Cannot get my Satellite A305-s6857 to start

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A305-s6857. When I push the power button the power light turns on, then I hear a click may not know the fan and cdrom light is lit in orange, no display on the screen; nothing else happens. And then the power turns off.

I suspect there is something wrong with the BIOS, but I'm not sure. Please someone knows how can I do to fix this?

Hello

To me, it looks like a serious hardware problem
I think that as a first step, the RAM should be checked
You should try to switch on the laptop using that one module in different locations

If this will not help, then another part may be affected. CPU, motherboard, etc.
In most cases it of not possible to say what role could be faulty

Generally, a hardware diagnostic test must be done to get the details on the problem
In m opinion that a technician should be contacted if your warranty is valid, then everything should be done free fro

Greetings and good luck

    I have laptop Satellite A305-S6857.

A few days ago my computer did not work well.
So I did format and reinstall the Vista trial version because I lost my CD of vista.

Then after I tried to turn on but did not work. I put my product key at the bottom of my computer.
I'm really horrible at the computer.
Now, I can't use my internet and everything.

because I don't know where are the driver files. Can someone help me?

Tell me where are the driver files and why wasn't my product key.

The button on the underside is not a kind of universal key and it will not activate your Vista. This key belongs to the recovery image, that you got with your laptop. If you use the Microsoft CD/DVD facilities, then get the original key. If you don't have it you can activate it online.

Before that, configure all hardware and internet access. All the drivers, tools and utilities for this model of laptop you can find on US Toshiba support page - http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

  • Satellite A305-S6857 - 64-bit XP FN keys do not work

    Hello

I have an A305-S6857 and tried with XP Pro 64-bit. Drivers SATA BACK integrated and installed fine; the only driver I had to draw from Vista 64 bit was the RICOH card reader, the rest of Intel or were detected automatically.

Also have the problem with the FN keys, cannot control the brightness. Downloaded the files of a such A300 model suggested by PC Tech with no luck.

Before you install these windows files, one can enable/disable second computer laptop monitor or sleep; nothing else works.

Could go back to Vista, my battery can last up to 4 hours without wifi, 3 hours with wifi, not using USB devices, power saving mode and turning off all the lights from the BIOS. Same with XP settings give me an average of an hour and a half of battery.

    PCtech, installed XP 32 bit?

    Kind regards.

Your FN buttons don t work because Toshiba does not provide the common Modules for Windows XP 64-bit.
The common Modules is one of the essential drivers/tools that are needed to get the FN buttons work.

I doubt you'll be able to use these buttons using the Win XP 64 bit

  • Cannot connect by Satellite A305 Linksys WRT160N wireless

I have a Satellite A305-S6839 with Windows Vista Edition Home Premium that I tried to connect wireless to a Linksys Wireless - N WRT160N router but I am unable to get the service.
I can configure the router and it transmits properly, but for some reason that I can't connect to it. I tried to reboot several times that the manufacturer suggested unplugging the cables, but that did not work. I suspect that there are drivers I need to download for this operation.

    Someone give some advice?

First, visit the Toshiba support site we and install the latest BIOS and Wifi Driver.

Second, try to change the Wifi settings-Wifi card-> properties > Device Manager. Increase power output, select "802. 11 g-only", turn off energy-saving.

    Hello

Therefore, 8 GB RAM upgrade is not possible.

  • Cannot get my Satellite C50-A-157 at startup

Hi people I have a Toshiba satellite A-C50-157, just three weeks. It wouldn't connect to the internet last night, kept saying that it was unable to display the page. Then the cursor froze and the touchpad would not answer. I have attached the mouse and finally, he responded to that. Still wouldn't let me online so decided, I would like to do a system restore. He passed for centuries, and nothing seemed to be going, I had to go out so had to turn it off. Tried to get back in there today, but everything is the screen flashes between black and gray.

Toshiba offices is closed, so I was wondering if someone can help out me? My knowledge is pretty basic, so any help would be appreciated!

Hey cool. What did you do exactly?

  • Cannot get my Satellite A210 to work

    Hello

Please can someone help? Have the Toshiba A210 series. He was more than a year and never able to make it work. I managed to download a series of pictures and managed to play a game that is already on the pc, but never got in to go online.

Finally I went to broadband as the thought ISP that might solve the problem. due to a lot of personal things not had time to get on the new laptop (with an old) I went today, and he greeted me and asked for a password. (I don't know if I've ever had as far as one)
Tried the 3 that I use regularly, and none are the right ones.

I then click on a link and it tells me to insert the disk (not an and do not think that I have reason to put it in the pc) or plug it in USB flash driver. I have no one and have no idea what all this means. Surely if I had a blank USB driver that wouldn't be good.
I tried to reset to factory settings, but jammed as all he wants is my password that I do not know or have forgotten. has rang a helpline, they could not help, like laptop, more than a year and could not afford to sound a £1. 50 p minute line.

Thank you very much in anticipation.
I hope I can find this page again.

    Hello Marion

To be honest I didn't understand the problem with the password and floppy, but it is not so important.
In my opinion, you should install recovery image and start using your laptop with the own operating system preinstalled and factory condition.

If you still have original Toshiba recovery media, that you got with your laptop use for installing the OS.
    Please follow these steps:
Turn on your portable computer, press F12 repeatedly
Of startup menu appears with a list of all bootable devices
Put the recovery DVD in the optical disc drive
In the list, choose the CD/DVD drive (use arrows up and down) and confirm with ENTER
Follow the menu on the screen

Please let us know if you will be able to begin the recovery installation, follow these steps.

  • Cannot get the DHCP client service to start automatically

I work on a computer that has been recently infected with a fake AV protection virus.  The user has removed the virus using Microsoft Essentials and Malwarebytes.  Subsequently, they were unable to connect to a network with wired network cards or wireless.

The afd.sys file has been deleted and couldn't start the DHCP client.  As soon as I restored the AFD, I was able to manually start the DHCP client.  At this point, I was able to connect to the network and get on the internet.

The problem is that I restarted the computer and saved in Windows, the DHCP client is not automatically start as it should by the setting.  I can still go and start it manually, but it does not start by itself.

I tried to use Winsock fix, the different netsh commands, / flushdns and enough & renew, tdsskiller and a number other programs I have come across.

Computer is running Windows XP Service Pack 3

Microsoft Essentials, Malwarebyes, Superantispyware and CCleaner are all installed.

Any ideas on how to get this to start running automatically without having to do a reinstall of Windows XP?

    Thank you.

an error saying there is no hard drive installed.

This may mean that you have a SATA drive.  If so, you have to activate something like "legacy mode" in the BIOS before you can use the XP CD to do a reinstall (unless you have a floppy drive to add SATA drivers or integrate a CD with SATA drivers).

    Hello

Is this the result even when you use the settings Windows wireless?

  • Cannot get into the bios of the start screen.

Well I had run into trouble with my video card, and it had to be replaced. Before I do that but I was invited to try a system recovery to get rid of any possible program that was at the origin of defective symptoms of a video card.

Well, I replaced the video card and everything has been fixed. But... because of the recovery of the system, some of my settings changed in Bios is returned back to default. I remember specifically in the Bios to disable the action keys (Fn + everything related F who did something).

Problem is now I can't return to the Bios to change the settings once more.

In order to dispel some of the suggestions more simple I tried already:

Using another keyboard (allows me to enter the Setup program, reinstall system, diagnostics, etc. very well but not Bios)

Unplug everything in the back, but the monitor and keyboard

Erased from the memory CMOS, which led me to a screen saying that my Bios is set by default and to go to the configuration, press F10. But by pressing F10 led me to the single configuration screen and couldn't get into the BIOS.

I carefully searched the internet to find answers for this problem, but I really hit a dead-end.

I want to say I know that I've changed before setting on this computer it's just that I don't remember how. I mean I tried F1, F2, Del, Ctrl + Alt, and everything inbetween for shortcut keys enter the BIOS nothing helped.

Thanks in advance for your reply eagerly to receive a response.

Oh and I have a HP Pavilion Slimline s5260f, if that helps anything.

Well fiddle with stuff I have solved my problem. Thing, it's actually, I couldn't have what I wanted through the BIOS screen. I remember he made on my friends computer to get rid of it, where their BIOS had more options.

As for anyone with my problem (hit accidentally the Fn and the sleep button) I recommend that to go in Control Panel Power Options - then select doing nothing to hit the Sleep button.

  • Satellite A305 keeps restarting

    I have a Satellite A305-s6857.
    Windows xp 64 bit vista.

This is what is happening, please bare with me it gets really confusing. Laughing out loud

My laptop keeps restarting on its own.
at first I thought it was overheating - so I downloaded SPECCY and clean the radiator using carbon Spray. CPU temperature average around 60 degrees.

so after ANOTHER REFORMAT. the computer worked fine, installed all the drivers using the recovery CD. (computer remained without restarting)
everything worked well. After you have installed all the drivers, I restarted the computer and it came

"your account has been disabled. Please contact your system administrater' so I went safe mode created an administrator account.
Another thing to install TOSHIBA came after rrestarting the computer where I would choose an account name and password.
so after that I got through the process, he went on the desktop.

After that, he did it again. Computer keeps restarting, sometimes only takes a few seconds, sumtimes lasts 5 minutes.

RELATED ISSUE: Tuner FM from Toshiba keeps repeatedly installation and restart the computer.
then I went to msconfig and disabled everything on start up.

I don't know much about laptops, but in MY OPINION.

It is a software problem, VISTA/driver problem, if its vista I think it has something to do with the admin default thing, cus when I am connected to this account, that it has not been restarted.
but when this thing "account disabled" came and I had to use a new user, he did it again.

AND ALSO: When in safe MODE, the computer does not restart.

someone please get back to me.

    Thank you
    Jason winter

    Hello

    > I have a Satellite A305-s6857 running windows xp 64-bit vista.

What Windows environment it restarts: Win Xp or Vista or both?

    > so after a REFORMATER FEES. the computer worked fine, installed all the drivers using the recovery CD. (a computer stayed on without restart) everything worked fine. After you have installed all the drivers, I restarted the computer and it came

It looks like a driver/driver causes reboot.

Can remove you it at all to check?

It's really annoying and after that I got a few messages pop up, my computer has become slow and sometimes it stopped

    help me guys...

    > He says that the Publisher could not be verified. are you sure you want to run this software?
Maybe something wrong with the graphics card driver or other software which is not certified by Microsoft

Did you use some third-party software, tools and 3rd applications?
Have you installed the drivers from Toshiba or other websites of third 3rd page?

Check the msconfig-> Start up tab and take a look at the list of background processes.
If there are some applications that are not known to you, then turn it off.

In the worst cases, you need to reinstall the OS.

    Hello

I googled this file pofusido.dll and it could be caused by a virus.

I would suggest that you disable the restore mode as viruses use it to reinstall set apart them.

Download and install the free http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Restart the computer and keep pressing F8 to get into safe mode with network connection.

Once you have updated Malwarebytes run and see if it can remove the virus.

So delete all cookies in your internet Explorer.

Please keep in mind that my answer is based on the information in your message. More the better I can answer, Slan go foill, Paul
