CAN protocol

Hello

I'm new on CAN protocol through the Robert Bosch ver2.0 part B specification CAN. I don't understand the following lines in page 63

"Note:

Start / Wake up:

If during the start-up, a single node is online, and if this node sends a message, it will get no acknowledgement, detect an error and repeat the message. It can become 'passive error' but not 'bus stop' for this reason. »

As far as I understand when a transmitter detects an error (such as error of recognition), it relays the message and also increments the number of errors of transmission (TEC) 8. So if there is only one node, then its CET should increase by 8 every time it sends a message and must go to status of "off bus".

Can someone please explain why the specification says that he cannot go "Error Passive" but not "off Bus".

Thanks in advance,

Jagdish.

In Chapter 7 of the specification where it says incrementing by 8 for each error, the next sentence says that there is an exception where a node does not increment the transmitter error counter if there are passive error (TC > = 128) and the error is an error no. - ack.

  • Definition of FD CAN baud rate gives the error (using samples of C)

I use C for XNET "FD CAN Frame Input Stream" samples where I put the valid values of "nxPropSession_IntfCanFdBaudRate" between 1000000-8000000. (according to http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/372840k.pdf#page=983)

    I am getting following error

NOR-XNET status: NOR-XNET: baud rate (Hex 0x3FF63040) The FD CAN you provided is beyond the capability of the manufacturer of the specified transmitter/receiver. In our internal testing, we found this baud rate to run, but bus errors may be detected or generated during communication. See the Presentation of the material NOR-XNET CAN section in the software and manual equipment OR XNET for more information.

I have a loop back configuration with a PCI card with 2 ports.

It is a warning and not an error to inform you that you may be exceeding the capacity of the physical hardware. While the FD CAN protocol supports very fast transfer speeds, none of the manufacturers transcevier still created talkies that they ensure that all transfer speeds. Talk to them, the number one problem was do an EMC low enough to run in the vehicles. They tend to be actually able to follow the signaling rate.

Therefore, we allow you to use NOR-XNET to communicate to a wide range of transmission speeds, but sound you the alarm if you are exceeding the rates allowed by the manufacturer. For most use cases, this can be ignored safetly.

FYI, what baud rate you try to run to?

  • No matter what I do, I can't go home group work.

original title: no matter what I do, I can't get working group. I reinstalled the operating system spent money with a response from MS Tech and spent countless hours on my own trying to fix.

I have 3 PC Dell XPS8300 Dell Inspiron Mini 1012, a Dell XPS 15 laptop computer. I can not homegroup to work. I can see the files of documents, video, music and photos on every PC, but when I click the icon there is nothing there. Yes before ask you, I asked, I turned on the discovery of the network, all the computers are in the same workgroup, password sharing is disabled, etc, etc. I don't even see the public folder and yes public folder sharing is turned on. I thought using homegroup to share files was supposed to be easy as pie. What the devil is going on Microsoft? HUH! If there is a rep MS reading this question, I need help. I've already spent too much money on your premium support. I don't want to throw good money after bad. No threat here, but now I know why my friends rave about their Mac. I spend so much money on my PC, the XPS 15 and XPS8300 especially, as Macs cost but I don't get any satisfaction. Is not even to mention the issues I have Internet Explorer do not always respond or refuses to connect even though my connection is excellent. I guess you can say that I am more than a little fed up.

    Sincerely and Regretably,.

    Hello

    1. What is the mode of connection between the computer you are trying to connect using the homegroup (wired, wireless)?

    2. What is the choice of the network location? Is this 'work' or 'Home '?

    3. What is the location chosen for the shared folders?

    Follow the steps mentioned below

    Method 1:

Run the homegroup Troubleshooter and check.

    Open the homegroup troubleshooting utility

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-HomeGroup-Troubleshooter

    Method 2:

You can temporarily disable the Windows Firewall and third-party firewall and check.

Note: enable the firewall after you fix the problem.

    Check out the link:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/Understanding-Windows-Firewall-settings

You don't have to create separate folders and provide permissions; Instead you can use libraries to share files and folders.

You must also make sure that your router can protocol support IPv6. If this isn't the case, Windows 7 cannot communicate with other computers using the homegroup.

  • A module C - DAQ exists which will interface with standard RV - C?

Module C - DAQ exists that if interface with standard RV - C (vehicles recreational CAN)? RV - C seems to be a variant of J1939 according to Wikipedia.

I would use 9861 OR or NI 9862. I'm new on CAN protocol and evaluate some assistance.

I've never used RV - can, but according to Wikipedia, the rate is 250Kbaud, so you'll want high speed CAN peripheral, 9862, you can set baud rate on init of the material.  After installing XNet and cDAQ software, you have a max bus monitor and several examples in the example Finder to read and write raw images.  After that, you'll want to read on the standard to understand how to format and analyze the data.

Also if you have any questions, you can post on the Sub-forum Auto , they can probably answer more specific questions.

  • Second start window in a command line application

I have a CVI vantage command-line application. The bed that a code module using the can Protocol. He takes this information and generates a product label and put on a module, scans the barcode and verifies its accuracy then it ejects the device. This process involves a data acquisition and a PLC. Lately we have had problems with the PLC and data acquisition. I want to start a second window and view the status of the lines of e/s DAQ. Start the second thread is no problem, what I need to know is to know how to trigger the second display window. I try to avoid using window GUI functions if I can. Is it possible and where can I find an example of this?

    Hello Rich_G,

Unfortunately, Win32 programs are limited to a console that is used by the process.  You'll either need to view your status information in a graphical interface, or create a child process to host your second console.

An example of creating a child process and communicate with him via named pipes can be found here.  It is in C++, but it should translate quite directly to C.  While the example uses named pipes for interprocess communication, you can use any mechanism you prefer, such as network Variables.

This will not change anything, except less secure your network.  The encryption method does not affect the rest of the internet connections, and you indicate that you are connected to WiFi.

  • How can I configure i/o Protocol TCPIP/series-488 (4)?

We strive to communicate to an instrument that can accept orders on Ethernet GPIB.  We got things as much as possible along and changed all the vendor code to allow us to use a VISA TCPIP session, but we get an error when the code calls the VISA Read STB.  Help on the VISA Read STB implies that if we can set the property e/s Protocol on Serial-TCPIP/488 (4), all must be very well, but we'll have a moment difficult to find how/where we would find the place to do.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you

My guess is that they are referring to the creation of a property node VISA on the block diagram below features > Instrument i/o > VISA > VISA advanced > property node. Set this function and 'ownership' right-click, then select Properties > Message based Setttings > IO Protocol. Right-click on the block i/o Prot and change to write. Right click again and create constant. Choose 'Serial-TCPIP-USB/488 strings. It is the fourth selection in the list.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

I think that confuse you routing process.

Router; route packages using their layer 3 address.

This means not router cannot understand the upper layer protocols. There just transmission by addressess of layer 3.

for example: we can define Access-list for tcp and udp layer 4 packets. router can decide whether to permit or refuse even if these lists filter by glance in the section layer 4 of the package.

In an SSH or Telnet session, role of the router is terminal.

Intermediate device belongs in the the router routing process.
