Cannot change my username after a migration

I did a migration from an older iMac to a new iMac. My old username was PROM, after migration, my new user name is ball 1. From the Finder, I tried to rename the ball 1 to the BALL, but I can't because there is no option to rename. In system preferences > users and groups, my username's BALL, but in the Finder, the name of the main user directory is ball 1. How can I change the name of the user directory to match my username (in users and groups)?

I have a problem with Time Machine and I think it could be related. Thank you.

    I recently migrated my old Tungsten e - whose battery life started shit after years of use - to a new Tungsten E2.  To my horror, I found that even if I change the contacts on the Palm Desktop, when I edit existing on my Tungsten E2 device contacts, after that I have make changes & press 'fact - fact-[complete]', the changes I made are not actually saved.  Indeed, I'm unable to change existing contacts on my device.

    After some tests, I found that this problem is true only for my legacy contacts records that have been migrated from my old Palm.  If I create a new contact, the new Tungsten E2 or via the desktop record, I can edit it and make changes without problem on the handheld.  (Note that I can edit notes, back and some calendar entries without problem).

    I have the Palm OS v. 5.4.7 on the device and the Palm Desktop 4.1.4 on the XP PC.

    I suspect that the problem is related to the fact that last spring I upgraded my PC at home and a MacBook Pro for a period months I HotSync my Palm Tungsten E to work on my XP machine and then also home for my new MacBook Pro (I like the idea of two sets of backups).  It worked well in time.  But now that I've migrated to the Tungsten E, I wonder if some not-so - wonderful things were made to my contact records of sync for two different platforms at home and work.  Note for both I used the desktop software Palm native to HotSync (a pleasure on XP, less on the Mac).

    Yesterday, I spent two hours with Palm time support staff via chat online and also on the phone.  After several soft resets, resets hard to export my contact data and then - import, blah and blah, their conclusion was, "sorry, your data is corrupted, we cannot help you.'  Hmmm.

    I am interested in anyone's thoughts on how to solve this riddle.  My bet is it's fixable with the right know-how.

    After recently migrating a virtual machine manually (downloaded all the files from the environment virtualcenter 3.5 data store, copied in a vsphere environment completely separate data store, vmdk has added to the inventory)

    I get this error when you try to go back to a snapshot.  (All snapshot files are also copied to the new location)

    Hmmm maybe it's not possible to access the MySafe because the laptop is a part of the domain of s.
    I guess that the laptop was not included in the field when the user has used and saved the files in my safe.
    So maybe you could try to reverse the settings and then you might try to enter the folder MySafe.

Today, when I try to change the settings, I see that the options are grayed out. Why is it so? This is a limitation of vmware. Do I have to delete the snapshots before making changes? Which will remove the ability to roll back changes if necessary. I'm under Windows 2008 R2 virtual machines.

    Virtual disks can only increase if they have no active snapshots. The snapshot files contains modified data blocks that correspond to their parent records, and this mapping I lost if you have increased a virtual disk with snapshots.

    2. You have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

    I suggest that you try to start in safe mode and then try to log on to Windows using the default Administrator account and then remove the password for your account, check if it helps.

  • I need help with start up after changing the username.

    I downloaded El Capitan on my MacBook Air without any problem.  Then, I changed my username under user accounts.  I restarted my computer, as has been suggested, but now when I type my password to connect, it just goes to the El Capitan background screen and nothing opens.  All I see is the color wheel and the display of the mountain.  I think that its not to recognize my account.  How can I fix?     How did you change your username?

    You cannot change an account name in system preferences. You can add or delete accounts and change a password, but change the real name requires a lot of technical work via the Terminal application.

    This same event happened to me after you apply the update to MUSE before the update today, 08/01/2013.  All the links that are applied to the text on my web pages still exist, however, I cannot change.  The same situation applies to the associated ToolTip.  Please note that the links exist yet - I am simply unable to change after you apply the update today.  If I preview the page in a browser or that you publish the page, all the links work.  The only way I can apply a change is to remove each link and recreate.

    In addition, please note that links that I created in the vertical menu widgets appear very well!  I can view and edit them.  It seems that this problem only affects links applied to the text.  The images are included for reference.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

    What version of Muse you were updated to? We made a few changes important UI hyperlinks for version 3, which came out a month ago, so the passage of the 2.x to 3.x would cause some of these issues. I'm trying just to rule out the possibility that the upgrade to 3.0 or 3.1 and 3.2 caused this, because just dot release had a bug fixes.

    We had the similar problem in the past, our problem is:
    Problem:
    We have removed weblogic default security domain user and create a new user when Manager nodes and managed servers declined. When we try to put in place managed servers after the starting node Manager we continue get refused authentication errors.

    Solution:
    Recreate the user weblogic now try and implement servers managed from the command line using weblogic user. Once they are up to tap them down and bring them to the top again with the new user you created and it will work

    Reason:
    The 10.3-managed servers seems to store the local credentials he managed ldap or cache servers. When you start managed servers don't know the new information of identification and authentication performed against the old values of credentials stored, where they fail. Once they are started with the information identification old they communicate with the admin servers to sync it hides with admin servers and new identification information is updated and then you can restart the servers managed with the new credentials.
    Note: Sometimes after reboot you can meet the problem as the synchronization with the administration server process is asynchornous, weblogic prints a line saying something like asynchronous operation with the null Server address. If the line is printed sync has arrived and you're good. In case you do not see the line to reboot once again and you will see the line after which you can restart with the new credentials.
