Cannot delete the file/folder even in Administrator Mode or Mode safe

I. hate. Vista. Windows XP has NEVER been this difficult to work with!

I recently installed MagicISO. Didn't like it, so I deleted it. He left behind a small dll file and the folder. I wanted to remove both, couldn't.

Tried safe mode. FAILED

Administrator account I tried. FAILED

Tried both together. FAILED

Help me please? How could I not have permission to delete a file in administrator mode? Seriously, Windows Vista is just messed up all unrecognizable... * rant rant rant *.

In fact, I thought that the answer.

Went to safe mode.

Used ShellExViewer (RUN AS ADMIN) and disabled MagicISO.

Walked over to the directory and delete the .dll and the folder that it is.

Restarted my computer in normal mode.

Problem solved.

Thank you all for helping me. I appreciate it a lot! I don't know what I'd do without you people. : D

  • Cannot delete the file/folder

It is a problem of two parts:

    1. There is an mp3 file on my desk that I can open it, but I can't move or delete.  I created this mp3 myself and it's on my desktop for about two months.

When I try to delete this file, a preparation to recycle bar rises, saying "to discover the elements" but never progresses.  I can't close without stop force windows Explorer.

    2. a friend was recently transferred several files containing MP3s on my desk.  When I open the folder, windows Explorer starts blowing (the charge of the Bar starts to slowly fill but taking so long, I don't know that never completed) and my CPU load goes way up.  I can't open any mp3 file (after 3 minutes, VLC media player opens and the file name appears in the playlist, but does not have).  I am also unable to move or delete these folders.

I ran a virus scan and nothing is detected.

When I try to delete these files/folders, a bar of recycling starts, but never progresses and after awhile I cancel it.

How can I delete these files/folders?

Chris, try this command at the command prompt:

    cd\recycler
    attrib - r s h * / s/d
    del * / f/s/q
    RD /s /q.

    Kind regards

  • Cannot delete the file. 'trial' "impossible to find this element". It is neither located in C:\Users\master\desktop.

I have a folder called test on my desk that I created to try the xcopy commands.  Anyone who has nothing to do with it.  I think that when I created the folder I could add a space somewhere in the file name.  He is currently empty that I deleted a word of her documents.

However I can't remove it.   It says cannot delete the file. "Cannot find this item. It is neither located in C:\Users\master\desktop.  Have already tried to delete the file in safe mode but not no luck.  Also if I navigate to the path C:\Users\master\desktop folder is not there and I hid the displayed files.  If I right click a properties to create the size is 0bytes and created a modification dates are suppressed.  How can I delete the file?

Cannot delete the file.  Says "not not found could not find this item check the location of this object and try again."

I got this file from my friend got sent - is a word document, I had on their computer.  So I tried to use Disk Cleanup to delete temporary files, temporary internet files and files program downloaded.  Does not work.

When I check the properties, there is no security tab so I can't transfer ownership in this way.

I don't want to experiment using the way of the transfer of ownership command prompt as the name of the file is several sentences long.  I can't rename it either, of course.

Windows 7, a week and I already have a stupid problem which has already lost an hour of my time.

What I did was to create a Notepad file that was empty and saved in the same location as the file that won't go away.  Once registered.  I click with the right button on the new file and rename the exact name as the file problem.  Don't forget to change the file extension (ex: .doc)

    ex file problem: word.doc

    new file: word.doc

as long as they match eachother exactly you should see the file problem disappear and once that's gone, you can delete the new file created.

  • Cannot delete the file on the remote server (Business Catalyst)

Hi, I am trying to delete a file on my remote server (Business Catalyst), but I get an error message (log of the errors below).  I can delete the other files in the same folder.  In addition, the permissions are the same on the files I can delete and one that I can't.  I can not remove this file with FileZilla, either - get a similar error message.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  This is a template file and I really need to be able to delete or modify it.  Thank you.

    Path is: /Templates/index_desktop.dwt.LCK

    Path is: /Templates/index_desktop.dwt

/Templates/index_desktop.dwt - error - year FTP error - can't delete the file remote index_desktop.dwt.  Access denied.  The file exists may not, or there could be a permission problem.

    Hi Nancy,.

The model was the one that I uploaded myself and I need to be able to make changes or delete it.  I have to go check out my Business Catalyst site and figured out I could delete templates through the Site Manager > Page Templates dialog box.  Thank you.

    make one

    PS auxfww | grep-i 'Test '.

This should get the process ID for it.

  • Cannot delete the file because the file is in use

So when I'm in a file Explorer window and I want to delete a PDF (for example) I have a "File in use" message.
I realized that this is caused by the preview pane. No pane preview any message and deletes the file.
I want to know how I can remove a file with the active preview pane because I want to check the contents to make sure it's the right file, I want to delete?

Hi Guys - I was reading just return and am surprised that this problem has been dates back to February 2013 with no solutions being provided by MS - it's a real shame to MS support staff and a shame to have a support system that is unable to provide support.

the solution is use shift + delete which gives you an option to permanently delete, so no need to cut an excerpt or find new no programs etc. installed. Just a SIMPLE SOLUTION.

  • Cannot delete the file - Windows 7 cannot check location

    Hello all,.

After the upgrade to Windows 7, I tried to delete the Windows.old folder. However, I encountered a problem; There are two files in this folder that Windows 7 can not remove. When I try to delete them, I get an error message stating that Windows cannot locate the two files and it asks me to check their location. Is there a way to get around this?

    Thank you

    Garrick

When the above does not work, try this:

    1. click on windows orb
    2. type cmd in the search box
    3. right click on cmd in the results menu and click on run as administrator
    4. control windows opens, must be in the directory c:\windows\system32
    5. go into c:\ do this type cd... until you reach c:\
6 goto directory where the file to be deleted. example c:\windows.old\users
7 type rd /s (directory name)
8 get invites to delete y/n type y and press on enter

After successful removal, you can check the windows Explorer and see that the file is missing.

Example, I have a directory on my c drive named windows.old, under windows.old that I have a user directory and then several subdirectories, 1 directory happens to be named bill. For some reason any windows can not find this place and will not delete the folder. I then who follow the previous steps and remove this directory.

So, in step 6, I would like to c:\windows.old\users goto, I then head to step 7 and enter the rd/s Bill and enter. Follow step 8 and the file is missing.

Let us know if that helps.
