Cannot copy external images in photoshop

Hi all

I'm new to photoshop, I use the Trial Version of Adobe Photoshop CS3. I am facing after publication:

[1] I created a new custom canvas, 500 X 500 pixels, RGB color

[2] I opened a picture to work, which became my background

[3], and then I tried to copy another image from my local computer on the bottom, so I right click this image, selected "copy" and in my photoshop when I tried to 'stick' the image, I have not any option to do so. I checked the tab 'Edit' and 'paste' is greyed out.

I want basically, it is that when I copy an external image in my PS over a background, it should come another layer on top. Since I am new to this I am facing problem while doing this while I talked to a lot of videos on youtube that shows doing exactly what I'm trying to do.

I would appreciate if anyone can let me know how to proceed.

Thank you

Open the image in Photoshop, do a Select--> all (Ctrl + a), then copy & paste. Copy & paste files has nothing to do with the copy & paste data in the programs.

    SRY for mistakes!

    1. The obvious first question - is the flash drive large enough to hold 8 GB of photos?

  • When I try to copy a file to an external device using Windows Explorer I get the following error message: "cannot copy. The directory or file cannot be created. »

    original title: could not copy files

    When I try to copy a file to an external device using Windows Explorer I get the following error message: "cannot copy.  The directory or file cannot be created. "I understand that I may have the physical limit of USB keys for the root directory.  How can I fix it?

    Hi GloriaZF,

    What is the size of your external hard drive and what is the available free space? Open my computer-> right click on the external hard drive-> properties. You will not be able to copy more data if the disk is full, or who have less space compared to the size of the file you are trying to copy.

    You need to remove the order data to make the space more. Deleted data from the device USB will be permanently deleted and will not be stored in your Inbox, so take care while eliminating unnecessary data.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot copy images from any type of disc. ??

    Cannot copy pictures on any type of disc. the computer behaves as if she is unable to format the drive? I thought that this was done automatically.

    Hello

    ·        What is the exact error that you are experiencing when you try to burn the disk?

    ·        Outside photos, you are able to burn other files on the disk?

    ·        You use any burning software to burn the photos to disk?

    Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

    I suggest to format the drive and check if you are able to burn discs or not. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    a. be aware that Windows XP, in its native form, does not directly support CD formatting. Formatting a CD requires support for the ISO images that is missing from Windows XP.

    b. download or buy CD and formatting of third-party burning software. Third-party CD utilities include features like CD burning, imaging of CD and the CD put fit.

    c. install the third-party software, following specific instructions in accordance with the software documentation. Many programs will require you to restart Windows to complete the installation. Close all other applications and do it.

    d. place the disk you want to format in the drawer. Make sure that it is in the drawer of CD - R or CD - R/W and not another tray (tray of DVD) or a simple CD player.

    e. start the third-party application and follow the instructions on the screen as they appear. Choose the "Format CD" option on the file menu, or choose 'Create a new CD.' This application controls tend to vary an application to, so be sure to check the documentation.

    f. don't forget to leave the CD in the taskbar until the process is completely finished. If you remove the CD before the completion of the formatting, you will ruin the disc.

    g. give a volume name to your new CD.

    I also suggest you to check the article mentioned below.

    Should which CD or DVD format I use?

  • Cannot copy image from a url from an invocation

    Hi, I do an application what and now work correctly, but I have a problem. When my application is called is reciving a url as follows:

    file:///accounts/1000/invoke/com.MyApp.image.open/xa000000000000a/IMG_00000027.jpg

    As you can see, this url points to an image, and is the uri from the received call parameter. At this stage I can show the image perfectly in my application (because it is invoked as a card in another application). The goal is to save the url of the image in a database for future access to the app. I tried to register the url because it is above, but now I understand why I could not properly gwendoline image (the stuff of card).

    Then I tried the following:

    void ApplicationUI::addRecord (const QUrl & url)
    {
    Create a new folder
    QDir (QDir::currentPath() + "/ shared/photos/").mkdir("myApp");
    Setting up the source url
    QString from = url.toString ();
    Setting up the destination path
    QString = QDir::currentPath() + ' / shared/photos/myApp ";
    Copy of the file
    QFile::copy (from, to);
    }

    I have permission to access_shared. I didn't really now what's the problem with that. I'm kinda a noob and I'd appreciate your advice and help. Thank you!

    Hello!

    Thank you!

    I achieve my goal like this:

    void ApplicationUI::addRecord (const QUrl & url)
    {
    Create a new folder
    QDir (QDir::currentPath() + "/ shared/photos/").mkdir("myApp");
    Get the file and file information
    QFile file (url.toString ());
    QFileInfo fileInfo (file);
    Setting up the source url
    QString from = url.path ();
    Setting up the destination path
    QString = QDir::currentPath() + ' / shared/photos/myApp / "+ fileInfo.fileName ();
    Copy of the file
    QFile::copy (from, to);
    }

    Originally, I used QString from = url.toString () and got:

    file:///accounts/1000/invoke/com.MyApp.image.open/xa0000000000058/IMG_00000066.jpg

    Then I tried = url.path () QString and I got:

    / Accounts/1000/Invoke/com. MyApp.image.Open/xa0000000000058/IMG_00000066.jpg

    In addition, I changed the setting to QString to QDir::currentPath() = + ' / shared/photos/myApp / "+ fileInfo.fileName ();

    Small piece that I could copy the image.

    Hope you find it useful!

    I want to edit my photos in photoshop, but when I try to load it, the screen says ' this version of bright room may require Photoshop plug-in version camera 8.7 to ensure compatibility. " Please update the camera raw plugin update available in the Photoshop Help menu tool.

    We have updated to 8.7, but still we can not transfer images in Photoshop of ambient light. Help please

    Photoshop CS5 has been out of production for several years. Adobe does not update the supported camera raw for older versions of Photoshop. If you want the latest greatest version of camera raw so it is necessary to subscribe to creative photography plan cloud. A lot of people don't like this idea and see no need to do so. Adobe offers a free DNG Converter that allows you to create copies of your raw DNG files. These DNG files contain the raw image data and can be used with older versions of camera raw. Here are the links:

    Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter: for Windows

Another concern is that forms don't simply copy a paste in photoshop as they usually do in other adobe software, it feels like a layer must be included to add or delete anything. How can I do the whole copy and paste in photoshop easier for me that I am new to it?  Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

  • Cannot copy file: cannot read the source code or drive WINDOWS XP

    I'm trying to transfer pictures on my old XP computer on an external hard drive.  After performing a backup on the drive hard seagate WD I went looking for pictures on the external hard drive, and they aren't there.  I went back on the XP machine and tried to copy the files to a CD but I get the message cannot copy file: cannot read the source code or the player.  I can open images but cannot move it to another folder or copy and paste pictures anywhere.  The photos are saved in an outdated version of microsoft's digital imaging software.  Help, please.

    Hello

    (1) is the specific question of the images?

    (2) where the images are on the computer?

    You can try the following methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:

    Configure the computer to clean start State to check software conflicts. See the following link on how to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

    Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 4 of the above article.

    Method 2:

    If the problem is specific to the pictures folder, then it might be a problem with permission. You can try to take ownership of the folder and check if you can transfer it. read the following article.

  • Cannot copy large video files from the camera

    Tried to copy a too large video from my camera.  Message says 'current picture cannot be copied' when I looked up the answers in 'help' it says connect the camera using the (MSC) usb mass storage class, and then use windows Explorer to copy the image to computer.  Please help me understand this.  I have to download or update a driver to do this?  Should I buy something?  Please don't laugh, but I'm lost.  All those who take the time to give me some step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated.

    Transfer of files from digital camera fails

    Symptom 3:

    When you try to transfer a single large file from a USB PTP camera to local hard disk drive (HDD) using the scanner and Camera Wizard, the file transfer does not immediately, and you receive the following error message:

    Scanner and camera Assistant the current image have not can be copied.
    To copy this image, click "Try Again." To no longer deal, click "Cancel".

    If you click Retry, returns the error message.

    Problem 3 occurs because an error occurs in the scanner and Camera Wizard

    Resolution:
    You can connect the camera using USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) instead of PTP. Then, transfer large files using Windows Explorer.

    When you connect your camera, it can map device memory as a player external and it give a letter under 'Computer' OR it can be configured to do this in the configuration menu of the camera.  Once you have a drive letter assigned under 'Computer' for the camera, locate the drive in question for the file you want and copy to your computer to office/etc in the same way you would any other file.

  • Copying of images from Compact Flash Card Reader on Windows 7 x 64 corrupts some image files.

    When the copy of Canon RAW files produced by a Canon EOS 40 d and Canon's EOS 5DMk2 Canon EOS 7 d a card compact flash on a PC running Windows 7 x 64 a small percentage of the files become corrupt. I tested it with several internal and external USB card reader, with the same results. Always the same images of a set of images on the card are corrupted. On my system with Windows Vista x 32 or Windows 7 x 32 this problem does not occur. If you copy an image corrupted from a machine Windows 7 x 64 one of the x 32 machines always corrupt. But you copy the same image directly from the CF card, it will be corrupted on Windows 7 x 64, but is perfectly fine in a x 32 machines. Is anyone familiar with this problem? No work around? I am a photographer and it is really annoying my workflow.

    This problem has been recreated on the following computers:

    Dell Dimension 9100 Running Windows 7 Profesional x 64
    Dell XPS m1210 Running Windows 7 Enterprise x 64

    This problem does not occur on the following computers:

    Dell Dimension 9100 Running Windows Vista Ultimate x 32
    Reference Dell Inpiron 9100 Running Windows 7 Professional x 32
    Dell XPS m1210 running Windows Vista Enterprise x 32

    Talk about drive you crazy, I can have recently fixed this problem for my PC, but I can't really understand what was the exact solution. In any case if you read my posts above, you'll see that I at least 4 PC running Windows 7 that has this issue. I have two cameras from Canon (40 d, 7 d) that present this problem and 4 compact flash cards (2 for each camera) which show this question. This issue is also never appeared on my other 2 cameras (300 d and 20 d) or on Windows XP or Windows Vista.

    To test this recurring problem, I kept one of my CF cards which was full of RAW files and stopped using it with my cameras. I used images on this card for testing. I copy the images of this map on a PC hard drive then I would like to make a second copy on the hard drive. A copy of the images I would have spotted in Adobe Bridge, the second copy I would consider only with the Canon DPP. Whenever there are images corrupted in the game that I give in Adobe Bridge and no corruption in the game that I would only see with Canon's DPP. I would then use WinMerge to compare one of the images corrupted in Bridge with uncorrupted counterpart. Sometimes the files differed not at all, which indicates that the corruption was in Adobe Bridge preview only. Sometimes there are clearly major differencs between files, which indicates that the corruption was in the file RAW itself.

    I repeated this test again and again on at least 4 computers running Windows 7. It became easy to reproduce and repeatable. The differences between several PC was that different images become corrupt on different PCs. By default on a PC, changing as ACR would affect what images have become corrupt.

    With the above in mind, I would test with clean installs on the PC. With anti-virus turned off. Without any element in windows startup. With different video cards, etc. Nothing has worked. Then on a whim, I bought and installed the Codec Pack FastPictureViewer 2.1R2 (http://www.fastpictureviewer.com/codecs/) on one of my PC Windows 7 x 64. After a reboot, I then ran my standard test above. To my surprise, none of the pictures of the test set has become corrupted. The first time it never happened on Windows 7 for sure.

    Great, I thought. So now if I take this CF card and copy the images on a PC without the Codec Pack, then the images would still become corrupt because with the right Adobe Bridge? Well, bad actually. On my other three PC without the Codec Pack these images now copy the CF card with no to corruption. The new pictures that I take with a camera show also no corruptiopn on any computer with or without the Codec Pack. It's really weird.

    All I can theorize it, is that there is something wrong with some data that has been written for cards CF. In the directory structure or some cache hidden on the CF card somewhere float codec RAW of Canon presents incorrect data, but ACR and the CaptureOne seemed not only to become confused by it, they would actually rewrite the interpretation corrupted in the file RAW itself. It's curious because the display of hidden files and protected system files do show all files on the CF card other than RAW images. The only thing that's changed on the map, it's that when I opened it upward in the preview vignettes explore now show instead of the generic Adobe icons for CR2 files. On the PC without the Codec Pack, the generic icons show yet, but very good copy the files. Whatever it either, with the Codec Pack to build miniature previews on PC it sets whatever the problem of all the PC have had reading the data off the card.

    I can't explain it. I reformatted the CF card camera and on my two PCs and doesn't seem to make a difference. But by the mere fact to have a codec generate a thumbnail preview, it seems to have 'fixed' regardless of the question. Very confusing. For the last three days, I tried to recreate the problem of corruption and simply cannot. If she resurfaced once again, I will post it here, but for now it seems that this problem is solved?
