Can't my wireless mouse to work in Windows XP

I installed Windows XP on my Macbook Pro, but I can't figure out how to get my bluetooth mouse works under Windows, even if it works when running Mac OS X, I have installed all the drivers Boot Camp, which doesn't seem to be the problem. Aid online resources tells me to go to the control panel and click on Bluetooth devices to add mouse, but this category appears under control panel. Any ideas?

I have an Apple Mighty Mouse. I installed all the drivers from Boot Camp on my Mac installation CD, that I've included a bluetooth mouse driver. I wonder why I don't see even a Bluetooth devices icon when I open Control Panel in Windows XP.

There was no battery Microsoft Bluetooth in Windows XP to Service Pack 2, so the first question is what service pack of Windows XP do you have installed?

Worse, by Wikipedia:

The Microsoft Windows Bluetooth stack only supports built-in Bluetooth dongles or externally attached byUSB . It does not support connections Bluetooth radio onPCI , I2C , serial , PC Card or other interfaces. He argues also that only one Bluetooth radio.

If the Bluetooth transceiver in your Mac don't tell itself as a device USB, Windows does not detect and won't install it Bluetooth services.

The following thread processes a mouse Mighty Mouse with Boot Camp/Vista installation, but it assumes that you have the Bluetooth Control Panel icon. http://discussions.Apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1104475&start=0&TSTART=0

Because a definitive answer to your question seems to turn on the details of the Apple hardware, you're more likely to get a complete answer in one of the Apple forums.  From my knowledge, it seems that you will need to obtain a different mouse, or at least a transceiver Bluetooth USB plug-in, to use XP on your Mac.

My wireless mouse stop working... any suggestions? I put a new battery in it and it still does not work?

    Hi Glenna,

Try a classic USB mouse to confirm that this isn't your system programs related to the mouse.

Try using different USB ports in order to check that it is not a problem with that specific port.

Try the mouse wireless on another computer to see if she's working.  That should help tell if the problem is with the mouse or with the computer.

If it came with the software, firmware and drivers, try to reboot to see if that solves the problem.

If she just started recently, try a system restore to a point in time before that the problem started.  If you use Windows 7, see:http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html. If you are using Vista, see:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. If you are using XP, see:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial56.html.

If the mouse doesn't work no matter what you try (on any computer), then chances are it is defective and must be replaced.  If it works on other computers, but not on this computer, then further efforts will be necessary to try to track down the problem.  If the above does not resolve the problem, after return with the results of what you have tried and what version of Windows are you using and the manufacturer, brand and model number accurate and complete of the wireless mouse.  Then this thread will probably be moved to where it should be (this is for feeback on the forums, the issues not techniques on mouse problems) and the people in this forum will also offer assistance.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • wireless mouse not working not

I just bought a laptop of Hp Envy PC m6-n168ca m6 to replace my last Envy with a damaged operating system. I have a Microsoft 4000 wireless mobile mouse to use with it and I plugged it in the usb connector and installed automatically and apparently successfully. Unfortunately, the mouse is not recognized on the screen. It works on my other laptop so I know it isn't the mouse. This is my first laptop touchscreen but I wonder if it has something to do with it? The function of mouse trackpad works fine but I need to be able to use the touch pad and mouse. Is this possible? Is there something I need to enable/disable or turn off? I searched through all the help and control settings and can not find any useful information. just how to change settings click of mouse and stuff. Can someone help me with this?

    Thank you

  • Wireless mouse not working not when the games starts

I have a logitech LX6 wireless mouse and keyboard. They stand work very well in the main menu of Windows 7 and surf the Internet, how ever when I start a game (I tried WoW and SUP Commander) the mouse stoped working and everything I could do on the keyboard was out esc. Any ideas.

It's strange.  You have another mouse and recently pass to it?  Or have you had it for awhile and the mouse has started to act like that?

I could certainly go to the Web from Logitech site and see if there are any updated drivers for your mouse.  Also, make sure that you don't have another mouse plugged in at the same time playing these games.  I guess you do not, but sometimes a game will remember your previous settings of the mouse, and when you go play, he thinks that the mouse is always there.  So, you will need to uninstall and reinstall your games.  However, I would do that as a last resort.  If your mouse is new, you may contact support of Logitech to see if they know work around or solution.
