  Lately, I've been in trouble, adding images to help modify PDF > add images. I use Acrobat Pro DC on Mac OS X 10.11.6 (El Capitan), but it happened in 10.11.5 as well.

  When I open the PDF file, if I try to add a PNG image, it will show the PNG under the cursor, but I can't left click and I the PNG 'appear' in the PDF file (as it was). Just, the cursor moves with the image below, but will not respond to mouse clicks.   For now, here is a workaround.

  Without more information, it seems that your additional photo layers are not actually transparent at the edges.  How, exactly, do you create them?

  It might help capture your screen showing the layers panel when you see the problem (for example, when the grid appears above the background).

  Here is one of the many ways to do something thing like what you want:

  1. use the rounded Rectangle tool and the options set to create a path in the appropriate part of one of the images you want on top.

  

  2 convert the path into a selection.

  

  3. copy the pixels in the selection.

  

  4. make your background images in the current document and paste the pixels copied on the bottom.

  I've been away from RoboHelp for a while, but now I'm working with a new installation of version 7 with an old project (upgrade RH6). I have a problem, adding images to my subjects. Normally what I do is press CTRL + G to display the image properties dialog box, look for the JPG image to add (the path is placed in the name of the Image: field and a preview of my image is displayed), press OK and voila! The image appears in my account. Now, I can browse and select the name of the image, but the preview and image name fields are not updated. Pressing OK does not add the image to my folder.   It is not surprising that "everyone has a different way to do this." In Photoshop that is common. Try this:

  1. open a new file large enough to accommodate five drawings.

  2. open each design, click on it in the layers panel and drag and drop it in the layers panel to the new file.

  3. Repeat until all are in the new file

  4. use the move tool to reposition. (They are on separate layers)

  5 flatten the file if you wish (but save a version not flattened for future editing)
