  Hello everyone, I'm pretty stuck here. I can't delete a file in windows 7 or any other do with it besides. Says "the specified file name is not valid or too long. It has a funny name [~ t] and no extension. The file type, say "file". The properties are all screwed looking with a mistake on the Security tab, a size of 0 k, is a Windows (c) \Windows\en-US.The other files in this folder appear normal. The computer seems to work very well without any obvious problems. The only problem is my anti-virus reports with a kind of syntax for the file error and indicates it cannot parse this file. I do not. I can't do a thing with it either. Cannot open, rename, move, delete, change passwords, properties, permissions, nothing. It may be necessary for a good part with 0kb.   Hey bud, I figured out how fix it earlier. I am so happy. I came to remember a command called chkdsk which worked very well for various issues, that I had since the construction of my old 2000 Professional machine. I think that one was my first NTFS system. I always liked how well he error correction. Seemed a lot better than the old scandisk.   Try to start your PC in safe mode by following the steps below and see if you can delete that folder/file from there.

  How to start in safe MODE

  1. Restart your computer if it is running.
  2. Press the F8 key after your computer powers initially.
  3. Once you see the menu Advanced Startup Options , you can stop tapping.
  4. Up/down arrow keys to highlight your selection.
  5. Select Safe Mode with network and press enter.
  6. You should see loading drivers and then Please wait.
  7. You should then be on the Welcome screen.

  Connect to your computer using an account with administrator privileges.

  I got this file from my friend got sent - is a word document, I had on their computer.  So I tried to use Disk Cleanup to delete temporary files, temporary internet files and files program downloaded.  Does not work.

  When I check the properties, there is no security tab so I can't transfer ownership in this way.

  We have recently installed two new Windows Server 2008 R2 servers in our field.  one of the new servers is the new domain controller (successor of Windows Server 2003 SBS, which has been decommissioned).  There are two other Windows 2003 servers in the domain.  When we turn off all servers for maintenance and then power them back on, the print on the windows 2003 Server spooler crashes; printers are deleted and the server does not allow you to add printers.  is this be caused by some settings in windows server 2008 r2?  This happened twice, and the solution is to rub the print on the windows 2003 Server spooler and reinstall the printers from scratch.

  Seems like you need to repair the virtual machine somehow, probably you start it, or use a tool acronis to repair the image.

  I had done. It seems that if you have any software running on a computer backup, it is best to remove or disable. I also cleaned the registry with ccleaner. After all this, the converter has exported the disc in a VM ESXi without problem.
