can I install Windows 2003 server in my computer hp laptop pav14-v021tu
Hai
My system came with windows 8, when I bought.
But now I thing I finstalling windows server 2003 in this laptop, I heard from my local technician some computers laptops hp does not support Server 2003 (he said need some drivers from hard disk sata hard or something like that)
As I have not super-hotel with this stuff,
some we can't so please say argues this model the windows sever 2003 if so this laptop has no other than the Server 2003 addinational drivers to work
Thank you
Hello:
The technician is correct on the sata drivers are needed.
The problem is that your laptop is an Intel 4th generation of processor and chipset of the 8 series.
Intel develops not all drivers sata for this chipset, so windows XP and 2003 server will not install on the PC with this chipset. Nor are there at - he graphics drivers for Windows 2003 server, and probably many other features would not have driver support for hardware that your PC has.

vCenter Converter Windows 2003 Server ESXi VM keeps failing
I'm trying to convert a Windows 2003 server to a virtual machine on a server ESXi. I use the option of VMware Infrastructure. My Server works well, and the authentication is successful. However, 1% it still fails with the error:
FAILED: A general error occurred: server closed connection after 0 bytes of response read. < io_obj p:0x03f32124, h:
804, < tube "\\.\pipe\vmware-converter-worker-soap" >, < pipe '\\.\pipe\vmware-converter-worker-soap' > >
Also, here is the log file
Help out me?
I had done. It seems that if you have any software running on a computer backup, it is best to remove or disable. I also cleaned the registry with ccleaner. After all this, the converter has exported the disc in a VM ESXi without problem.

With the help of VBA - check to see if Acrobat Pro is open on the computer of the users
Hi all. I have an access request that generates a lot of single page PDF reports in a folder on the user's computer, then when it's over, it combines all files in a single pdf file on the desktop of users. If the user has left open Acrobat Pro before it begins to run reports, when it starts to try to combine the files, he will receive an error message.
I would check if Adobe Acrobat Pro is open from the beginning of the routine, so that the user doesn't have to spend as much time regenerating reports yet. I was not able to find the VBA code that will do this. Can anyone help?
Thank you
David
Hello test screen name. I do catch the error and generate a friendly error message to ask the user to close Adobe Acrobat. The problem is, according to the criteria they choose for the report, it might take 5-10 minutes before you still see this error because of the hundreds of individual reports pdf it takes to generate. It is not until my code is ready to combine these pdf files they see the message. So, it is not really an error of execution, so to speak.
But, I found the answer to my question and I wanted to share with everyone. The answers are found here:
API: Whether an application is running
API: Get the class name of a running application
What I did, is to paste all of the code in these 2 pages in a new module of access. Then I made sure that Adobe Acrobat is loaded on my machine. I ran the fEnumWindows() void and it printed all my open programs class names. I got the class name for Adobe Acrobat, which is AcrobatSDIWindow. Then, I modified the select case statement in the following function, to include the Acrobat of the string and the name of the class:
[code]
Function fIsAppRunning (ByVal strAppName As String _
Optional FActivate As Boolean) As Boolean
Dim lngH As Long, strClassName As String
Dim GNLX As Long, lngTmp As Long
Const WM_USER = 1024
On Local Error GoTo fIsAppRunning_Err
fIsAppRunning = False
Select Case LCase$ (strAppName)
Case "excel": strClassName = "XLMain".
Case "word": strClassName = "OpusApp".
'Access' box: strClassName = 'Omain '.
Case "powerpoint95": strClassName = "PP7FrameClass.
Case "powerpoint97": strClassName = "PP97FrameClass.
Case 'Notepad': strClassName = "Notepad".
Case 'acrobat': strClassName = "AcrobatSDIWindow."
Case "wordpad": strClassName = "WordPadClass."
Case Else: strClassName = vbNullString
Select end
If strClassName = "" then
lngH = apiFindWindow (vbNullString, strAppName)
On the other
lngH = apiFindWindow (strClassName, vbNullString)
End If
If lngH <> 0 Then
apiSendMessage lngH WM_USER + 18, 0, 0
GNLX = apiIsIconic (lngH)
If GNLX <> 0 Then
lngTmp = apiShowWindow (lngH, SW_SHOWNORMAL)
End If
If fActivate then
lngTmp = apiSetForegroundWindow (lngH)
End If
fIsAppRunning = True
End If
fIsAppRunning_Exit:
Exit Function
fIsAppRunning_Err:
fIsAppRunning = False
CV fIsAppRunning_Exit
End Function
[/ code]
Now I can just send 'acrobat' this function to see if the application is open.
Sincerely,
David

Concerning
SamirHello
I m wondering that you want to install Windows server on a laptop...
In any case, it is a known problem and also happens on XP and Vista. To fix this you need to use the laptop SATA driver or you change the SATA mode in the BIOS by AHCI compatible, then you don't need a driver.
Here are some instructions that might be useful for you:
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htmI do not know if you will get a driver for Server 2003 but you can try the XP driver and in the worst cases, it must use compatible mode m.
Let me give you a little advice: If you have other questions, use the forum search. You can find hundreds of discussions about this.

Extremely slow CHKDSK on external Drobo B1200i connected to a Windows 2003 Server)
(I have a Drobo B1200i related to an unresolved external server) windows 2003 Server), with 9 x 4, double redundancy to discs. The scoreboard shows that all drives are healthy. The player has 2 LUNs. One of the units is 16TO and used to store data, some are small files and some are large files. We found errors when you try to save this logical unit, which prompted running chkdsk. Run us CHKDSK G:/x/f/r it was launched on 22 may at 18:00. He ran steps 1-3 to 25 may, making hundreds of repairs (deleting entry index... recovery of file... orphans replacing non-security IDS valid... Insert the attribute data to place...)
He has been blocked since May 25 (for 3.5 days) 60% of the step 4 of 5, moving very slowly. Currently, it reads "(14191283 of 20660608 processed files) all 60 percent" the number of processed files remains to be the same number of hours and moves upward then 5000 files and then a few hours left in the same issue for others... At this rate, it may take 3-4 months at the end!
My questions are the following:
1 - is it normal to take this amount of time with the large disk like mine (16 TB)?
2. is there a risk of data loss if I stop it now?
3. is there a chance that what has already been solved during the early stages is all that was needed, and that interrupts it the process now will be harmless?
4. If I stop the process now and errors persist, and I decide to run CHKDSK again, it run faster for the early stages and get to the current point faster than the 6 days it has taken to get this far? or it will take another 6 days to join the current point?
This issue is beyond the scope of this site and must be placed on Technet or MSDN -

Windows 7 fail to recognize new password after that the user changes
Hi, I have this weird problem, until now happening in Windows 7 machines in a domain Active Directory.
A user who changes his password at any time before the expiration of the password and the message indicating that the change has succeeded appears as usual. However, after the closure of the current session, disconnection and/or same as restarting the computer where the user has changed the password, he or she is unable to connect with the new password, the computer will only accept the old password. Things don't stop there, if the same user tries to log on to another computer (where he worked before), he rejects the new password with the message "user or incorrect password" as well, but again only accepting the last password used in this second computer.
A friend at work discovered (by pure chance) that run a MalwareBytes (hereinafter MB) scan and remove all detected items eliminate the problem, not immediately, but after a computer restart. I did the same thing with another user but took my time to browse the list of detection MB and I found that all detected items were related to domain policies legitimate registry keys.
Things already checked:
-Normal network connectivity.
-Not all computers are affected.
-All affected computers are running Windows 7 Pro x 64.
-Users who have never used the affected computers can connect without a problem.
-Users who are unable to connect the affected computers can connect to other computers, they have ever used without problem.
-Computers have been restarted before using MB, but the problem persists.
-Checked the names of registry keys, but could not find one related to the connection of the user.
So my questions are, why this computers only validate against the local SAM? What other things can check to validate what happens?
Thank you.

bypass the password login to the users group on windows computers 7 via a windows 2003 Server?
My management don't like always to log-in to a computer through passwords. For them, he considered a downside and one more thing to remember along the business side. Therefore, they asked if I can put systems up to have users what is selected to log-in without password on their accounts. I'm not an expert in the role of Administrator windows 2003 server, so I would like to help with that.
Note: Is there a way I can access the server via a computer with the user logged as Administrator without going through the physical server itself. It is somewhat a drawback since it is in the storage area. ((deuxième niveau)
Thank you!!

Need help for JO HP 8500 all in one printer on home network OS Windows 2003 server a.
I have a new HP OJ 8500 has everything in a printer connected wireless to my local network. I have internet access using the printer, can access the printer using a wireless iPod and can see the printer on the Modem / Router using Windows Explorer using the computer with the Windows 2003 Server operating system. However, I can't access the printer using "Add a printer" in Server 2003. In addition, the disc that came with the printer does not load printer installation information. The message was "printer not supported using this operating system. Help will be greatly appreciated!
Hi mwcuff,
There is no driver for Win Server 2003. The only thing I can suggest is to make an addition, a printer and refer them to the CD that came with the printer to see if it will load a basic driver.

I am trying to convert an image backup acronis tru to a windows 2003 server to a server esxi virtual computer, a system I had converted previously on 4.x and exsi 5.1 Converter and using the same image and same PC to convert, but now he is unable to 59% with the status:
FAILED: An error occurred during conversion: "a file error has been detected" and error: error: impossible to clone the C:\Windows\TEMP\vmware-temp\vmware-me\nvdsxwvgwgxyklny\disk-1.vmdk drive on the virtual machine "server."
Don't know where to go with this.
Anyone have any ideas?
Unfortunately, there is a mistake in your image file: 2014-05 - 20 T 20: 41:17.034 - 04:00 [02140 WARNING 'Default'] [, 0] [NFC ERROR] read has no curSector = 588398592, nSectors = 512: failure of a custom of third party library function call: (3116).
Seems like you need to repair the virtual machine somehow, probably you start it, or use a tool acronis to repair the image.
