  • Wrong icon in the Menu Start 10 Acrobat

I have Acrobat X Pro on a new computer running Windows 10. Recently, I noticed that the Acrobat icon on my menu start changed the icon Photoshop PS. When I click it, it opens Acrobat, but it is the icon of the PS on the taskbar. When I go to the location of the application in Windows Explorer, the .exe file has the correct Acrobat icon. If I create a shortcut on the desktop, the icon is also correct. When I pin the shortcut or .exe file in the menu start, however, it replaces the PS icon. When I right click and go to properties, the 'change icon' button is grayed out.

While this does not seem to take into account the problems of functionality, it is annoying and I worry, it might be another matter. MalwareBytes scans turned up clean, but obviously I am concerned also with the possibility of a virus. I tried 'Repair Acrobat Installation' as well, but no luck.

I don't know if this is something Acrobat or a problem of Windows 10, since it seems to happen only with the icon on the start menu. The only possibility I can think is that I had done research on some software manipulation of PDF for the client's work. I don't know if this has changed in some way of the icon. I uninstalled the software and the icon is always false. I know, he had problems with PDF being changed for Firefox symbols at the time, but PDF files are very well. It is only the Acrobat itself and only the icon on the start menu.

In any case, I want to remove Acrobat before moving on to the search in Windows 10 as the culprit.

    Than you!

I had the same problem and solved with the following workaround.  Detach your Launcher Acrobat in the task bar and create a new shortcut on the desktop of the "acrobat.exe" in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat DC\Acrobat (not from the start menu). Open this shortcut Acrobat and while it is open, PIN to the taskbar.  You can safely delete the shortcut on the desktop after it and the correct icon will stick.

  • Out of track in the Menu start flashing in the window that closes then (XP and W7)

I send the output of this command: "ipconfig/all" to a developer to obtain a software license.  When I enter this command in run of the menu start, the output flashes briefly in a window on the screen and then closes.  I can't read the output as it closes so fast.  This has happened in XP and W7 in Fusion (versions 2 and 3).  In Parallels, the window did not close but remained on screen so that I could copy or captures screen information in an e-mail.  Does anyone have a work around for this?  Is this a bug of merger?  Thank you.

It is certainly not a question of Fusion.

What you need to do is type 'cmd' in Start Menu Run which will create a terminal window.

Starting from that, windows command "ipconfig/all".

Finally to complete it type "exit".

  • Do not open the Menu start XP programs

I have an embarrassing question on which I could use some suggestions.

I have a user whose start menu does not work properly.  She can click on start and cascade through the menu to any program, but when she clicks on the program to start it, delete the start menu and nothing happens.

In the taskbar, it cannot switch between programs.

Programs will launch quick launch as planned.

On his desk, she can click on folders or shortcuts and that they work as expected.

I copied the folder to the start menu to his office, and she is able to switch between open programs using the Alt - Tab key combination.  It has the features between these two solutions.  But, although other users do not start to his computer often, it affects all users.  I would like to find a solution.

With respect to the environment and the measures taken:

The operating system is Windows XP, Service Pack 3.  Yes, there are 3rd party applications.  A lot of them.  No, they cannot be deleted (and they are not suspects - later).  It is an environment of large companies in the financial sector and is highly regulated.  User authentication is via Active Directory.  The desktop environment is tightly controlled by the restriction of administrative rights and Group Policy objects.  This user and users in its region use roaming profiles.

I have rebuilt the user profile (Yes, two copies - the and itinerant) more than once.  No effect.

I have reimagee the computer of the user more than once.  It will work as expected for a few minutes, sometimes all day, but the issue will be back.

I replaced the machine.  It will work as expected for a few minutes, sometimes all day, but the issue will be back.

I replaced the machine in tandem with a reconstruction of profile.  It will work as expected for a few minutes, sometimes all day, but the issue will be back.

It can connect to any other machine in its region and they all work as expected.  The machines are all the same image.  That's why the 3rd party applications are not suspected.  That's why his profile is not a suspect.

So.  His profile is very good.  Its hardware is fine.  The image is stable.  The rest is its connection to the local network, but I have a hard time believing that something in its routing path might be the cause.

    I'm open to suggestion.

    Thank you

    Tommy

    Hi heshie75v,

    1. does the computer boot to the desktop?
    2. don't you make changes before the show?

We assume that the computer starts on the desktop after ignoring this error message. We recommend that you check if a non-Microsoft program is defective. To do this, try the following steps:
    a. open the article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353
    b. method 2, follow steps 1 and 2, and then restart the computer to see if the problem persists.
    c. If the problem does not persist in the boot, then follow step 3 and step 4 to find out which is the origin of the problem, and once you have found the culprit, uninstall the program and check the result.

Note: Don't forget to follow the steps in the steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state"" section.

  • Duplicate record programs on the menu 'start '.

I noticed that since I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 there is a folder of programs duplicate in my Start Menu under all programs. It includes a copy of all the shortcuts and folders already in my menu. I remember a difficulty when I had the same problem a long time ago when you access the properties of the start menu and uncheck the default program. Solution explained here: http://jen3ral.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/vista-start-menu-duplicate-programs-folder/
However, this solution does not work for Windows 7 and I got the same thing, or at least a similar problem again. Is anyway to fix this?

    Hello Rlx3,

    (a) are there other duplicate files and folders?

I suggest you check and disk cleanup if this can help clear the folders and files in doubles.

To delete files using disk cleanup

The following procedure cleans the files associated with your user account. You can also use Disk Cleanup to clean all the files on your computer.

    1. open Disk Cleanup by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Disk Cleanup, and then in the list of results, click Disk Cleanup.

    2. in the drives list, click the drive you want to clean, and then click OK.

    3. in the Disk Cleanup dialog box, on the Disk Cleanup tab, select the check boxes for the types of files that you want to remove, and then click OK.

    4. in the message that appears, click delete files.

For more information, please see the link below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup

Also I suggest to run an online virus scan to remove malicious programs running on the computer, please visit the below mentioned link to run the online scan

    http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

I hope this information helps. Please get back to us if you have any other questions on this subject.

  • Presario stuck in the menu start repair

Last night the cover on Presario laptop computer brand got slammed. Now when I go to start it continues to run in the repair start saying that it could take more than an hour to perform the repairs. He will not get off that cycle will restart and return to the same. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hello

Try to rebuild the data to start manually as follows.

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Your laptop is listed as coming with 64-bit - ISO for this at the link below.

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  One time created, or if you already have this, typing away at the esc key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the rescue CD.  Select boot options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.

When loading, select repair your computer and choose the command prompt.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart the laptop.

  • Cannot find Netflix in the Menu

I installed the system update n ° 191 on my drive Blu - Ray Sony BDP-n460 and netflix software has disappeared. I can't find anywhere in the menu of the Blu - Ray player. Is it possible to re - install the software of netflix to my reader?

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.

If you can't get Netflix thumbnail appears after the last update, and then disconnect the internet and reestablish the network connection. If connected to the internet successfully unity will refresh the content of the internet and Netflix should appear. In the case where the enemies of the Netflix icon does not open, power cycle network (router and modem) and try again. Once again, if the results do not stop with the icon of Netflix appearing then contact the Sony Support by clicking here:

  • Programs missing from the Menu start Windows 7 Enterprise

We do some tests before a possible deployment was of Win 7 and have encountered a problem of Menu start which left us speechless. On the machine in question, a number of programs and files 'disappeared' in the menu 'programs'. When you look at the two folders that should be merged to display this menu, programs and missing files are present, but those that are listed in the user profile do not appear in the start--> list all programs from the Start button Menu. The records are "Start\program C:\Users\%user_profile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start" and "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start start\program". Any idea where we should consider? Y at - it all Ploicy of ad group that can have an impact on this? We run W2K8 - R2 on our servers so that the announcement should be OK with Win 7. Help! Ralph Miller

This may mean that you have over 70 entries in the two Start Menu > programs files. Try to click the Windows Orb (start), click all programs, and then click Open. Again right click all programs, and then click Open all users. Right-click the taskbar, and then click windows next door. Take a look in the two program records and if it has more than 70 entries, some of them combine or create subfolders. Right click on the task bar to cancel the side by side.

Finally, using the Task Manager, terminate and restart Explorer or reboot the computer to refresh the list.
