• Firefox will not open at all, after the last update (13.08.2015).

  After the update (40.0.2 @ 13.08.2015) just used Firefox open. The process is visible in the Task Manager, but does nothing. no window. JUST. NOTHING. It works only in safe mode or when ran as administrator. I tried other computers from home too. Same thing.

  How to fix?

  Try a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

• Since this morning, shortcut desktop Firefox will not open unless Firefox was already open...

  Aaaaahhhhh - yesterday, everything was fine. Nothing seemed to be a problem. This morning I'm on my laptop to read my emails as usual, a shortcut icon on the desktop for Yahoo, and it does not open. Then I tried several other shortcuts office linking to Firefox and none of them is open. The only shortcut that works is the Firefox that brings me to my home page. Once it is open, then my shortcuts all work. What? I must say that I have others linking to Google Chrome desktop shortcuts, and they all work very well. What is the problem with Firefox that I now already have it open to allow my shortcuts to open? It is so annoying not being able to just to open things directly from the desktop. I tried to delete all shortcuts and reapply them. It does not help. Anyone got any ideas? Thank you

  Just checked the other shortcuts and they have now all seems to be a new behavior - I guess I had a fleeting event on my hands!

• 14 Firefox will not open!

  I tried to update, on 14 FF, twice, and whenever I do, FF does not open. I'm under return 13 without any problem, but as soon as I upgrade to 14, I need to uninstall FF and reinstall 13 and not up to date. But I need to update, most of my modules are not compatible with 13, they say, and I won't be vulnerable to security issues.

  It cannot be my profile because it works very well with 13. I turned off my security systems and it will not always be open.

I deleted everything regarding Firefox on my computer, have run Norton Power erasers, am running a full system scan, and even tried to see if Norton was blocking it somehow. I don't know if it's some sort of error, processing, because the last time it worked he asked to update to firefox, and then he said that it was not compatible with the norton toolbar. After update, it crashes like this. I have re-installed many times off my internet, checked the Task Manager and nothing. I have no idea.

  System: Windows 7 32 bit, running on an eMachines computer. Never had this problem before.

• Gmail in firefox will not open the file selection window when adding attachments, no errors, just nothing. Chrome works fine on the same computer. Firefox is updated

  Google has fixed this problem with attachments in Gmail, on their side, so this should work without the workaround to allow pop ups for mail.google.com.

• I trashed my mimetypes.rdf file to restore stocks of download, and now Firefox will not open because profile missing, please notify

  Until very recently, when I want to download a pdf file, it will open automatically, and recently, for some reason, it stopped automatically opening and just downloaded on my desktop where I wanted.   To expand on what the issue is, whenever I try to open a new tab, it does everything simply. Only new tabs open when I click on a link that also opens the page in this link in a new tab. Even when I try to do the same thing in the file menu and Ctrl + t. otherwise, Firefox works normally. Yesterday, I downloaded a program called 'FLV player' I knew came with a bar ask.com toolbar, but for some reason, from ask.com to the home page for Firefox. After that, I changed the homepage to Firefox, return to the default page.

  Ask Toolbar can cause this problem. Uninstall it.
