  Yes LR 5 is Up To Date, but there is a NEW version of LR. CC/LR6. If you have a Creative cloud subscription open the application Adobe Creative Cloud, the icon in your menu bar.

  

  And install LR CC 2015.1

  

  The Open button will say either install or Try. Just click on it no matter what is said and LR CC will be installed.

  I have a problem see a file in LR 4.2 when it is located in the folder where I want it to be.

  I created a composite tiff image of two raw files residing in two different folders.  I had exported the two LR like TIFF raw files, open the TIFF in Photoshop CS5, then grouped into a file of multilayer tiff to create a composite file 600 + MB.  This composite was recorded in Photoshop, under a new file name using the "save under".  I knew that the new composite file would not be in the LR catalog, until I imported it.   When I imported, the picture went in a new folder named date (call the folder "A").  So far, it all makes sense to me.

  From that point on things got funny.  Working in LR, I tried to move the composite single file in the folder that make up one of the files is from (let's call it 'B' folder).  The move has failed. Instead, I got an error message saying that the file already existed in 'b '.   I couldn't see the file in 'B' using lightroom, but MS Explorer revealed that the file was there.  I don't understand how he got there.

  Still trying to get my composite 'B' recognized by LR, I first deleted the composite 'B' using Explorer, then went into LR and moved the file 'A' (where recognized LR), in 'B '.   Still not good.  LR does not display the file in 'B', but it appears in the Explorer.

  I guess I could live with this composite file into its own folder, 'A', but this isn't really where I want to.  More importantly, I don't understand why I can't see in LR in the folder where I want to.

  Help is appreciated.

  Problem went away this morning!

  I tried this step once again (again) after my computer starts:

  Still trying to get my composite 'B' recognized by LR, I first deleted the composite 'B' using Explorer, then went into LR and moved the file 'A' (where recognized LR), in 'B '.

  This time it worked, the file moved successfully and normally appears in LR.

  Don't know if the re-booting helped, or I made a stupid mistake that healed a good night sleep to.  If later, I apologize to all those who are scratched their heads on this one.

  Looks like you have all the images in the selected folder. There are three levels of selection in Lightroom, not the usual two that you find in other programs.

  Very light gray is "most selected".

  Light gray is "selected".

  and medium gray is "disabled".

  You probably all selected, a single file is "most selected" and you feel the situation because this one file being the only has selected a. Try clicking on the border of one of the images that you don't want, that unselect everything that is already selected, and then by clicking on the image you want to select.

  Hi Alan,

  No, you cannot export a single page of the book Module.

  However, you can try the following suggestion if you have a book with a smaller number of pages:

  Duplicate the book in the Collections Panel (right click > book duplicate) > then choose the book duplicate > edit the required page and delete all the pages except that you want to export > choose export to JPEG.

  I am trying to export a small document to PDF using InDesign CC 2014, something I've done many times before, but it now says "unable to export the PDF file.

  There is no errors in the document (at least according to the preflight Panel) and the error does not say why InDesign doesn't have to export the PDF file.

  Does anyone have suggestions on what to check to find out what it is exactly that InDesign cannot or will not do?

• I can't open a PSD file in Lightroom

  I just Lightroom CC 6.2, and I wanted to import a psd file (press the "Download" button to get it back: 960 Grid System , then this is the file called 960_grid_24_col.psd). So I went to 'file' = > 'Open Catalogue' and I was able to load the psd file.

  I guess that there must be a way to download these files, but I can't know what it is.

  File / catalog open is used with the LR catalogs not the images you want to import into LR.

  You must open a LR catalog, perhaps a vacuum that you create with file / new catalog.

  Once you have LR opened with a catalog, then use file / import Photos and videos, select an Add import, then place on the DSP you want to try to import.

  A more general question would be why you use LR with things you get from 960.gs?  Photoshop would be better suited to process PSD files.   LR only reads the composite preview embedded in a PSD.  Photoshop would be able to deal with the layers contained inside.

I use a D300, the D300S and the D800E. I downloaded camera Raw 9.1 and that did not help. I don't use any software from Nikon for my file transfer.   You can use the free VMWare Converter Standalone (available here: http://www.vmware.com/download/converter/). Use your ESX as target and convert the virtual machine to a VMWare Workstation. I've never tried, but I think it will work.

  I have a folder on my desktop I want to back up every hour approximately. so that if something happens to him, I could just copy and paste the version, so I just want to make a copy of the file. For example, at the moment I'm just copy and paste the folder into another folder every time I check it, about once a day and it is very annoying and I would like to automate this process.   It is not possible on this specific issue.

  As an alternative, you can download and install the SkyDrive to Windows desktop application.

  You can add this file on SkyDrive and whenever you make changes, it will automatically change into the SkyDrive folder.

  You must be connected to the network, in order to get the changes take effect in the SkyDrive folder.
