Can verify us the scope of management for LM tablespace sizes?

Hi all;

Sizes of extensions that are managed locally can be determined automatically by the system.

Otherwise, all extensions can have the same size in a locally managed tablespace.

I created a test locally managed tablespace.

How can I check the sizes of scope management for tablespace in oracle 10 g test?

Most likely your tablespace is created as AUTOALLOCATE LMT. You can consult:

SQL > set long 50000

SQL > select dbms_metadata.get_ddl ('TABLESPACE', '') of double;

If you see the keyword 'autoallocate' you know why extensions are allocated with different sizes as AUTOALLOCATE specifies scope sizes are generated in the system.

If you want to create scopes with the same dimensions, you must specify UNIFORM.

Example:

SQL > CREATE TABLESPACE TS3 DATAFILE ' / oradata/ts3_01.dbf ' SIZE 50 M MEASURE LOCAL of MANAGEMENT UNIFORM SIZE 128 K;

SQL > select tablespace_name, extent_management, segment_space_management, initial_extent, next_extent from dba_tablespaces where nom_tablespace = 'YOUR_EXAMPLE ';

NOM_TABLESPACE EXTENT_MAN INITIAL_EXTENT NEXT_EXTENT SEGMENT

------------------------------ ---------- ------ -------------- -----------

YOUR_EXAMPLE LOCAL 1048576 1048576 MANUAL

Kind regards
