So I have done no amendment or change in software. the only change I made to it was not renew norton and goes with vast (free).

  The other day, it suddenly wouldn't boot Win Vista 32 in all. My monitor at startup (before config utility appears) had colored vertical lines across the screen. I immediately thought 'virus' or ' fan isn't card graphic blown is screwed/false driver downloaded... I enter safe mode with network, no problem with the monitor (no lines) and tried driver restore, but also to download nividia the updated. Nothing seemed to work except safe mode (s), system configuration, start the Setup program, CTRL I (don't remember which menu is), & screen of the system restore/repair/diagnose. I tried all the reboot thing pilots config, patterns of change (hard disk only), boot it. When you go to the splash screen (a back screen on startup), no line either... I tried the system restore, did not a thing... I tried the verification of diagnosis, all right... all equipment, the repair of the system did nothing...

  So I take the side box power off to check the components inside to see if any wiring was loose, fans not working/salty, etc... everything OK there besides fan a little dirty. Clean, same thing. Here comes the fun part...

  Now, I backed up all my files and 'backup' on my external hard drive... I thought that I had made the recovery discs or he had came with it when I bought it... I changed the configuration settings RAID0 by removing the old installation and turned to the raid no drives. Then, I created a RAID0 again... I guess you know where this is going...

  He said now insert the boot cd... Now, it of not anything but let me in Control Panel and change the startup preferences...

  I have no recovery disk or I can't find what happened if I have... with backup (for USB) external drives will not work... I kind of looking online hp without result and I saw some online, but that seems pretty shady, especially with the case of the OS...

  I will not buy another office, if I can help it, but I need to know if there is something I can do?

  Hello:

  Yes, I've been able to do it once, but you also need an operating system installation disk. You need a USB FDD + OS installation disc and the correct drivers of course on the floppy drive.

  I found a solution from the link below, and I now have my whole 4TB after the installation of Windows 8. Here's the part that I missed until I posted my question:
   -You will have to format a USB drive in FAT32 (it's just - FAT32, not NTFS).
  -And then copy all the files on the USB windows installation.
  -Then go into the BIOS and the value of the USB key as your startup preferences.
  -Install Windows 8 from the USB key.
  There are other BIOS setting to be carried out as well. Everything is explained there.

• ESXi 5 not recognizing cpu Intel Q6600 with 4 cores

  Howdy all,

  I tried to solve this problem for about a month now, even bought a CPU replacement that concerns me that I got too old 'default' Core2 Duo.

  In any case; I had a work ESX installation I know I upgraded to 5 (until I made a stupid mistake with an rm command and the base of a hypervisor folder - I was looking in the driver files, curiosity etc..). I am now questioning my own sanity as well as the idea that I had updated it beyond 4.1, I was sure that... but I digress again. I tried reinstalling already installing a larger hard drive and ESX is installed and then "moved" my VM to host data store. However whenever I try to install ESX, it recognizes more than one heart... It's driving me crazy! In the vSphere Client summary inventory I "processor Sockets: 1" and "Core per Socket: 1"...» I'll try this weekend with a hard drive from a work ESX install another motherboard... However I prefer not having to buy new parts/server this time until I'm sure that my classes are defective.

  All the advice offered to get my installation re-run would be welcome...

  A few things to try.

  • Reset the BIOS to factory default and re - apply date/time and startup preferences.
  • Try a new installation to update ESXi 5 1 on another drive and see if anything shows up properly
  • Try to restore the bios to 2001 or in 1901.

  I had too long back, I forgot how I solved this, but it seems I've played with the boot options in the Embeded OC4J Server preferences such question.

  Navigation: Tools--> the Embeded OC4J server--> startup preferences
  In the host name or IP address used...
  Select default display name the local IP address or the Local host, and then run the page, you can try all the options one by one.

• Preferences of trash on startup? Alert or not?

  I recently had my preferences for Illustrator in the trash and used the Cmd-Opt-Shift-Ctrl method.

  I was a little confused that it was not any alert confirming that I wanted to trash the prefs.

  Can anyone confirm that Illustrator doesn't give this alert dialog box when trashing the prefs?

• FCPX: Audio Units (NI Guitar Rig 5) hangs startup

  This isn't really a question, but after some problems start FCPX, some might find it useful.

  FCPX hung on starting. I tried reseting preferences (Command + Option), removed fcpbundles, etc. I kept getting the rotation beach ball at the start of the application. After digging in the Console, I recently installed Native Instruments Komplete Ultimate 10, and I was getting sound issues revolving around Guitar Rig 5.

  FCPX load these audio plugins at startup and when starting, because this plugin, it has been suspended. After his retirement (located in 5.component /Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/components/Guitar Rig), FCPX started without problem.

  There was a problem with Audio Units involving awhile back non - Apple AUs. The Native Instruments AUs have been corrected. I have NO Guitar Rig 5 FX and MFX and the loading in FCPX. You should go to Applications/Native Instruments/Service Center / and start the application Service Center and update your Native Instruments software.  [Other software OR I can attest personally are: Absynth 5 MFX, FM8 MFX, Reaktor 6 MFX and Reaktor 5 FX (and chauffeur).]

  Another problem is: FCPX only valid once AUs by update. Any changes or updates, you bring to your AUs, FCPX will ignore it until this update then.

  To force FCPX to revalidate your AUs:

  Go to Macintosh HD > users > YourUserFolder > Library > Preferences

  Find the file "com.apple.audio.infoHelper.plist" and throw it in the trash

  Revive FCPX. FCPX will revalidate AUs and they all need to take now.
