Cannot display changes in Camera Raw

I am a new user of CS5.  I shoot in RAW and upload my pictures and I do some changes in Camera Raw (crop, brightness, exposure, etc.).  When I click on Done in Camera Raw and go back to the bridge, I see is no longer changes on my files.  My files are marked with the symbols to show that changes have been made to the file, but the changes are not visible, unless I go back and reopen the file in Camera Raw.

Some additional info:

Canon 60 d

Camera Raw Version 6.3.0.79

You are probalby using quick thumbnails.  To show the change in the thumbnail, you must use a miniature HQ.

The quick load faster and take less space, so you have to decide which concept is the most important.

I have Photoshop CS5 loaded on my lap top and my counter top.  When displaying of images in Bridge 4.0.5.11 which have been published in Camera RAW 6.7 I see edited vignettes all Imagers edited on my lab top.  On the desktop, I see the new thumbnail and right click and choose 'Generate high quality miniature' for each image to see the changes in Camera RAW.  Why is the program work differntly on each computer?

    In addition,

Look at the small icons of checkerboard top right in the Bridge window. The left is for the embedded thumbnails (works faster but has no picture quality)

One on the right gives you the option set to "always generate previews HQ" If you select this option the previews will be done automatically.

  • Cannot open files in Camera Raw in Bridge CS6

    30/05/2014

Believe that this problem happened after automatic update to Adobe (but not sure).

Always transferred files from camera in the bridge, then make some changes by opening JPEG and RAW (NEF) files in Camera Raw in bridge.

Now, "open in Camera Raw" is grayed out and I can't find a way to open files with Camera Raw inside Bridge CS6.  This seemed to happen suddenly and without new software or applications added to the computer.  All the other apps/software works well.

Have you tried various bugs found on Adobe community discussions without success.  Now ongoing problem for more than a week +.

Am able to open files in Photoshop without problem, but want to be able to make some quick changes using Camera Raw, open files from Bridge CS6.

I use Bridge CS6 Version 5.0.2.4.  (as part of Adobe Creative Suite 6).  Update says I have the latest version of the bridge.

Found others with this same or very similar problems on the forums but it either can't understand access plan/patches or impossibility of complete instructions on my computer.

See for example: Camera RAW update the question with Bridge CS6

Since this link/discussion, we find this "solution":

Updated Camera Raw 8.4, Bridge CS6 Mac OS is not display the image metadata, or allow you to edit images in Camera Raw.

Manually install the camera Raw plugin 8.4.

    1. Exit Adobe Bridge.
    2. Download the file below.
    3. Find and double-click on the downloaded file to unzip it. The resulting file is camera Raw.plugin.
    4. Navigate to the folder Macintosh HD.
    5. Open the folder/Library/Application Support / Adobe / Plug - Ins / CS6 / File Formats.
IMPORTANT: Navigate to the folder root of the library on your hard drive, not the library folder in your user folder.
    6. Copy the step 3 Camera Raw.plugin file Formats folder.
IMPORTANT: This new file overwrites the file already in this folder. It is important that a single camera Raw.plugin file located in this folder.
    7. Open Adobe Bridge.

However, when I try the above, I have these questions:

    1. when I double click on the downloaded file, my computer opens PhotoShop and an error message is displayed, that States "could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this file type."  (I think this may mean my computer is automatically unzipped the file, but I'm not sure about that).

2 not quite sure I don't know how 'navigate to the folder Macintosh HD' suggested in step 4 above (OK, I'm new on Mac; since a long time PC user...)

    3. when I am in the 'Finder' and click on 'GO' while holding down the button 'Option', I find "library".  in this context, I find ' / Library/Application Support/Adobe ", but there is no 'Plugins' folder in the subfolder"Adobe ".

4 don't know how if I'm in the 'library root' on my drive hard vs 'library under my user folder '.  (New, new Mac...)

I have NOT yet tried to make a "Uninstall" and then re - install Adobe Creative Suite 6 together and I would like to avoid that if possible.

Absolutely would LOVE it if Adobe would simply push an update that should fix this problem or if someone could explain to me how I could restore the previous version that worked perfectly for me.

Any help, suggestions (in very basic, simple terms that any fool again in the world of Macintosh can understand) would be appreciated.  Very frustrated with Adobe at the moment.

Especially like the switch to Mac, but with this and my picture to come to a sudden stop workflow, have doubts.  (But I guess that the update of Adobe for PC can cause problems as well).

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

Literally minutes after I posted the above, I thought that this myself and now I'm a happy camper and things are back to normal!

Here's my question/error: as a new Mac user, I was not negotiating/find files on my hard drive correctly.

In case there are others out there with this same question (and I'm apparently dense):

Here's what I did which resulted in a correction:

    First steps:

    1 exit/close bridge

    2. as stated in the post above, go to this link to download the Camera Raw Plugin file:

Issue update to Camera RAW with Bridge CS6

Link to download is towards the end of the instructions, but I try to insert this link for download here:

    Camera Raw.plugin.zip

    3. once the file has been downloaded, find her using "Finder" click "Finder" and look on the options list on the left side of the Finder window to find "downloads".  On my computer, clicking on "Finder" these options appear in the list on the left:

    All my files

    Air drop

    Applications

    Desktop

    Documents

    Downloads

    Movies

    Music

    Photos

    4. download you just made should be at or near the top of your download list should be designated as 'Camera Raw.plugin' and will be 83.5 MB size

    5. I clicked (two fingers on the touchpad) to bring up the drop-down options menu and choose 'Copy 'Caméra Raw.plugin' ' this list to copy the file.

Now, you copied the plug that will correct this problem.  The second set of steps below will guide you through how to replace the file that is located on your hard drive with this record in the file you copied.

Second series of measures (and this is where, as a new Mac user, I was confused at the beginning)

    1. even once, click 'Finder' on your Mac.

    2. the top of the screen, find 'GO' and click on it.  ("File, edit, view, GO, window, help", you should see "Finder" in the upper right corner of your screen, then click on the THUMB)

    3. in the drop-down menu that appears, click on 'computer '.

    4. then double-click on "Macintosh HD" to open your hard drive

    5. then double-click on the "Library" folder to open that.

    6. then, click on "Application Support" folder to open that.

    7. then, double-click the "Adobe" folder to open that.

    8. then, double-click on the "Plug-Ins" folder to open that

    9. now double click on "CS6" to open this folder.

    10. Finally, double-click on the "File Formats" folder that appears.

    11. NOW you should see this:

    12. click right (two finger press if you use a Tablet) to open the options window.  Select 'paste' by clicking on this option.

    13. you will be prompted with an option to keep existing file replace GOLD file.  Choose "Replace" according to the new "Caméra Raw.plugin" file in this folder.

Finally, if you now go back and open Bridge CS6, you should be good to go.

Hope this helps someone out there.

I hope that future updates to Adobe will be better.

  • TEXT DISPLAY PROBLEM IN CAMERA RAW

    Hello

I have a text display problem in Camera Raw. Where there are labels of boxes that need to be checked, for example in the preferences or settings to be pasted to another file, the text is unreadable print. What happens is that he takes to the bottom of half of the top line and half top of the bottom line, rather than by extending the line if the text is only on a single line. It is a problem for me to see all the options. It's the same on all the text of the label within the program.

I have attached a few screenshots to illustrate the problem.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Carl

The problem is not with the size of the screen, but with the "pixel density" (never forget, that the density of physical pixels of the monitor is indicated). Right-click on the desktop and select Properties (or go to control panel and select display). On the Control Panel, select Advanced; the general Panel contains the DPI setting. I guess that the parameter is now greater than 96 dpi.

I created a thread on this problem, which must have been at least two years ago. The answer was, as 1. Adobe will solve the problem, 2. It is a problem only with the classic Windows style (under the appearance tab). I have not tested with the XP style, because I prefer the classic style; I'm cursed and live with this shit (my setting is 120dpi).

BTW, this may be much worse than half-readable labels: buttons, fields, text can disappear completely (you may even not notice, that there should be other buttons and the Panel options)...

  • Is no longer able to display NEF files in Bridge or change in Camera Raw 4.6

I found similar issues in different Adobe forums, but I did not find a solution to my problem.

    Bridge CS3

    Photoshop CS3 Extended

    XP

    Camera Raw version 4.6.0.30

    Nikon D300s

Until 2 weeks ago, I copy my files NAVE of my CF card by the reader, open the bridge by selecting thumbnail of the NAVE and by opening in Photoshop CS3. How I can deal with Camera Raw 4.6.

Now, once copied new files NAVE and open deck, I see only icons of the NAVE. When I double click on the file, Photoshop opens and a box will appear with the following text: could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document.

By controlling the differences between the NEF files that I can change and new NEF files that I can't, I notice in the metadata file of properties that the application of successful files is worm. 2.00 and failed them is ver 1.00.

What 'application' refers the metadata? I think that this can be a parameter of Nikon, but it would help me to better understand the problem if I knew what "app" is.

I can convert the new NEF files to jpg using Adobe DNG Converter, but it GREATLY complicates a simple workflow process before.

Thank you for any light that can be shed on the painful dilemma,

    Kate

I checked my metadata and the version of the application is 1,00 and thumbs work very well.  This suggests that this version of the application has nothing to do with what you said your photos App. V 1.00 are missed.   The jury is still out on what means Application.

I should have checked the 'list' to see what the ACR was necessary for a D300.  Since you have not mentioned that you use 2 different cameras that slipped by me.  ACR 5.x has CS4.  You can upgrade to CS5 (coming soon) or convet to the NEF to DNG.

  • Where is change in Camera Raw to TIF images saved and how can it be undone?

Being new Camera Raw I find there are advantages to use RTAs to make certain types of changes even to non-premieres images like hair that I have a lot of.  One of ACR adjustments I find particularly useful vs using the PS is to adjust the dark and light tones.

I feel that ACR TIF file changes, for example, are "non-destructive" - that is, which means that I could always go back to the original at any time.  With changes to a raw image, I could do than to simply delete or even rename the sidecar XMP image. But it seems that the pods are not created for changes to a TIF image and so far I don't see how I could go back to the original TIF image / non-revised prior to the amendments of the cab.

Just try to understand the possibility to use ACR for non-premieres images.  Grateful if someone could give advice or not ACR change my TIF images are in fact non-destructive, and if so, how could revert to the original image before changes in ACR?

    Thanks for your advice.

    Jerry Keenehan

The changes are non-destructive, even to what is believed, stored as xmp data embedded in the tif (Similarly for jpg) file.  ACR does not have any warning that it is to overwrite the original file.  The pixel data are unchanged.  Of course, only programs Adobe will display the changes.

Changes can be "erased" by right clicking on the thumbnail in Bridge, invoke develop settings and select clear settings.  The tif file remains forever altered in what a story is embedded in the file, but for all practical purposes, the changes are deleted.

  • First not showing changes Adobe Camera RAW?

Once I have filed all my DNG in BRIDGE using Adobe Camera RAW and importing them in first, first does not recognize the changes.

So overall, I can't see the color of the rank my RAW files, unless I classify them in After Effects directly which is a pain. I would also like that I can drag right to Media Encoder raw files once I have classified the but Media Encoder does not recognize changes to the bridge either.

Any ideas? Maybe my workflow is all wrong, but it has always been easier for me with impressive results.

These changes are saved in the metadata files, not for the mage himself.  My best guess is that video programs are not read the metadata of your still images.

I can't think anyway to change this except to change your workflow.  Perhaps do work in Photoshop and save PNG copies.

In EM, the Application role 'MiddlewareAdministrators' shows the administrators as a member group.    Proxies that 11 g used the default "of the Everyone group" fail like proxies that can visit based on roles.

Even if I create a new proxy, I'm stuck using the access of Transport control link.

So I added the permission to my account, and the Transport link is available.  So I removed this policy and then added the authorization for the role of MiddlewareAdministrators, and it works

Looks like I click on the 'OK' button the first time.

But this seems to indicate a lack of permissions when fmw 12.1.3 is installed directly.  Since we are upgraded to 11g, I don't know if this authorization is also absent in 12.1.1 and 12.1.2

  • Camera Raw changes are permanent in a layered file, so "destructive".

I use 35mm scanned TIFF files and DNG digital files, converted from Nikon NEF files. I edit in Photoshop CS3. I use adjustment layers in Photoshop to retain the ability to revise if necessary (the "non-destructive" road). So far I used Camera Raw sparingly due the fact that I can't effectively change these changes once the file is converted to a layered PSD file. I say "effectively" because I guess it would be possible to rebuild the file by changing the original DNG file that contains changes to Camera Raw and add the layers added in Photoshop (some of the layers would probably not transfer effectively, for example spotting layers). However, I don't think it's a viable procedure.

Much is made of the non-destructive nature of changes to Camera Raw. However, this seems to be illusory, because we can't open the layered file in Camera Raw. Among other books, I read the books of Fraser/Schewe on Camera Raw and sharpening. The advice in these books are, in part, directly contradictory, i.e. they advise (1) make any possible changes in Camera Raw, since the changes are "non-destructive" and essential to get the best quality record; and (2) always make hone, with the exception of any capture sharpening done in Camera Raw, on a sharpening layer. Well, can't accomplish both of these objectives. Once the file is converted to PSD layered file, say goodbye to the opportunity of change changes to Camera Raw.

So my questions are: 1. I missed something? I'm wrong about the impossibility of change changes to Camera Raw, after the file is transformed into a layered PSD? If there is an effective way to do it, how to do? 2. What is your workflow to preserve the possibility to cancel your changes and how do you reconcile the workflow between Photoshop and Camera Raw? I think it's a bit frustrating that experts write these books, advocating the glory of Nondestructive changes, but are not able to comment on the fact that this ability disappears wherever a layer is added in Photoshop (a step that they also insist is absolutely necessary).

I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

If I'm reading your question right, you to this address with smart objects and the command replace content.

Make your changes to Camera Raw and open the file in Photoshop. Turn the TIFF layer into a smart object, then add all your usual adjustment layers.

Then, when you see something on the original TIFF in Camera Raw, follow these steps:

    1. use Bridge to open the original TIFF image (not the one who is now a layered Photoshop file) in Camera Raw, make your changes and click done.

    2. turn with your multilayer Photoshop file. Right-click on the name of the dynamic object TIFF and choose replace summary. This is the same as the choice of layer > Smart Objects > replace contents.

    3. Locate and select the TIFF you have edited, click on Place.

You should get an updated TIFF, published by the cab in place of the old.

All them above apply to the Photoshop files, that you have already created. If you start a totally new Photoshop file to a TIFF file edited in Camera Raw, it is much simpler. When you are finished with your first Camera Raw edits to TIFF, shift + click the button open an Image (Shift change the button 'Open Object'). This way, you get a smart object from the beginning know just Camera raw. The advantage of this is that when you want to change settings for Camera Raw to TIFF, you get to skip all the steps above because all you have to do is double-click the object dynamic and open the TIFF in Camera Raw, which extends your non-destructive workflow.

  • Bridge CC 2015 error message Camera Raw

I run the latest version of the CC 2015 bridge on my MacBook 2015 retina display. The rest of my software Adobe (including Photoshop) are CS6. CS6 bridge is not compatible with MacBook retina display, that's why I am forced to use the bridge CC.

When I am browsing files photos in Bridge and click on edit in camera raw, I get a message error that says "the Camera Raw editing is not enabled. Camera Raw edition requires a product calling it launched at least once to activate this function. "I used it without problem with a trial for Photoshop CC, but since my trial ran out, I uninstalled Photoshop CC.

To be very clear: until last week, I got a bridge CC, CC Photoshop and Photoshop CS6 trial installed on my MacBook. All were / are the latest versions. Until that time, CC bridge would open to change in Camera Raw, JPEG files. The * only * thing that has changed is that I uninstalled Photoshop CC since the trial has run out. I uninstalled not something else.

When running Photoshop CS6, how bridge CC to open again to change Camera Raw?

    Hey Kelby,

Does make sense?  I understand the behavior of camera raw?

Camera Raw is automatically writes the settings to an XMP file (or rewritten the current XMP if there is already one) every time that you click 'complete' or 'open image/object '. When you open a Raw file, the settings defined in the XMP "sidecar" are read and applied to the file.

If you don't want the XMP sidecar to update with new changes in Camera Raw, simply tap "Cancel". If you want to delete all the settings, click on the drop down at the top right and choose 'Reset to the default camera Raw.'
