Cannot display Microsoft demonstration videos - other videos OK

I usually have no problem playing video files, but I just discovered that I can not play videos on Microsoft Security Essentials on this page:
https://www.Microsoft.com/security_essentials/support.aspx

Same results in IE8, Firefox 3.6.12 and Chrome 7.0.517.44.

The shadowbox happens and everything seems OK, but clicking on the play button does nothing.

I can play other videos of Microsoft OK, like this:
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows/dd981014.aspx?ITPID=wtcfeed

Someone else encountered this?

Any suggestions for a fix?

TIA
-Bill

Hello

I suggest using http:// instead of https:// and check if you are able to play the video without any problem. Click on the link below.

http://www.Microsoft.com/security_essentials/support.aspx

If the video works by http://, then it means that the video provided does not come through the https:// Protocol.

Thanks and regards.

  • Cannot display the PDF is other than full-screen Mac

This has been driving me absolutely crazy lately and I have tried everything I can think of to solve the problem.

With the help of Adobe Reader DC, he stopped allowing me to open documents unless I chose the option to display full screen.  Never, I don't see the normal screen that has 'Home' and 'Tools' in the top left corner.  It seems I have the same symptoms as in this post: Creative Cloud Acrobat on Mac opens documents that was not really resolved.

I have tried the following to resolve the problem:

    1 restart the computer

    2. updates on Acrobat Reader performance

3 do drag the player from Applications to the trash and then re - download and reinstall.

    4. manually comparing Adobe Reader preferences with a fresh install of OSx El Capitan and Adobe Reader DC

    5. the attempts to remove all traces of Acrobat Reader DC have failed.  (follow the steps in this script to delete all manually)

The problem persisted even after moving to a new Mac and using a backup Time Machine to set it back up.  Here are the best although I ran the Time Machine backup after the "Uninstall" drive, so there are obviously configuration files are left behind who have not been removed.  I can not afford to set up a new account because I have literally thousands of PDF that I would have to migrate to a new user account, AND what happens if I accidentally migrate in the configuration file which is to destroy the installation?

Is there some kind of list that shows EACH FILE that is created when Acrobat Reader DC is installed so that I can remove all traces and try again or can users Mac get an uninstaller official as they have for Windows users?

    Hi Bryant,

    Can you please try this:

Open some files with Acrobat, go to window-> Cascade-> tile and see if that opens PDF files.

Also, let us know if you are on a dual monitor system?

    Thank you

    Hello

Since when does the problem appear? This is the first time?

I don't know, but if you didn t already reinstalled the drivers display, I would say it since sometimes the VGA driver dislikes the desires of the users.
Please, go to the driver Toshiba download site (still ;)) and download the display driver.) Install and set only the screen inside.

If it doesn´t work back and give feedback so that we can discuss more about your problem.

  • Media Player cannot play, need to video codec not installed. What codec? Where do I get it? How to install it?

Media Player cannot play, need to video codec not installed.  What codec?  Where do I get it? How to install it?

    Hello

The video codec that is required to decode and display the video can not be installed on your computer.

Today, there are hundreds of audio and video codecs in use. Some were created by Microsoft, but the vast majority of codecs have been created by other companies, organizations or individuals. By default, the Windows operating system and the player includes a number of the most popular codecs, such as MP3, Windows Media Audio and Windows Media Video.

    Method 1.
How to determine what codec is installed and how to install it automatically?
    a. to determine what codec was used with a specific file, play the file in the player, if possible. When the file is playing, right-click the file in the library, and then click Properties.
    b. on the file tab, look at the sections of video codec and Audio codec.
Download and install the Codecs by going to the PLAYER tab and check.
    c. connect you to the Internet and Download Codecs automatically.
For more information about codecs, see the articles below:
    Codecs: Frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/codecs-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 2.
If you know the name of the codec or its ID (called a id FourCC for video codecs or a WaveFormat identifier for audio codecs), try the search on the Internet. Often, you can go to the codec manufacturer's Web site to download the latest version of a codec.

  • When playing a DVD error: "unable to display analog protection, video driver update."

    Original title:

How to upgrade video driver.  get the message when I load the new dvd saying that analog protection cannot be displayed, updated video drver.

I have only this message each time to time on dvd again.  Most of them play without problem.  You want to solve the problem because I don't know if there is a codec problem or I need a video upgrade.

    Hello

Thanks for visiting and Microsoft Community to answer your concerns about giving!

When you try to play DVDs, you get the error "saying that analog protection cannot be displayed, update the video driver".

    Quick questions:

    1. What program you're using to play the DVD? (Windows media Player, Windows Media Center, etc.)
    2. What is the full error message?

The error message "cannot play the DVD because it is not possible to activate the analog copy on the output screen protection', you may encounter this error message for the following reasons:

    * Your DVD decoding software must be configured. If you have another DVD player program installed on your computer, read the DVD using this program and then try to play the DVD in Windows Media Player.

    * There is a problem with your video card configuration. Restart your computer, and then try again. If the error is not resolved, you may need to install a driver available for your video card.

To determine if there is a newer driver for your video card, perform one of the following:

o open Windows Update by clicking Start and then all programs.

Check for any updated driver for your video card. If found, try updating the video drivers.

o visit your computer or video card manufacturer's Web site.

See the Microsoft article below for more information on updating drivers: update drivers: recommended links

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-drivers-recommended-links

    For your information:

A codec is a software to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or a video. Windows Media Player and other programs use codecs to play and create digital media files.

A codec can consist of two components: an encoder and a decoder. The encoder performs the compression function (coding) and the decoder performs the decompression function (decoding). Some codecs include both components and some codecs only one of them.

For example, when you rip a song from an audio CD on your computer, the player uses the default Windows Media Audio codec to compress the song into a compact WMA file. When you play that WMA file (or any WMA file that may be broadcast from a Web site), the player uses the codec Windows Media Audio to decompress the file for music can be played through your speakers.

  • Windows Media Player cannot play back the video DVD.

Original title: Windows Media Player cannot play back the video DVD. You may need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try to lower your screen resolution and color quality settings.

I was troubleshooting video playback issues throughout the morning after the reconstruction of a machine with a fresh install of W7 Ultimate, shot a few questions there.

The first and foremost reason I couldn't play THE VIDEOS was due to the ATI Rage video card that was in the machine, proved that this card was not compatible for playback of DVD video on W7.  No problem with the system of video files (.avi, .mpg, .mp4, etc.), only reading DVD.  Disabling this card and media player running with a standard VGA device allowed me to play regular DVD movies very well.

Another question, I stumbled on was with burned copies of the DVD, it turned out that my system DVD players, (2, one is a HP630E and the other is a typical ATAPI DVD DD internal 8 x 16), have a problem with playing movies engraved on DVD - RW discs.  Playing discs DVD-R worked well on this system.

So in your case I try to disable the video device and let the system first use a VGA Standard, if your video plays well then check with the making of video for a updated driver device, saying "you have made any changes" does not mean that the system did not have a bad patch somewhere...

When you install a new version of the items, you are prompted to update the current catalog. Creating a new catalog with the data in the old. The new catalog has the same name as before and can be opened in the new version, the old catalog is unchanged, but renamed with a suffix-1 can be opened in the old version without any intervention on your part.

If you do agree to the conversion prompt, you can do it later from the Catalog Manager; same for the other catalogues.

Just be careful what you do in a catalog are ignored by the other, they cannot be updated by the other. This means that you will need to choose which version of catalog to choose to manage your files.

In addition, I don't see a way to use PSE12 catalogs to edit in the PSE14 Editor.
