Further investigation indicates the RPC and DCOM service Launcher are grayed out and cannot be started or stoped.   Registry settings look good for the RPC service.  The DCOM service depends on RPC service.  In the GUI at the same time say they are started but from the comand prompt, I run the command net start and neither one is registered as running.  Any help would be appreciated.
