Satellite A100 BIOS password request

I did a disk check on my Satellite A100, but after the control of what my system is in place with the message "Password".
There is no password set for the system.
What should I do?

Pleas help.

I agree with Akuma, but I don t understand why Notepad starts with a password prompt.

What did you do when you said I did a disk check? Have you done a Windows checkdisk?

However, an ASP (authorized service provider) can remove the password. You can search on the Toshiba site to find an ASP.

    Hi all

My Satellite P200 worked perfectly under Vista but I need to install XP for some applications to work.
I followed the instructions Toshiba installed upgrading necessary BIOS and now for some reason any my cell phone requests a password to the power upward.

I never put a password, am not aware of everything.

As I said never come before, after the update of the bios.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Matt

I have no idea why the password has been set after BIOS update, but I know that a BIOS password cannot be rid of the Toshiba laptop without additional assistance from EPA.

So, if it's a BIOS password, then you really must ask ASP for the removal of the password

  • Satellite A100: Bios password appears - what should I do?

    Hello world

Last year, I bought my toshiba Satellite A100. I never set a Bios password. Today I was working normal. Then I restarted my laptop and got the password.

Now I can't access my laptop. Is this a common problem? What should I do?

    concerning

No, this isn't a common problem. It s absolutely impossible that a BIOS password is stated zero part.

In general, you will need to send the machine to an ASP for the removal of the password, but before you do, I would ask all members of your family who has access to your computer if it has put a bios password and wanted to make a joke (in this case it s not a really nice joke)

  • Satellite A100 - BIOS password not accepted after computer take part

(Sorry if this question has been asked before, I searched through topics, but too many subjects was found.)

I have an old A100 for 3 years with no guarantee. I want to sell it so I took apart to clean dust. Everything for the motherboard. When everything has been cleaned and I reinstalled everything, I turned it on and the password of the BIOS has not been accepted. I know the password and it's OK to 100% and shift lock is not locked on.

Is it possible that the keyboard flat cable has been installed wrongly, the cable was - a.f.a.i.k - reinstalled right, because there is only one way to insert into the slot on the motherboard. (Sorry for my bad English)

Or BIOS confused and handed over to zero in some Toshiba service password? Is this possible?

The caps lock is locking itself led of lights up and can not turn off with the CAPS LOCK key.

    What is the solution?

    > Is it possible that the keyboard flat cable has been installed wrongly,
Connect the keyboard external usb to check (this is good if you remove the internal keyboard when checking)

    > Or BIOS confused and handed over to zero in some Toshiba service password? Is this possible?
No, it is impossible that this password has been reset. In any case, I've never heard

I don t know where the problem is.
Can an authorized here tell me how to fix or what the problem?

    Thnx

    Hello

    > Can someone with authority here tell me how to solve or where is the problem?
Don t understand what you mean by authorized. Here, you will meet common Toshiba users like me and you, and not just any ASP guy!
If you need to remove the BIOS password that I recommend you contact the ASP guys one more time and to clarify this issue.
Perhaps the BIOS should be updated after removing the BIOS password again.

  • How to reset the BIOS on Satellite A100-237 password?

    Hi, guys.

Suddenly, I ended up having a bios password problem without putting a whole. I can´t seem to start my computer A100-237, because he wants a password just after I ve it starts.

Unfortunately I don't have haven´t had the time to go to the nearest Service partner because it is 400km away. Can someone help me solve the problem (I ve read about KeyDisk, but I need a disk to be able to use it and I simply Dona´t have a).

Maybe I can use a kind of bootable CD to reset the password or something else?

Thank´s in advance for your help!

No, no, no you can not make yourself the BIOS password is not easy to remove on the desktop PC by removing the RTC battery.
Something like that is not possible on the Toshiba laptop and can damage the Board.

The only way to remove the BIOS password is in contact with the ASP in your country.
I think that it of a security option because before you remove the BIOS password, you have to show the invoice or delivery note.

  • Unlocking on Satellite A100 BIOS

    Hello
Anyone able to confirm the official and non-official line regarding it have a unlocked locked BIOS. Have a Toshiba Satellite A100 523 model: PSAA2E-01D00JEN

Are the BIOS USB unlocking devices listed on ebay any use?

    Best regards

    HI Martin,

Officially, the only way to get your BIOS password reset must take your laptop to authorized service center which will need to verify your ownership of notebook before feflashing of the BIOS.

Unofficialy there are various "devices" that claim to reset or bypass the password of the BIOS so that you can access the BIOS Setup panels and also the operating system. You will find instructions for making these devices (involving generally taken cross-wiring and old parallel port) If you search Google for "BIOS Password Reset".

I know that on some laptops, but are not guaranteed to work on all of them, especially models later these devices.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite R630 Bios password suddenly failing!

I have a Satellite R630 since October 2010 and already I had to reinstall Windows 7 due to fun with the OS and various issues, which some will find to bloat ware as Toshiba have packed and some who are with the OS (what a surprise).
But somethings are to do with the laptop, a space key, which does not always work (esp on the right side) is the least of my problems today.

With no apparent guest today he asked a supervisor bios password.
The password that I set, failed. Its reboot then cancelled by asking me the password for the user. But it has not yet.
I tried all bios passwords I can think, I even plugged in to an external keyboard.
    Nothing, I'm locked out.

Worse still, when I search on the internet I find that it is not such a rare "feature" of the Bios Toshiba. Is this a case that I need to send it in, or you can access the battery on this model?
Everyone had it / found a solution?

    Hey,.

I searched a bit here in the forum and I couldn't t found these similar topics so it doesn t seem to
    be a common problem.

Fact is if you forgot the password you can t remove yourself. This is possible only from an authorized service provider. So in my opinion, you must contact the guys to get rid of the password.
I m guys are going to help you :)

  • Satellite A100 BIOS update - BAD CHECKSUM

I've just updated my BIOS to version 6.0 that TOSHIBA said > 26/11/07 "this Bios update adds functionality to your system: Satellite A100 Toshiba 6, 00 - WIN (PSAAN).»

    My original BIOS was 5.9
My computer works fine A100-33 but when my computer restarts, showed it to the BLACK screen.

I noticed that it displays BAD CHECKSUM and suugested I select default BIOS but I * ignored this advice * that wanted this new Version of the BIOS.

What means BAD CHECKSUM and what effects will have on my computer peformance please if any?

Under the system information that is displayed for my BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies LTD 6.00, 07/12/2007

Name of the Microsoft OS? ® Windows Vista Home Basic

    Hello

Don t worry if the message "bad checksum" will appear only once.

'Bad checksum' means that the BIOS has been changed, rewritten or settings have been restored by default. Thus, whenever you save your bios settings, bios made a "checksum" to check the next time you start the settings were stored and all goes well. If something is wrong or has been changed, then the checksum stored since the last save a Don t match real new generated checksum.

So if you make an update of the bios, all your settings will be modified logic - you get an error "Bad Checksum".

Another reason for such "Bad Checksum" is an empty BIOS stack or a malfunction, so BIOS cannot keep it s settings and you will get every time you start the computer a message "Bad Checksum".

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A100 - BIOS and Windows does not start after the BIOS update

Hello, I extend my Satellite A100 laptop BIOS.

After update, I can't start my laptop and the BIOS will not start.

    You see the Toshiba logo?

Was there a power failure when you updated the BIOS?

Try to remove the battery and the adapter and leave for a few hours. You can also try reinstalling the RAM.

If this does not help, you will need to send it to a Service Center for repair.

  • Re: After upgrade on Satellite A100 BIOS cannot use keyboard more

Need help... after bios upgrade for Toshiba Satellite A100 my keyboard error... now I can't use my keyboard...
If I used the external keyboard, as there not enough power into the USB...
Now, how come back to start bios version...

    Thank you or any medium

    Hello

Enter the BIOS (by pressing F2 at startup) and try to check in the Bios if compatible keyboard, legacy usb support (something like that) is enabled. It should help.
Otherwise, playing with the up/downgrade Bios (especially, demote) instead of keyboard problem, can cause the crash of the complete system with white screen.

  • Question about the Satellite A200 bios password removal

    Hello.
I own a Satellite A200 - 1 KB which has a password on startup and I would like to delete the password.
I tried to get into the bios setup but I can't turn it off from there and I tried holding the ESC and hold left SHIFT to start but didn't work as well.

If someone could help woul be great...

    Hello

Unfortunately you won´t get here of secret advice on the deletion of bios passwords because the passwords were intended to protect a computer from unauthorized access. Thus, the password for the BIOS of your laptop is more often sunk that leads to the only solution:

Contact an authorized service partner and let the button remove the password. But don't forget that you will be charged since the removal of the password of the BIOS is not covered by the warranty. Each manufacturer made this way, otherwise it would be easy to steal a machine, ask someone from a forum, and then use the stolen computer.

You know what I mean? Here´s a link to find the closest available ASP in your country:

    Hello

Why are you sure have you remove the BIOS password successfully 100%?
Usually you can not remove the BIOS password without knowing the old.
It s very strange what you describe, because after the BIOS password turn off the laptop should work properly without asking the password.

Well, the fact is that only the Toshiba service partner can remove the BIOS password if someone forgot the own password.

Unfortunately, I put t see any other possibility.
