  I used method 2, because I had already tried method 1 earlier, but the "fix it" went wrong. After reading the information from method 2, I opted to use my FireFox instead of IE8 browser, because I suspected that the process Internet Explorer that are included with the update was a large part of the cause of my problem. Among the options, I used Microsoft Download center to locate the update I needed and then through its validation and finally made the download and reboot. Voila!

  Can you please explain why the process more automated via IE did not work for me? Why I resorted to the labour process more that I used?   OK people! I found the answer myself. The only thing I did was to do a system restore to the nearest date when it started to happen and after a few minutes I got the key MSIServer and everything started working again! YAY!
