My laptop is stuck at "Installing Update 2 of 5" and will not stop or start.

I went to close my laptop (toshiba satellite) earlier today and after several hours noticed he did not close, but was locked up in the "if it please do not turn off or unplug your machine. Installing Update 2 of 5 "with the circle"busy ". 'Ctrl alt delete' tried to get up but Task Manager no response. Power finally closed off and tried to start but same "install update" screen comes up which is locked. Tried to boot into safe mode with F8 key but used. I have no installation disc that Vista has been loaded on the machine again but I have created a recovery disk when I started the laptop because that's what he recommends. I have Vista Home premium. Help please. Thank you

Hello

I guess that part of the question could be a driver which is really old or similar should not be loaded.

This exit Windows updates on (after you have access) and stop the updates of the driver to load.

  • Stuck in the dock icon. The system will not stop?

After the Java Update 1.8.91, whenever a Java application had been opened and closed again, the Java icon remains on the bench of the accused.

This isn't the real problem, stop via the Apple menu does nothing. The iMac not simply stopped. OS X 10.11.5. It is somehow in an intermediate state, where no other application opens more.

Here's what I've tried so far:

    1. Force quit changes logo from Java to a Terminal logo = > icon remains docked, without stop down via the Apple menu.
    2. By dragging the icon Java/Terminal to the desktop or the trash can displays the text "Remove", but won't actually remove the icon. Needless to say: stop always is not possible.
    3. Since the iMac is set up for multiple users, I can change via the user menu in the login window, and here I can click on the icon/symbol of closure. After you enter the credentials of the administrator, the system stops... Finally.
    4. I have already completely uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of Java (1.8.91). No change.
    5. The strange thing is, there is no Java process visible in the activity monitor or in the Terminal window when you use the top or ps commands...
    6. Disk utility = > first aid doesn't change anything either.
    7. In the console is a warning against a coreaudio with Java incompatibility... But I don't know how it might help the situation.

I have no idea process to kill or what to install/uninstall in order to launch a 'clean' close.

Advice or assistance is highly appreciated.

    Thank you.

I'm trying to stop my netbook, and it was stuck on installing update 1 of 14 for well over an hour.

    Hi Scouty7,

    1. perform the updates always installation?
2 you cannot stop the laptop?
    3. do you get an error at startup of the system?

Given the many updates installed on the computer, it is recommended to wait for the updates are installed successfully. Force reboot or stopping manually in the middle of the installation of updates can cause system start to fail.

    Hi kises2539,

    Method 1:

    1. download the stand-alone package with four updates at a time. You can download the stand-alone version of the link with the number of KB below:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads and check if the problem is resolved.

    2. start the clean boot computer and try to install the updates manually. Link below will help you to start the computer in clean boot:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Make sure that you reset the computer in normal mode (you can see step 7)
