  Could you please let me know, if you are able to see an option to "Create a new catalog" on the lower left corner of the window.

  I have a PC with Lightroom 6 just installed. At the opening, it says Lightroom - opening catalog: catalog Lightroom - 2.Ircat, then a Popup comes up saying Failed Assertion and the program closes. I checked to make sure that the photos folder is under the directory of the user and the registry redirects to the right/directory of the user file. The catalogues are stored in a subdirectory of Lightroom in the photos subdirectory. You need to resolve without losing all the catalogs.

  Please follow the steps below:

  1-force Quit the sub process in the same sequence as shown below from Activity Monitor: see, use the monitor activity on your Mac - Apple Support

  • Creative cloud
  • Basic timing & sync to basic support
  • CC library & process CCX
  • Adobe Common Desktop
  • Adobe update daemon
  • Broker CIB Adobe
  • After that, everything that said adobe on it do a force quit for her

  2 - right click on the Finder icon, then select the "Go-To" folder. You will get a text box, type in the following command and then press the 'return'. ("Not to be missed ~ symbol")

  ~/Library (it will open the folder of the user's library.)

  3. browse to the Application Support > Adobe > trash OOBE folder and folder AAM Updater

  4 - CUT any installed security software with firewall system.

  5 - go to: Apple icon > system preferences > Security & Privacy > General > "allow applications downloaded on" change that no matter where (to make these changes click the padlock in the corner at the bottom left of this window and enter your computer password)

  These changes are temporary you can restore these changes back to normal once your creative cloud application is in place and functioning *.

  6 - restart the cloud creative app and connect

  Buy Photoshop CS6 - this is a version of the student. Has proven my eligibility, got my serial number and engaged in the installation process. The program installs completely, and then gives me the option to open the program. When I click on the application to run it, it crashes. I updated my software and restarted my computer. Always does the same thing. I have a MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.8 with 4 GB of memory. The processor is Intel Core i5 at 2.3 GHz.
