Cannot associate an e-mail program on default programs, as none are listed

Original title: PROGRAM ASSOCIATION

I can not associate an e-mail program on default programs, as none are listed.  I a Mail.Live and an Outlook account, I can send and receive between my Comcast email, but the box 'contact us' on some websites have the error message stating "there is no e-mail program associated to this.  I don't have MS Office.  WTF?

If you use a Webmail and access them through your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer), mailto links will not work. Windows is looking for an email client by default than Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, etc.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

    1. You can access your e-mail by using Internet Explorer?
    2. You use a client like Windows Live mail or Microsoft Office Outlook e-mail program?
    3. When you receive the error message exactly?

This error is received when you try to perform a function without going through the required software, allowing a customer to e-mail. AOL or Hotmail address that they can be configured using an e-mail client program.

If you have an e-mail client installed on your system, you can set this program as default to avoid this error. See the section: set your default programs in the following link:

sbcglobal.NET is a web service provider Internet e-mail portal used by AT & T/Yahoo is notresides on your computer as a mail client
and therefore is not associated as an e-mail program on your computer. Windows 7 is an email client which can be associated as an e-mail program
but, you must configure it to access you AT & T/Yahoo webmail portal. It configures the look of Windows 7 for Windows Live Mail
just like the old Outlook Express did. If you use it, it will download all your emails AT & T/Yahoo and contacts to your computer.

    Two points:

Windows Live Mail is no not part of Windows 7 and if it's on the computer, that is if the seller it comes with Win 7.

Also, if it's a US or CA, Yahoo account, and that you have not subscribed to Yahoo Mail Plus, then you cannot access the account of WLMail.

  • Adobe Reader cannot open my e-mail program

I scanned a document, Adobe reader says it can't open my email program, so I am unable to send it.

    Workaround solution-

    1. save the scanned document to your hard drive (where you can find it).

    2. open your e-mail program.

    3. start a new email.

    4. attach the scanned document to email (manually using traverse it to button or what is equivalent to locate the scanned document that you previously saved on your hard drive where you can find it).

    4 complete email and send.

  • Cannot change the default e-mail program

I tried to change the default email program in Vista to Thunderbird by following the instructions found on many sites (Control Panel, programs by default, set your default programs, and then I select Thunderbird, then I click on "set this program as default").

However, when I try to send a document as an attachment directly from the application in question (Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, etc.), I get an error message that says: "no profiles have been created.  To create a new profile, use the Mail icon in Control Panel.  I believe that used to work at some point, although I did have this computer for a long time, so maybe it's that he has never worked on this computer.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

It is usually the case with an update of Office, it will reset Outlook as the e-mail Manager by default and assign it all by default available values.  You will need to return to "default programs |" Set your default programs and reset Thunderbird as default and there all available default values assigned.  It is usually a good idea to set Thunderbird as default under "default programs |" The value of program access computer settings by default and after finishing upward on the tab "Set your default programs" by Ramesh was mailed. Please do not forget that * every * Office Update, you receive will probably reset Outlook as Manager default e-mail, and you will need to repeat this process whenever they do.

    Hi PAULKRISSEL,

This function is not supported natively in Windows. You may may find a third of the program that will change the default to q.com.

  • Wrong default mail program

One of my users has a XP pro machine that insists that outlook Express is the default mail program. In the Internet/program Options, Outlook is selected as the default e-mail program. In Outlook Tools/Options/other, making Outlook the default e-mail program is checked. If I start Outlook Express and look at the options, it says that OE is NOT the default e-mail program. If I go to control panel and click on Mail, Outlook is the only profile.

However, if I click on start/run and type address mailto:*** E-mail is removed from the privacy *, OE turns on.

    Any ideas?

    That defy all logic.
Try going into control panel of-> Internet Options-> programs (tab)
and select a different element to the e-mail program.  Then press "OK" your way out.
Then go to Internet Options, click on Control Panel and return to Outlook and "OK" your way on.   It is a long shot, but maybe recover.

  • Windows Vista - I would use a third-party e-mail software as my default e-mail instead of Microsoft Mail program

When I transferred my files from my XP system to my Vista system I brought over my Eudora e-mail program. It works fine on the system, but when I run it, I get a dialog box saying "Eudora could not update the system registry. Your default e-mail program was changed. ». Once, click OK, I'm off to the races. How can I get the "Set Default Programs" in the start menu to see my Eudora application so I can put it as my default? Thank you.

Eudora must be running in administrator mode, otherwise it will not be able to make changes to your system. Right-click on Eudora shortcut in the start menu or on the desktop, where you got it and click "Run as Administrator".

  • Setup Eudora as the default e-mail program

    Hello

    Operating system: Win7

I have always (for the right reasons) sue Eudora as my main e-mail client.  Whenever I installed a Windows Update, Windows set Outlook as my client, but it has been noticed by Eudora which, early on, was told that he was no longer the default client.  I could easily change that by starting Eudora as an administrator and then clicking on the option to make it my default e-mail client.

BUT from the windows of the last updated, it no longer works and Eudora told me that it was impossible to change the registry (even when starting as an administrator).

I tried to restore Eudora as the default e-mail program by going to wut Start\Default program that eudora does not appear here and I can't change the (set on Outlook) to Eudora MAPI option because this option is greyed out...

How can I restore Eudora as my default mail (mainly for the mailto protocol) client?

I found myself a solution that may be useful to other people faced with the same or similar problems.

1 each (major) Windows Update and for reasons known only to Microsoft, registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\mailto\shell\open\command key has been changed and gives the order to outlook... (even if it was for Eudora before the update).

2 Eudora could not change this key (and restore the command again to Eudora.exe) even when run as administrator because this key is protected...  (I noticed that I couldn't change the key manually).

    3. However, when I gave permission to administrators to modify this key and restarted the computer, Eudora (run as root) could change the key which now reads: C:\PROGRA~2\Qualcomm\Eudora\Eudora.exe/m %1, which is what to do...

So, problem solved, but why Microsoft protected this key during one if its last update remains a mystery.

  • How to determine whether Outlook is the default e-mail program Windows 7

There are a number of postings on Internet in the topic configure Outlook (I use Outlook 2013) as the default e-mail program. I can go into Control Panel, default programs, select Outlook, click on set this program as default and click OK. However, I don't see any indication that I've accomplished anything. Windows Explorer to open a folder that contains .jpg files.

Right-click on one of them, then click on 'send '.

Select "E-Mail" as a target. Windows will now open the default mail Manager.
