Cancelled but nevertheless installed updates
For my business, I have patch various Windows operating system.
On a Windows Server R2 2012 server, many of the patches installed appear as "Cancelled" in the history of the update.
But if I look in the installed updates, the cancelled patches exist and I would be able to uninstall them.
My Question now is: what is the truth? Are the updates that appears "Canceled" installed or not?
Why they are listed in the installed updates if they appear as being cancelled?
Cancelled updates error code is 8024000.
Cmd /c %WinDir%\System32\Spupdsvc.exe Spupdsvc.old ren failed because the file does not exist.

Genuine key of Windows 7 but disc "wrong". Valid but cannot install updates!
Can anyone help? I have read similar problems, but I can't find a solution that works.
What I want to do is to do a completely fresh install on my laptop, but the laptop didn't come with a disc of resettlement or recovery disk; I could clone the drive, but I would try a new installation because of the laptop slows down for no apparent reason.
So what I did is use the disc to my PC Windows (or to be more precise downloaded from Microsoft that I have lost the original) to see if it would work on the laptop:
I swapped the hard drive to a blank test.
Then I installed Windows Premium 64-bit OEM on the laptop.
Installed a network driver to go online.
Click on "validate now".
"Invalid product key" message appeared.
I typed in the same product again (real key for Asus laptop) key in the box 'Try another key' and tried again.
Accepted, active Windows key.
I clicked on "Update Now" and it hangs just forever.
I tried all the usual methods to make it work, but it's as if the key is valid and invalid, the only thing that downloads is the KB2534111 fix. I can manually install updates, but nothing will download from the center of update of Microsoft and nothing will be installed.
Is there a simple solution? I'm currently waiting (and waiting and waiting) for an answer from Asus to see if there is a Windows 7 disk to my laptop (Asus X53Z). My suspicion is that the product key was validated somehow offline but not online. It's just, I can't say.
Thank you very much.
Try this:
Click Start-> type-> right click cmd.exe and click Run as administrator.
Then, run the following commands:CD %windir%\System32
net stop wuauserv
Ren c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old
net start wuauserv
Now, close the window and check the updates.
If the problem persists, try resetting update components:

If the problem persists, perform the clean boot and check:

My laptop is stuck at "Installing Update 2 of 5" and will not stop or start.
I went to close my laptop (toshiba satellite) earlier today and after several hours noticed he did not close, but was locked up in the "if it please do not turn off or unplug your machine. Installing Update 2 of 5 "with the circle"busy ". 'Ctrl alt delete' tried to get up but Task Manager no response. Power finally closed off and tried to start but same "install update" screen comes up which is locked. Tried to boot into safe mode with F8 key but used. I have no installation disc that Vista has been loaded on the machine again but I have created a recovery disk when I started the laptop because that's what he recommends. I have Vista Home premium. Help please. Thank you
Hello
I guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.
This exit Windows updates on (after you have access) and stop the updates of the driver to load.

Installed updates shows no updates (no install story) updated Windows Vista.
Maybe a command run in the registry might work, but I don't know what to write. All of the updates is located in windows > c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution > reportingevents (. txt), and in the downloads, same place. I downloaded wups2.dll, (somewhere, someone wrote that it might be the solution), but I can't kopi in the folder? Special rights are needed, I don't know who. I don't know what to do, I looked everywhere for days, please help.
Renaming or removing...
%System%\C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution<>
or remove the content of (or rename)...
%System%\SoftwareDistribution\downloads<=this>=this>
would delete your update history but not installed updates (as would be in difficulty he 50202 aggressive mode).

downloaded iTune latest updates but not install
I have a desktop iMac, running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.5. My problem is with the Mac App Store. There are two updates for iTunes. The iTunes 12.4 update has been downloaded at least 5 X and update 12.4.1 at least 6 X. Although each download is listed in the category "Installed updates in the last" 30 days, none have installed. My Info 'on iTunes' lists me still have iTunes 12.3.3.17. Wasn't sure, but I restarted my computer after each download anyway. no change.

Question
I have another type of problem with Firefox
Description
Window "Ready to Install" Firefox "Software Update" appeared. The folder "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\0" contained the files update.mar, update.status and update.version. Each of the 3 files have been deleted. The next time that Firefox has been started, no update occurred because update files were missing. In the Menu bar, clicking Help showed in the menu drop-down that "apply downloaded update now" was always on the list. By clicking on "Apply downloaded update now" open "Software Update" window "Ready to install update", so that Firefox still considers that the update files exist, but they do not. In the window "Software Update", by clicking on "Restart Firefox" restart of Firefox, but once again it there's no update, and remains "apply downloaded update now" on the Help menu. How can "Apply downloaded update now" be replaced by "Check for Updates" so the update files can be downloaded?
Version of Firefox
3.6.3
Operating system
Windows XP

You can manually reset the software update feature by closing Firefox and remove the file "updates" (which seems you have done) and the two files "active - update.xml" and "updates.xml" - these are in the installation (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) directory or in the profile folder (C:\Documents and Settings\nom_utilisateur\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\something.default).
If it does not, see our KB article How to resolve the failure of the update of Firefox update error message - the section of 'last resort' can be useful, or or read this article from MozillaZine KB, software update.
Please let us know how the above work, and if we can be of further assistance.
