Can we false information of the disk space that windows Explorer reports... ???

Hello

I want to reduce my use of little brothers and sisters of the internet which takes a lot of space on my disk cuz I want to share my system with them very quickly.

I would like to ask if we could simulate the disk space information than windows Explorer reports manually or by using any small program - just-so that I could change according to my values and say ' see you can't download anything more!

Kind regards

Guelma

It's a little late for this, but anytime you do an upgrade, you must be sure that your computer is compatible. My guess is your drive for windows 7 is a DVD and you have a CD or a witch of CD - RW drive can not read CD

  • Masking of the disk space in Windows...

    Hello

I have an environment Active directory based on windows 2008 and 2012 windows servers. Most employees use the SHARED FOLDERS of our file server.

Is it not at all, I can't hide 'used the size and the total size' of information appears to the employees of the shared folder? As it is posted, employees used to save unnecessary files and it devours our storage space.

Is there a way I can hide the information about the size of the disc (the size used and total size) of the shared folder visible by employees using GROUP POLICY or scripts POWERSHELL?

    Kind regards

  • Where is the "log" in the toolbar of the burner? Also when I follow the directions to close the disk - where is 'windows explorer' I can't?

When I click Start then computer and burner - where is windows Explorer, and where can I find her close a session on the toolbar?

    Hello geehosafat,

Thank you for your response. The relay please if you are able to open Windows Media Player by clicking Start, and then by typing in the search box to start Windows Media Player. Then click on Windows Media Player based on the results of the search.

In addition, when burning files to disc, if the disk has been formatted using the Format mastered, the option to close a session will not appear as disks formatted with the mastered Format do not need to be closed and automatically compatible with other computers. If the disk has been formatted with the live file system, you can close a session to be able to use the disc in another computer or player. By default, Windows does automatically when you eject the disc.

Steps to burn files using Windows Explorer by using the live file system and mastered Format includes also, for reference, the link provided above burn a CD or DVD in Windows Explorer .

yesterday, I removed two my esxi machine vm - I remove disk thinkng it could free up space disc instead of 'delete inventory '.

my box of esx has about 334 GB in its datastore1

I don't have a virtual machine in esx box and that vm's only 143 GB on its two disks, however my datastore1 only show it is has about 80 b of space left.

    1. I did something wrong is eliminating the VM boxes that do not free until their allotted disk space?

  • What is the key of registry or files to change the option of the disk space to files offline in windows xp and 8

    Hello

will someone please solve my problem which is the key to registry or files will effect when we change the amount of disk space used to store in the offline files option when we go to control pane--> sync--> manageofflinefiles 8 victory while this option is not in the options of folders in Windows XP

    Hello

    Thanks for asking!

If I understand correctly, you want that registry key is responsible for the amount of storage on the disk space for offline files.

I suggest you to visit these links and check if it helps.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/is-is/Windows7/manage-disk-space-for-offline-files  (Applicable for Windows Xp)

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/904676?WA=wsignin1.0

For the registry key, see this.

It describes the registry key that defines the value for an amount of
    storage for use offline files:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache

To do: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • I want to view the properties of folders of files and the size of the files used on the right by clicking on them and the properties of the workstation to see the disk space used. __

I have trouble finding the disk space used by files and folders individually and when I try to know how much is consumed and free by right click on my computer.  This was easy in XP, but I can't get the answers I need to analyze which uses space, where and how.  What is happening with this?

    Hi NativeLegal Eagle,

Usually, right-click on the file or folder and clicking the properties option will give the details of the file or folder. The details include, type, size, location, size of the file on the disc etc.

Make a right click on my computer will not give the details of available disk space on the computer.

If you want to know the amount of space consumed by a program, then it can be found in the Add/Remove Programs window.
    a. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click ok.
    b. in the list, we can find the total space used by individual program running on the computer.

Note: If nothing is listed in the file properties window or a file, then provide us with more information, so that we can better help you.

  • How can I increase my c:/local disk space, without losing my data? ___

My d:/local disk is NTFS format and six times larger than my c:/local disk which is the FAT format. Drive c:/local is used with the program files window, & so I can't install the important updates, due to lack of disk space. My drive d:/local has about 90% of disk space.

He showed only 120 MB of space available on C:\ and none of the file names are not anywhere. The new HD E:\external lists ALL files and showed that about 3-GB had been transferred. Why can't I just clean the old C:\ HD? Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Apple suggested to replace the Internet Explorer browser with another and I had Firefox installed, available and repeated downloading and installing successfully. Automatic Updates/downloads have reduced my 10 GB of available disk space 500 MB. I replaced the original 10 GB HD with a new 80 GB drive and additional 128 MB of RAM. Which, as well as my external hard drive 1 TB should hold me until I can afford to replace this 10 year old system. Thank you all for your constructive comments!

  • Windows Vista PC keeps filling the disk space

Windows Vista PC keeps filling the disk space, but programs like Treesize and Windows Explorer are not all of the additional files.

The disc has about 45 GB of files, but the 220 GB drive is almost full. I suspect that a program will create orphaned files. CHKDSK is currently suspended from the second pass. Will try to run until the end of the day to the next.

I turned on the hidden files and protected, it is not that I can't see the files. What can account for 150 + GB of invisible disk space?  Indexing of Windows seems to be active, although the C drive was marked to not be indexed.

I know that a temporary internet file (content.ie5) is doubly hidden. Who had only 50 MB in it, so it's not the culprit. Any other hidden super-fichiers that everyone knows.

Running Trend Micro PC-Cillin. The history of this creation of orphaned files?

All the tools that look right at the MFT to see what is using the disk space and the avoidance of the directory tree?

This isn't a matter of a few directories being wholesale, or clean old files. The space used is not anywhere to be found.

Already run cleaning ccleaner and disk. Empty temporary files, Recycle Bin, etc. Only restore point. Registry clean with ccleaner.

Never did anything on computer that could use 150 GB of space.

If you look at just the computer, you can see disappearing disk space (maybe 1 GB an hour).

Always seems to happen if you disconnect from the internet.

Friend PC, so I did not have immediate access to it.

Whence the free number 'space '? I'm just that an orphan file will not be displayed in a search in directories or with Treesize, but will use up to 'free space '?

    No sign of a virus.

    Hello

Were there any changes made on the computer before the show?

I suggest to refer to the article and try to defragment the hard disk:

Improve performance by defragmenting your hard drive

I understand that you have already scanned the hard drive with anti-virus software, although I suggest you try to run an online scan and check if it helps:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: the Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again. The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
