Hello @raelph,

Welcome to the Forum, it is nice to hear from you.  I'm sorry for your startup problem. Thanks a lot for the provision of such information. "hp 14ro32TU windows 8.1" if possible can provide you the product number of your laptop as well.  Click on the following link to know how to find the number for your product.

What is my model number and the product?

I'm assuming that an error you posted was really, "LogonUI.Exe Application Error".

Did this happen after you did an update to windows 8.1 Windows 8?

Now, there is a call to System Recovery process.  This process is somewhat a last resort.  The reason why I say this is because it will get rid of all your data on your laptop.  The system recovery will wipe everything clean, then reload everything back to how the laptop was when he came out of the box.

Here is a link that allows you to get the information on how to do it. The instructions are the same for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.

  • Can I reinstall Windows without losing all my data?

I have starting problems. I tried startup repair and the other choiceson system repair screen and which did not find anything. I suspect that it is a system rather than material.

I can boot into what is logon Windows and then I just get a white screen with a mouse cursor. Is there anyway to install Windows files without making a complete clean install which would mean losing me all my data and having to reinstall all my programs again?

    Thank you

If you want to have the factory settings still something like this is not possible.

If the situation is very annoying for you back up all your data and reinstall the recovery image. OK it works a little bit for you to have the old configuration once again, but it's not that complicated. :)

Now, I can't run Windows! It gives a message that this file RtlGina2.dll is not found! Specifically, it says, User Interface failure. The UI for logon RtlGina2.dll DLL failed to load. Contact your system administrator to replace the DLL or restore the original dll.

How can I replace the dll if I can't even get started? Help, please! I know just enough to get me in trouble I see.

    WyoPathfinder,
Are you able to boot mode safe mode with command prompt?  If Yes, then you can search for the file "dir /s /a RtlGina2.dll" lists the location where you moved to.  Then you can just copy (path\filename) c:\Windows/System32\(filename)

If you do not work in safe mode, then you can boot from a XP disc and go into the recovery console and do the same thing.

  • Workstation HP Z240 Tower: can I install Windows 7 from scratch?

    Greetings!

The operating system on my computer is actually win 10 Pro demoted to Win 7 Pro. I want to know if I can install from scratch Windows 7 in my computer using the Windows 7 disc with the computer.

I was told, the operating system is Windows 10 but it uses an interface of Windows 7. I don't understand the need for this complication. If you can just install Windows 7, so why use an interface? Maybe this computer only works with Windows 10?

What are you trying to do, as you say that you are already using Windows 7?

I do not understand your question about "interface."

The GUI (graphical user Interface) for Windows 10 incorporates most of the features of the GUI for Windows 7 and also of the GUI Windows 8/8.1.

    See: http://www8.hp.com/ca/en/products/workstations/product-detail.html?oid=8354563#! = form tab

    Your computer was preinstalled with:

Windows 7 Professional 64 (available through 10 Pro 64 Windows downgrade rights)

and also comes with a license and support for Windows 10 Pro software.

My recommendation: given that Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7 in January 2020 - a short period of absence - install Windows 10 to get security-updates for your computer now and after January 2020.

Suggestion: if you have a "spare" disk drive, disconnect your current hard drive, connect the 'spare' and try to use this support for Windows 7 to install Windows.  That should answer your question about "can I install...". ».
