Can't the BIOS Setup

I have a HP Envy 700-010xt

I tried to add a secondary disk to start linux CentOS 7.0.

I don't know what happened, but I tried to change e BIOS to select the CentOS as main boot drive.

Now, when the computer comes on, the keyboard active briefly and then it crashes. The only thing I can do is press the power button to turn off the machine.

I don't know how to get into all the BIOS at this point start menus. It blocks just whenever I turn it on.

Hello

Try to clear the CMOS or pulling on the battery settings. Shut your PC down, pull the AC power cord and remove the Panel from the turn right to access internal components.

Please see here for the location of the battery on the motherboard and the CMOS clearing instructions (riders). HP reverse the motherboard during the installation of the tower.

    clint341,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.  We cannot guide you more precisely by changing the BIOS settings that the BIOS settings are specific to your motherboard.  However, most (if not all) parameters of the BIOS have an option to restore the default BIOS (sometimes called "default opitimized").  It may be an option in the menu that you highlight, then press enter or it can be assigned to an F key and States at the bottom of the screen, press F? for the default settings.  I hope this helps.  If you are still not able to reset, check with the manufacturer of PC for more information about the BIOS. • Portege Z30 - cannot access the bios Setup

    Hello

I can't enter BIOS setup when starting. Pressing on F2 allows me to enter the master password and HDD/SDD (confirmed validation), but the screen freezes at the "Toshiba configuration utility' graphics without any progress.

This problem began to appear quite suddenly, I enter the setup of BIOS several times before without any problem. The only change that's happened that I know is an event of disruption/recovery failed.

My suspicion is that the laptop is now in the start-up of hi-speed system. Can anyone confirm that? Is it possible to force it to boot normal start time? I'm using Linux, so I can't use the Windows of Toshiba Utilities.

    > I'm using Linux, so I can't use the Windows of Toshiba Utilities.
That s bad:(dans le Toshiba HW Setup vous trouveriez un paramètre pour modifier l'option vitesse de démarrage.)

    > My suspicion is that the laptop is now in the start-up of hi-speed system. Can anyone confirm that?
Hmm in my opinion, if the start-up speed would be set to fast, you wouldn't be able to press F2 and enter the BIOS password.

However, in other cases, if the startup mode is set to fast, you can enter the first INS key BIOS and press the F2 key

    Give it a try.

Quick post option does not exist and there is nothing to do. What you can try is to use a few hardware diagnostic tools.

    Hello @curtm,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I read your post about how you look to set up your BIOS in a certain way, and I'd be happy to offer my help!

Unfortunately, the BIOS is configured so that firmware can be largely personal. Set apart to access the different categories in the main menu of the BIOS, there are no other options to change the nature of the BIOS on your computer.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello

If the drive does not appear in the BIOS, there is a hardware problem - either with the player, wiring,
    or the motherboard interface circuits.

Check with a real computer store (the one that makes its own internal circuits and not of leeks and poster
a Best Buy or other stores) or Support of Dell.

  • Keyboard does not not on the desktop, but I can access the BIOS

I have a desktop Compaq Presario SR1220NX w / XP SP3. Using the keyboard I can access the BIOS (F1), but it stops working when I get on the desktop. I tried 2 P/S, USB, wireless keyboards (they are all worked on other computers) and they do not work once I get on the desktop. When I press a key on the keyboard they make a thud. I have the latest version of the BIOS.

I have reset the BIOS to its default settings, but it does not solve the problem.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be appreciated.

Can you start in SafeMode (f8) on the blue HP screen?  If you can, then you might try to return to a well known system restore point.
