Can't see anything in network in Win Explorer

Network Win Explorer shows nothing, including the local computer except the router [Luxul xbr-2300 company double-wan] which is kind of weird because I've never seen a router appear like that.  Otherwise, the network works fine because Outlook on the affected computer can open the PST on the other computer, and the other computer can see the affected computer. Both are newly built machines Win 7 Pro.

Yes - we have checked the settings sharing advanced and discovery network is on and all the other settings are good. The customer says it worked very well and it was working fine when I left it there 3 days, but that night she 'magical' stopped working and we know how it goes.  :-)

I've not seen this problem before and can't think what to do except completely remove the network and uninstall the NIC drivers, reboot, install NETWORK card drivers and set up the network from scratch.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft Forum.

Did you do last changes made on your computer?

Receive you error messages, if so, what is the exact error message?

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

Method 1:

I suggest to start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

Step 1:

See the link to start in safe mode.

Startup options (including safe mode).

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Step 2:

If your computer runs fine in safe mode, I suggest you perform the clean boot.

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

See the link to perform the clean boot.

That and some how simply showed once again without knowing what caused the problem.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A month later, all items under Network disappeared again.

    Network discovery is on.

Made a boot safe mode with networking and nothing comes in network in Win Explorer.

    Other network connections work fine.

The affected computer can print to the network printer and open the PST to Outlook from the network. And another computer can see the shared folders on the computer.

As a solution, I traced the My Documents folder on the second computer by typing the path, and it worked. Of course the function go to map a drive showed nothing as part of Windows Explorer.

I had done a vast overhaul of the network, and I'm sure that we looked under network in Win Explorer because we changed the names of computers and fixed the Outlook profile so that customers could more easily identify which computer was.

Since it just happened again seemingly out of nowhere, we did a scan of this computer with MS Sec Essentials full virus/mw and found nothing.

'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer' seem to have removed itself which means that I can't see anything in "my pictures". Have tried the system restore several times with no luck and find nothing to reinstall on the microsoft Web site. Any ideas how I can reinstall it?

    Hi Andrew

Sorry, but I'm a little confused about your problem. What you mean exactly with the system restore? You restore the operating system to an earlier time with the System Restore tool, or you have used the restore CD?

If you open Windows Explorer, you can see all the data in the folder my pictures?

  • Connected to the wireless network, but can't see all the networks

I want to look at the properties of a wireless network that I'm not connected, but I can't do this, because even though I am connected to the Internet, some networks are appearing on the list. Please see the image as an attachment.

    Hello Nathaniel,

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

According to the description of the problem, you are connected to internet but cannot see the wireless network through which you are connected. Perhaps, the reason behind this is that some settings get corrupted. Then try below mentioned methods and see if it helps.

Have you tried to restart the computer and check the status of your problem.

Try to run in built store and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

Automated convenience store is a tool that can find and automatically fix problems with your computer. These utilities are not designed to solve all the problems, but they are useful to try because they can often save your time and efforts.

    Run the network troubleshooter utility:

Try to follow the steps described in the article mentioned below and see if it helps you to solve the problem.

  • Can't see the computer network

I have two computers running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on my home network. In Windows Explorer under network, n ° 1 sees itself and n ° 2, but no. 2 can't see himself, i.e. cannot see no. 1.  Both can access the internet. The printer is connected to the N1 by USB (we had a lot of trouble at first with Wi - Fi so use cable for this).

There is no RESIDENTIAL group because I understand there are IPv6 and our router does not support that. I tried the homegroup, but no. 2 could not yet see no. 1. We operate a wireless G network.

On the computers on that network discovery is and file sharing and printer are on. Protected by password sharing is disabled.

I saw some comments which may help to a registry cleaning. Could this be true?

What Miss me? It left me speechless.

    Thanks for your help.
    G

    It's fixed!

I found another thread in that says something about the zone of confidence in their firewall. I went and looked and BINGO! The name of the area was very different in the name of the wireless network. Now it's the same thing and I have reset certain actions and we are connected.

Yay! I thank very you much for all your hard work with this in mind.

Moreover, there is no element of network connections in the control panel in computers. Is that how it should be?

  • Pavilion 15 with Realtek rtl8188ee can't see 802.11n network

    Hello

a new Pavilion 15 with the network card wireless Realtek rtl8188ee - all drivers up to date.

I have a Netgear router which is dual band and there is a network of 11g and 11n.

I can connect and use the network of 11g all very well.

But I don't even see the 11n network.

    Any thoughts?

    Hello:

If you mean that you cannot connect to the 5.0 GHz band, it's because the wireless RTL8188EE is a unique card band (2.4 GHz) only.

  • Can't see the shared folders in WIn 8.1 comments.

I'm using VMware Workstation 10.0.1 and I earn 8.1 as my host OS.

When I set up a VM 7 Win, shared folders are working as expected, but with a VM 8.1 Win I can't find folders in Explorer.  Also, I tried to access it via \\vmware-host and \\.host without success.

How can I see the shared folders in a Win 81 guest VM?

    Thank you!

    Hey Psi,

I had a similar problem. Worked fine on Windows 8.0, but after modernized this VM for Windows 8.1, the shared folder feature has stopped working. Only after the reinstallation of VMware Tools, it worked again.

Please note that a 'fix' on VMware Tools installation does not provide it, only a complete uninstall/reboot/install/reboot sequence makes this feature back to life for me.

    Hope this helps,

  • Dell XPS 13 (2015) can't see 5 GHz network

    Hello

I have the new laptop XPS of 13 2015 with Broadcom 802.11ac configuration. I am unable to see my WiFi 5 GHz network and can connect only to the 2.4 Ghz band. My router is the Asus RT-N66U. Is there a solution?

    SAL

    I had the same problem.

If you uninstall the wireless card in Device Manager (select the option to also delete the driver) and then check for changes on the hardware, Windows uses its own built the pilot who can see 5 GHz networks.  It seems that the driver from the Dell Web site is borked.

My concern is that this driver is not updated, so I would like to know where to get more drivers for this device.

  • Strangest thing: iPhones can't see the wireless network. Why not?

Suddenly, an iPhone 5 and an iPhone 6 were not connected to the home network. I thought that the wireless router was to have a hiccup. Reset it and still no. Control a connected computer and internet. Thought that it was a wireless problem, but check the settings (I don't mess with) and they are fine. BUT, I realized my iPad is always connected to the network. IPhones don't even see the wireless network. SSID always broadcast on. I tried to enter the SSID and password manually, but iPhones say that the network does not exist. It's the strangest thing. What would make the invisible network for phones all of a sudden? Both phones are differnet OS running. One is the latest version, probably the previous version. It's a FiOS Actiontec router/router wireless. Everyone has heard of such a thing? I do not understand how it is possible...

Try this on an iPhone. No matter which even with other iOS.

Tap settings > general > reset > reset network settings

You will need to enter the password for Wi - Fi.

    Adobe Help.jpg

I noticed that after updating to Photoshop 2015. Since then, I have uninstalled re-installed via creative cloud, 2014 and 2015 but still having the same issue.

I don't see any options in the pop up dialog boxes (new image, the image size, curves, layer options etc...). I also can't name/Rename layers and can not see the tool names. Before the update of 2015, I've been on Photoshop 2014 for a good half a year with no problems so I don't think it's a problem with my operating system or laptop. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

This could be. They have revamped the user interface in 2015, so if you receive just with him, I guess, but since you get it with 2014 also, it could be something the OS.

  • I don't see local area network. Win 7, IE 10. How can I do so?

I do not see local networks with my win 7-64 bit, that is to say 10.  How can I do so?

    Hi David,

Please answer a few questions to refine the question.

    1. When you say LAN. you earn to the available network connections?

    2. are you using wired or Wi - Fi?

    3. are you able to access the network with other browsers?

Try to run the network troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem:
