  I do not see the "host application" in the context menu under "open with".  It does not appear when you choose files on drive C, or when choosing files in a shared folder. I enabled sharing and checked the box to enable VMware open applications on the Mac.    I tried to uninstall and then install VMware tools several times.

  In Windows XP if you right click on a file that resides in a shared folder of VMware and select the open with menu and don't see 'The Application host by default', it is normal if you have never opened such a file before to this virtual machine and you would need select open with > choose program... > default from the host Application and it will open the file in the default application on the host for that type of file and from that point forward for this file type then "default host Application" should then show directly in the open with menu.

  I have successfully installed and configured 11.1.2 under Windows 2003 R2. My problem is that when I go to workspace, I can't see the planning. I think that this is supposed to be under Descent-> applications-> planning. Here are the steps I took:
  
  I set up the Foundation.
  Then I configured Essbase and planning.
  I've reconfigured the Web server again.
  
  The steps above have been successfully completed.
  
  Check my services - they are all running. Even restarted the web planning application.
  
  I also checked the logic blogs and newspapers of planning. Could not see anything in the mess, but is there something I'm supposed to be looking at?

  The mistake that you pointed out-, it seems that your logical Web server is not connected. Have you started Web Logic Server for your project specific user? I'd take a peek at the logical Web administration Console. See if the planning is running it.

  You should know the sql_id (available from v$ sql, v$ sqlares. dba_hist_sqltext...)

  You can query V$ SQL table get, get the SQL_ID of your query.

  Let's say you're SQL_ID = 30h4bvv184064

  then pass it to sql: select * from table (DBMS_XPLAN. DISPLAY_cursor ('30h4bvv184064'));

Is there an Internet settings I need to change to see the list of applications. It seems that there is something off in my internet options or preferences.

  I am not able to see Consolidation or planning Applications of the workspace-> Navigate-> Applications! In fact, those who are there but the combo_window do not completely display, it shows just an arrow pointing upwards and an arrow down and, in the meantime is displayed all applications on a very small list.   Try using IE6. HFM is not yet compatible with 7 or 8.

  A solution is to connect to the workspace and click on file > Preferences > General > default startup Options and modify the content of the Application, and then select your application. This way you will connect right.

  If you access your Yahoo mail via Mac Mail application, in the Mail menu bar, click Mail > Preferences , and then select the display tab to assure you that:
