I've updated to Firefox, The Free Dictionary has lost some essential features, cannot get back them. The DFT now only works in English. What should do?
I updated Firefox to 10.0.2 and lost the functionality of The Free Dictionary. I reinstalled TFD, but now it only works in English. Say I read a German Web page, highlight a Word, the dictionary will seek in the English Dictionary. Before that I had all the versions I needed, and the dictionary automatically in the right. And before that I could have the toolbar installed, now there is no option for this either. What should I do?
Maurizio salute, I asked you to a problem with the free dictionary. I found the solution, which in fact was not technical. In case someone else has the same, that's what I did not understand: when I highlight a word in a text in a language other than English, the dictionary gives me an explanation in English, i.e. 'not found word', but when I then press 'Search', the dictionary connect in the appropriate dictionary. It works even in Chinese! So, problem solved. The dictionary is not as good as before, but still, it works. Best regards, Markku

BlackBerry smartphones lost my contacts on the phone and cannot get back them.
My phone has load the other night during a power failure and the morning my contacts and contacts BB disappeared. These contacts are not lost, because it's my gmail contacts list - but I can't get back them on my phone. I clicked all the buttons on the sync, but no luck. I can't manually add a contact and not seeing him. In the options of the contacts, it says I have 288 contacts associated with my gmail account, and when I manually add one, it goes up by another number. But - I can't see them anywhere.
Also, I deleted the email account and set up again ensuring the sync box, took out the battery and SIM card and put back and still nothing. Advice anyone?
You see if gmail is your default service for a list of contacts?

Check the sections under
For BlackBerry Device Software 4.2 to 5.0 or BlackBerry Device Software 6.0
If this is the case, then delete the account gmail from your device and set up in this way:
Since the device, go to mobile.blackberry.com
Scroll to connect and click Send.
Click on join now to gmail. See if the sync works now. -

Lost all my shortcuts on the desktop and cannot get back them!
Whenever I turn on my laptop, my living room of shortcuts for a few seconds, when the office, then they disappear forever once that it has finished loading! This has happened for a few weeks now and I don't know how to fix it. Also, when I right click on any program and try to send it on the desktop as a shortcut, it does not work, nothing happens! I tried to restore to a couple different points before the last windows update, and that didn't work either. I also run full antivirus scans, etc & still nothing. Help please! I want my shortcuts back!
Do you know when this problem started? Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started. Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points. If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two. NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates. I hope you have a point to rstore dating back that far.
If this does not work, go to start / computer / C:\Users\
\desktop (and you may also go to C:\Users\All Users\Bureau) and see if they contain elements of your desktop. If so, copy all files and paste them on your desktop. You can probably rearrange, but who should return them. If this does not work, your user profile may be corrupted. To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile. If that is the only available Administrator Profile (you need to be an administrator to fix this), enable the Hidden Administrator Account (HAA) using http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?&lang=en&cr=US&guid=&sloc=en-us&dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.administration_accounts_passwords&p=1&tid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055&mid=d20f9db4-7b2c-48be-a087-7835dc2a9055. If you don't remember the password, try nothing because that's probably what you (or seller) did during the installation. Once that is done, don't forget to disable the HAA to save it in case it is necessary once again and for safety reasons (since people often try to hack into systems using this account). Do NOT use the HAA as your administrator account because if you lose the only administrator on the system account or it is damaged again, then you're watered.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

I lost the rights of Directors and cannot get back them... Please help!
It seems that after my CA Security Suite has been updated, I lost my administrative rights. I've been chatting live with them, and they claim that this has nothing to do with them.
What I'm trying to gives me a command prompt that I "don't have access to users', but it will allow me to continue. I'm scared to play in user accounts, so I won't spoil things... I created a new administrator account, but when I click on that I get an error and it's not imitate my office of origin.

I removed the toolbars so I could see below thinking that I could easily get them back, but I can't. How can I get back them? I can't even put a new web address now. Or refresh a page. Or go to the front/back. How can I solve this problem?
It depends on how you
- Choose the Mode "full screen" or
- unchecked toolbars
The F11 key activates / turns off Mode full screen or not. Full screen, you have no toolbars, no tab and no bar Add on (bottom).
If unchecked you your toolbars (checked = displayed; UN - check = not displayed), and then do one of the following, then click on those you want to check/uncheck:
- Right-click in the empty space at the end of the tab bar
- Press the ALT key or the F10, the poster Menu bar, click View > toolbars
- Firefox > Preferences > advanced > General tabFirefox > Preferences > advanced > general tab
- Hold down the ALT key and type the letters of the keyboard V T
- the URL/address bar, buttons previous/next, refresh/reload buttons are located on the Navigation toolbar

If you have not created backups of them, you will not be able to recover.
If you create backups of your user data, you must copy the two backup files, key3db and signons.sqlite and place them in your profile folder.

No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
are a few others. You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.
