  I have a problem with the KM stage custom when I try to pass the variable from the source to the target.

  The ODI version tha I use is the 11.1.1.5.0.

  I created a stage KM following the instructions of the metalink document (Doc ID 728636.1).

  But when I insert the value of the variable in a test table, the value in a table is the name of the variable.

  Where I'm wrong?

  (1) create a step in my goal of shell sql source and javabin KM. In the source tab I get the value of a query, and the name "LAST_UPDATE" column.

  In the target tab, I attribute to the variabile jv_last_update the value of the variable #LAST_UPDATE, with the same name in the selection column.

  

  (2) I created a second stage where I insert into a table of the value of the variable jv_last_update (to debug the value of the variable):

  Interesting... I have not read the Oracle document you sent yet, but one thing I can guarantee you, is that it doesn't. If Oracle says that it should work, maybe it's a bug, or maybe he has changed on new versions of ODI. I am also on ODI 11.1.1.5 and I tried many different ways to pass SQL results to variables of java with all sorts of different labels, but none of them worked for me as well. But I managed to use it in a different way, so please see below if it matches your needs:

  Now your variable must have the correct value of your SQL. To test it, I just write a comment 'Raise' to Jython in the second step:

  I use ODI 11.1.1.3
  
  My interface is mapping simple one in a column from table source on1 and the target table.
  
  The two source/target are in oracle 10g
  
  (1) what should be my LKM in source?
  the options at my disposal are
  (a) ORACLE LKM to ORACLE (databaselink)
  (b) LKM ORACLE FOR ORACLE (datapump)
  (c) LKM SQL for ORACLE
  
  There is NO simple ORACLe for Oracle LKm available
  I didn't create a DBlink
  
  
  What choices do I have?
  
  Should I create DBLINK or ODI does it create them directly and use (a)?
  
  Should I just use SQL for ORACLE? .... I'm getting insufficient privileges using this.
  
  Pls suggest

  Yes, you must specify the name of dblink in physical architecture during the creation of the data source server.
  Also the tnsnames.ora your DB target file must have an entry with the same name as the one your dblink specified in database server.

• How to import knowledge Modules

  I'm patching 10.1.5.3 and updated ODI to date the installation folder and technologies imported as described in the Group of hotfixes. In the end, I find one last step to import knowledge Modules, but I don't see how this is done.

  It comes to the hardware layer for Extraction (HAL) DLL.  Look for a copy in % systemroot%\ServicePackFiles.  If it is not in this directory, you probably have not installed the latest Service Pack.  If this isn't the case for updating hal.dll, install Service Pack 3 now the CD-ROM (see below), not Windows Update in order to run the (SFC) System File Checker utility in the future.  If she is in... \ServicePackFiles, recopy the % systemroot%\system32.  You need to be in safe mode to copy this file.  Do not copy from %systemroot%\$NTServicePackUninstall$ if it is there.

• Applications and the computer cannot find HP Deskjet 4180 printer

  Recently upgraded to Windows 8 XP (32 bit).  Downloaded the driver from the HP website for the HP Deskjet 4180 printer and installed it.  Open a document and select print as well as the application cannot find the printer.  The computer does not recognize a printer connected (via USB cable - no network connection).

  Then I downloaded the installation wizard and he can identify the HP devices connected via USB and has chosen the correct software to download and install.  He identified the aircraft and said the basic software that it is installed and recommended that I have the full software.  I did this, which involves downloading a file of 291MB and it works. Eventually return to the same point in the installation wizard and most recognized once the device but the claims only the basic software is installed - followed the instructions on-screen, downloaded 291MB file and the wizard could have do me it again for a 3rd time!  Printer is still not not regonised when I try to print.

  Sorry, you have problems getting the printer to set up and print.  Here is a video on uninstalling software of the printer in Windows 8 (which is step 1).  After uninstall, restart the computer, then try to install the full feature software and drivers Deskjet 4180 (link is for Windows 8 32 bit) using this download.

  To the best of my knowledge, this driver should work (I have not heard otherwise).  Try this for me first and if it doesn't work, tell me what is happening. I hope this works!

  In case it helps the next person: I re-read the page of Mozilla to find the file.

  So, rather than looking in the Application databases, I dug through my files user myself, using the information that it would be under User/Library etc.

  It took a few minutes of poking around to find it. I deleted it, restarted TB, and the search function is back.

  The mystery that I can't solve it is why the recommended method or research Spotlight of the CMA does not find it in the first place. But with time and patience, the manual search does the job.
