Hello
Were there any changes (hardware or software) to the computer before the show?
Put the computer to boot and see if it helps.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
Note: follow step 4 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

I have reported this problem on my PC at home that connects to the internet. My laptop runs Vista Home Premium and I can't connect to the internet. I took my laptop on a trip, tried to connect to the wireless network that was free to the place we are. Could not connect, and after this initial test, the following is displayed after the start of "failed to connect to the Windows Service, Windows cannot connect to the system event notification service. This problem prevents limited users to logon to the system. As administratvie user, you can view the system event log to see why the service did not respond. "(have no idea how or what it means) when I go to the task bar you want to connect to a network, it is said:" the dependency service or group could not start"and if I go ahead and press"connect to a network"it says it can't find. I search for computers on the network (who I'm sitting next to) and then try to diagnose the problem and it cannot. I have limited knowledge of this type of problem. Anyone have this problem and how to fix it?
Hi ptkein,
Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of Windows Vista.
Option 1: You can download and install the latest network card drivers and see if that can solve the problem.
Option 2: Follow the link below to fix network connection problems
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-network-connection-problems
Option 3: Follow the link below to solve Internet connection problems
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-Internet-connection-problems
Option 4: To verify if a third party application is a cause, follow this link (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode) for this boot to the desktop using the safe mode with networking option and try to install the network. If the problem is resolved, you will need to perform a clean boot by following the steps in the following article to refine the exact source and isolate it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Let me know if it worked.
Hope it will be useful.
Thank you and best regards,

When I start windows, the message that I get a black screen is Windows (Vista) cannot start because the file is missing or corrupt:
\system32\ntoskrnl.exe. Please reinstall a copy of the above file. I tried to launch a system of diagnosis without a disk and everything going on. I then tried running windows in safe mode and it won't allow me. That's when I switched to an installation disc supplied with the system. I tried to recover the system from there, but it would not go beyond the option of choosing an operating system. Once I got to that screen, there was NO operating system choose.
I tried to restore my computer and there is no restore point.
I renounced restore my computer and thought I'll all start over and install windows vista all over again. This was not the case either. I followed these steps:
Turn on your computer and insert the CD or the DVD of Windows Vista.
Install Windows page, follow all of the instructions that appear, and then clickInstall now.
On the Get updated important for installation page, we recommend getting the latest updates to help ensure a successful installation and to help protect your computer against security threats. You will need an Internet connection to get the installation updates.
On the Type your product key for activation page, we strongly recommend that you type your 25-character product key in order to avoid problems during activation.
On the Please read the license terms page, if you agree to the terms of the license, clickI accepts the terms of the license.
Follow the instructions on each page. On the type of installation do you want? page, clickCustom.
On the place where you want to install Windows? page, select the partition where you want to install.
Click next to begin the installation. You can see a compatibility report.
and then had this error that says;
windows doesn't have can create a partition on disk 0. The error occurred when preparing the partition selected for installation. Error code: 0x80004005.
Now I am stuck and don't know what to do.
Someone at - it solutions for me. Help, please.

Attempt to restart the Gateway system running XP Pro. The message "Windows has not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\system32\ntoskrnl.exe" Please reinstall a copy of this file. What do I do and where is this file? There is a good chance that the disk check running the Recovery Console will solve the problem.
1. Insert the Windows XP CD in your CD-ROM drive and restart your computer. If you are prompted, select any options needed to start (boot) on the CD.
2. when the text portion of Setup begins, follow the prompts. Select the repair or recovery option by pressing R.
3. If you have a dual-boot or multiboot system, select the installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console.
4. When you are prompted, type the administrator password. If you have not set a password for the account admin simply press on enter
5. at the command prompt, type chkdsk/r > press ENTER. (Note: there is a space between the slash and the letter k).

file HAL.dll
When I start my computer I get a message that says that the file\system32\hal.dll. is damaged or missing. Please reinstall a copy of the file. I have the original Windows XP CD and I tried to re - install, but it will not go beyond the implementation of window. I can't sign in to windows. How can I reintall this file? It's extremely likely that you will need to replace the hal.dll and since there are seven files on the XP installation CD that will extend into hal.dll, which would you choose? It depends on your hardware, but it is extremely likely that the problem (did I already say that?). I've never had to replace a file hal.dll for this problem.
The real problem is most likely that XP just can not find the file because of a file system corruption or a file c:\boot.ini afflicted.
For this error, I would always be first boot from the XP Recovery Console and sometimes run a chkdsk-r that will fix things right to the top.
If the chkdsk /r is clean and you have the same problem, and then re-create your c:\boot.ini file but rename the old one first so you don't build on top of those afflicted - this tidbit is absent from MS KB article that assumes too.
You can do all this in the XP Recovery Console, but do go through these methods in this article and see how you go.
For example, method 1 will not work if your system does not start. You may have more luck with other "methods".
If that doesn't work, then I suggest to provide a little more information about your system:
Since the Microsoft Answers forum does not have any kind of information system request when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system. Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.
Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.
Provide information on your system, the better you can:
What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Your system have IDE or SATA disks?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)
The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?
You have a real installation CD bootable XP which is the same Service Pack as your installed Service Pack? (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?
If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Cannot connect to the VMServer on Windows 7
Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit
installed VMware-server - 2.0.2
This installation failed with various errors
until that I specified the /NCRC switch in the invocation of the installer
Once installed, Firefox, I was able to access
http://127.0.0.1:8222 , and I get a login dialog box
the computer-> local users and groups-> users management
We see that there are only 4 users on the computer. 2 of those
users are accounts that were created when I installed
the operating system. I use these accounts all the time on site and also
actions within my network. None of these accounts
have been able to connect. the 3rd user is "Guest", and I couldn't
no newspaper in the comments. The 4th user is "__vmware_user__. When
you try this user, the error message generated by VMware
changes of server, which tells me that I'm on the right track.
Unfortunately, I do not know the password for this account,
because of course, it was created during the installation. I have reset
the password for this user and now after having supplied the
username and password for VMServer Panel, I get an error
message telling me:
You do not have the permissions to connect to the server.
I should anyone has any ideas on how proceed?
The account you use must be a local administrator with a non-empty password. I suggest the creation of a new local user with a non-empty password, add them to the local group administrators and then try to connect to the VMware web console with this account.

Some programs cannot connect to the internet on Windows Vista?
I'm unable to connect to the internet, such as Internet Explorer, programs/games programs that use a program that download in the same way to torrents, almost everything that is to connect to the internet for more information. The only programs that can access the internet are Firefox and a few games I downloaded before this problem occurred. I tried to disable the Windows Firewall, leaving the programs through Windows Firewall, but still nothing.
You use Norton or McAfee - Script disable blocking if you can. If this is not the case, try to uninstall the application and start the game again.
