  I have an Alienware aurora r4 I bought last year. Ive been trying to get my surround sound to work but to no avail.

  My computer has the 6 connectors meant for sound... (I think that the Pink is the microphone) and an optical cable port with and another connection that is a bit 'Orange', it's just next to the optical port, if someone can tell me the name I will be greatfull.

  I have a surrounding (I think what its called a "receiver") which can use only the optical cable. I don't know whether the orange port next to the optical port on my computer, but I can't use it with what I have.

  Here my problem, I can hear the sound coming out, to make it work... But its not 5.1/7.1, it comes regularly sounds on the left and the right.

  Surround sound bit-streaming (like a DVD movie) work on Optical SPDIF. That should work now. That sound does not take a lot of space because it is digital and it only sent directly to the receiver. Only, he's has decoded and extended to 5.1 channels of sound.

  Games do not use. They use 5.1 channels of the PCM. To get this to work, you must use ONE of them:

  1. the 4 analog connections. Yes, like a Logitech speaker system.

  2. a better sound card. Internal or external.   In the past, I was able to get CUDA on my GeForce GTX 560 Ti card to work with the Mercury playback engine by adding 'GeForce GTX 560 it' in the file cuda_supported_cards.txt. But with the new version of CC 2014 first, this file is not in the repertoire of Premiere Pro more. Is there a way to get my GTX 560 it be listed as a card support for CUDA with CC 2014?

  So, I thought about it.  I installed the latest graphics driver, and then open the NVIDIA Control Panel.  Here, I've selected "Manage 3D settings" and went to the 'Program settings' tab  I chose Adobe Premiere (adobe first pro.exe) in the list and under the function of "CUDA" - GPU, I changed to "Use these GPU" and selected my GTX 560 it (which was the only one listed).

  After that, I opened the first Pro CC 2014 and selected 'Project Settings - général' and was therefore able to choose "Mercury Playback Engine GPU acceleration" under Renderer (which was unavailable).
