Can't start the recovery!

Hey

I just bought a new laptop (Pavilion dv6 1224) and installed Windows 7 RC on it, later today, I discovered that I was not able to boot the recovery disc.

I can see the files in the patition of recovery in Windows 7, but when I try to access the drive through the start menu (ESC--> F11), it is just to start Windows 7 instead.

This procedure works for many people >

1.right - click on the "Computer" icon and select manage.
2. This will launch the Microsoft Management Console.
3. on the left side of the MMC console, click "Disk management" and it will show you all the partitions.
4. right - click on the "HP Recovery" partition and select "Mark as Partition Active."
5. when the warning message appears, select 'Yes' - restart the notebook and it will automatically start in the Recovery Manager without having to press F11.

  • Re: Can no start, no recovery, I burn the other pc recovery partition?

My Satellite L300 will not start over. All attempts at recovery failed (blue screen "STOP 0 x 8086").
The command chkdsk from another PC also partially failed. The hard drive needs to be replaced.
However, the recovery of the hard drive partition can be accessed from another PC or DVD to boot from linux.

I intend to buy a new hard drive but do not have the DVD to implement recovery.
Should I buy the DVD of recovery since the support site or can I burn the recovery from another PC partition after you mount on the sick drive?

Can I download the software creator of recovery on any PC disk, then burn a dvd recovery partition and you may use the recovery burned disc to install a new hard drive?

    Thank you.

    > Should I buy the DVD of recovery since the support site or can I burn the recovery from another PC partition after you mount on the sick drive?
Something like this is not possible.
You must buy DVDs of initial recovery and you can order it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
    > Can I download the software creator of recovery on any PC disk, then burn a dvd recovery partition and you may use the recovery burned disc to install a new hard drive?
Forget it. The thing whole doesn t work on this track.

Buy Toshiba Recovery and install the original recovery image on the new HARD drive. It costs a little, but it is easier and faster way to have good workbook with the factory settings.

  • Re: How to start the recovery from the hidden partition?

    Sorry for my English.

I reinstalled Windows from DVD Windows (win Vista) because I get blue screen sometimes. After the reinstallation, I had the same problem again.
Now the shop wants to charge me for the service because recovery F8 does not work. I still have this hidden partition, but I put t know how to do the recovery. Any chance of fixing the problem?

I don t care about the data and the blue screen, I think than is hardware problem.
    Thank you

    Hello

Now you have the problem. You can start the recovery folder HDDRecovery facility just if your laptop has the factory settings.
When you use Microsoft facilities disk for the installation of the operating system, this option will be gone.

You have created recovery DVD such as recommended by Toshiba?

  • Satellite L350: Can not access the recovery partition by pressing 0

    Heya

I can not access the recovery on a Toshiba L350 Manager. I tried pressing 0 (zero, two of them) at first to access HD-recovery, but nothing happens. Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

The reason why I want to access is:
I have a l350 Toshiba with a partially installed windows here. For now, he gets the "starting Windows" and "instalation program's services began" (in Norwegian) which stops with a popupbox saying: "the computer unexpectedly inexplicable, or an unexpected error has occurred. The site amenities cannot procceed. To install Windows, you will need to click ok to restart the computer. Start the installation process. ».

What started the problem was that during the last part of the installation (after Win7 becomes usable, but above all has been installed), escape was pressed, and the computer has been used normally.

    > I can not access the recovery on a Toshiba L350 Manager. I tried pressing 0 (zero, two of them) at first to access HD-recovery, but nothing happens. Is there something obvious that I'm missing?

    I assume you are using a European model for laptop and so you should try it;
-Press on F8 laptop computer power on.
    -Then choose fix my computer
    -Then Toshiba HDD Recovery.

This should allow you to start the Toshiba HDD recovery process.

  • How to start the recovery on Equium A60?

Hi, I have to do a factory reset on my Equium A60, I put the cd in but cannot get it started the recovery, some can help me please? Thanks in advance

    Hi EPAs

Turn recovery media in the CD/DVD drive and disappears. Press the power button and hold the C button. This means the unit choose CD/DVD drive as the first boot device.

Otherwise, you can change the boot priority in the BIOS settings and set the CD/DVD device as the first.

    Good bye

  • Satellite L750 - where can I find the Recovery Wizard?

Hi everyone - when I turned on my laptop for the first time, it asked me to set up the Recovery Wizard, but because I did not really know what options to choose, I cancelled the task. I'm yet to find where, on my laptop the Recovery Wizard is, put in place new - can you pleae direct me where to look?

Thank you very much [and remember, novice here, so the instructions profane thanks :)]

    Hey Buddy,

If you press the F8 key before Windows starts, you can start the recovery of HARD drive. Choose fix my computer. Some files Windows will be charged and on the next window called system recovery options choose the latest Toshiba HDD Recovery option and follow the instructions on the screen. If you need a further explanation with pictures, see the official document of Toshiba on this procedure:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

Last but not least, you need to create the recovery disk Toshiba with preinstalled recovery media creator. In which case it would go something wrong you can restore the every time settings factory original and you are on the safe side :)

  • Satellite A300 - I can't find the recovery disk creator

    Hello world!

Need help with my Satellite A300. I lost the recovery disc optical I burned when the laptop was new. Now when I try to burn a new disc of recovery can't get the Recovery Disc Creator - not on the desktop or in the Start meny. I still have the folder with all the left recovery files - a folder named HDDRecovery with 4.5 GB size. The problem is to know how to burn the disc.

    Can anyone help?

    iMate, Sweden

    Hello!

You have reinstalled the laptop with your own version of Windows?

The problem is that the recovery disc creator can t be downloaded. So I think you use HARD drive recovery function to restore the factory settings. After that, it is perhaps possible to burn the disc of recovery again.

    Good bye

  • Yesterday, I downloaded the upgrade to El Capitan in a Mac Pro (early 2008) running Yosemite 10.10.5, and today I can not start the upgrade

Yesterday, I downloaded the upgrade to El Capitan in a Mac Pro (early 2008) running Yosemite 10.10.5, and today I can not start the upgrade.

The only option I have found is to click again on the download button, but the circle of download rest bike for a long time and ultimately that nothing happens.

    See if that helps...

Start with CMD + r or the Option/alt key to boot from the recovery partition & use utility disk from there to repair the disk, and then repair permissions.

  • Can not access the Recovery Mode

    Hello guys,.

I have a very annoying problem.

I can't enter mode recovery on my iMac 27 "late 2011, El Capitan 10.11.1.
After pressing 'control' + 'r' at the start, the recovery mode is loading, however, when the progress bar reaches half width computer is turn off.

When I try to access the Boot Manager ('option' button) turns on but after the selection of the recovery disc the situation in almost the same thing - is to turn off the computer.

It is a very annoying problem because if I have problems I won't be able to fix my Mac...

    I await your response.

If you do not already have a current backup, please backup all data, and then reinstall the OS. * you don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need the backup unless something is wrong. If the system has been upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you may need to the Apple ID and password to use.

There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional. Ask if you need advice.

If you installed the runtime Java distributed by Apple, and still need, you will need to reinstall it. It goes the same for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

Related support article refers to OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later versions.

  • I need Recovery Manager or start the recovery within Windows

    Stupid boring history:

I work in a local store of pawn and we also miss a place ebay store. Some people are not the brightest.

We have a HP Pavilion A6400Z that origionally came with Vista Home Basic.

Apparently at some point they thought it was too slow, so they took an acer recovery disk and put XP on there. There is no drivers / whatnot.

I put vista Home premium on there to see how he could play, and it works well. The recovery partition is surprisingly intact, with all of the HP Preload files there.

    What I do:

Only I have a disk of vista Home premium and want to the factory restore using the recovery partition that is always there.

Pressing F11 at startup is not in recovery mode, I need to get the software HP Recovery Manager, or find a file on the partition recovery that will do it for me.

    Thank you in advance!

By pressing F11 on HP Invent blue screen, as soon as it presents, should start the Recovery Manager.  If it isn't, there are two other ways to get it started.

    (1) try to start in Safe Mode, tapping F8 (not now) after the blue HP screen.  Then go on the recovery partition and mark it as active in the "disk management", then restart.  Back in safe mode, and it must ask that the installation of Windows you want.  If it does not order them HERErecovery Kit.  You can see several items that apply but do not require the "Vista Business". 5092-7398 or 5092-7399 should work.

  • How can I remove the recovery partition from a corrupt HARD drive that I replaced in a laptop?

I replaced a HDD corrupted in the laptop of a friend and you want to reuse. How can I delete the recovery partition? When I try to use my Windows 7 computer management tool, it will not access? I did a complete player wipe (twice) what the partition is still there and I can't remove it. It's 14 GB of space I want to retrieve and use the HARD drive in another system at a later date.

    Thank you

    Try the command line option:

Start cmd.exe as an administrator, then inside the window cmd, type

    DiskPart

    then, type diskpart

    list disk

take note of the correct disc ID to clear

    type

    Select disk x

(where x is the ID of your disk to erase)

    type

    clean

your HARD drive will be erased completely

or you can try the magic of partition:

or if it does not work:

  • Keyboard will not work to start the Recovery Console repair function

I would like to use the repair feature in Windows XP Professional Recovery Console when starting Onboard or USB CD-ROM drive.  My keyboard works very well to enable F12 and select boot device.  Windows Setup starts and then loads bunch of pilots - looking... but then my keyboard won't work for select 'R' to start the Recovery Console repair.  All this started because I uninstalled a Lexmark printer and it seems that the driver Lexmark LXBTtime.dll lack now but still wants Windows to start.   So now Config\System will not load.  I saw some threads in this forum recommend that my wireless keyboard does not work - so I borrowed a USB wired keyboard - but still the same problem.  Cannot select 'R' - the keyboard light turns off and of course not recognised by Windows Setup.  Any ideas or suggestions?  In addition to the purchase of a MAC (it was my suggestion of neighbors :-)   Thanks for the review!

    Hello

In addition to the suggestion of Daavee I would also ask you try another disk of Windows XP installation and also you can try with a keyboard five General PIN and check.

    I hope this helps.
