cannot get the keyboard to select windows xp when I have only four seconds to select is stuck on windows xp professional and cannot get the keyboard to use arrows to select

cannot get the keyboard works when reebooting said cd I need driver sata when reebooting he gives four seconds to schrol up to windows xp but the line is highlighted on a windows xp profesional bellows and can't seem to choose windows xp on its own keyboard wont respond but lights from F1 or f2 f3 until f12 choose please help

A few old machines will not recognize a USB keyboard/mouse until after Windows starts.  Look at the back of your computer and see if you have a PS/2 (round) connector for a keyboard and a mouse.  If you do, then you will need to use a keyboard with a round PS/2 connector or a USB-to-PS/2 adapter and plug the PS/2 connector on the back of your computer so that it recognizes the keyboard until Windows starts on your keyboard.

The SATA driver applies to your hard drive.  A CD of start-up/installation of Windows XP does not recognize a SATA hard drive.  If you install Windows, you will need to hit F6 at the right time and insert a floppy with the SATA driver on this subject.

I just reinstalled my own copy of Windows 7 Professional and I get an error of activation.  How it enabled?  Who can I call?

the easiest way is to use your COA key. (it can be found in your battery compartment.)
Unfortunately, the recovery media is AWOL

You should also have an OEM recovery partition that can be used to retrieve shipped from your system to a State. check your documentation or your manufacturer's website for instructions on how to use it. You can also order your manufacturer's recovery disks.

Yes, you can, but not with the free upgrade, you will need to purchase a full license for Windows 10 to do this.

    Step 1: purchase a license:

    Buy Windows 10 family/professional edition

The windows of origin is always on display as shown above, but I received a free upgrade to Windows XP Professional CD and installed on my computer. And under 'Information system', it shows as - Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3.

This problem started about 10 days when I used the CD of XP Professional to correct a problem. My computer is a Dell Dimension 5100 and I have two CDs that were sent to me - Dell - Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP 3 and Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Version 2005 with update Rollup 2.

Thanks again and I ran the "fix it" you suggested but it have no problem found to fix. Every thing works fine on my system, but Media Center won't play DVD. It will play CDs and videos on my system.

The initial problem was that I could not download the Blackberry Desktop Software - updates needed. The computer came with Windows XP Media Center Edition Home and I use Internet Explorer 8 as my default browser. I also use Mozilla Firefox as my backup browser.

Please stick to your thread to avoid confusion of origin: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_xp-windows_update/i-have-upgraded-to-windows-xp-professional-and-now/f5245962-e9b4-4415-8aff-bc1d972f8120

Note that I asked you to MOVE your original thread on the forum of material WinXP, not start a new thread.

Also note that you don't have NO Windows XP Media Center Edition, installed now if you upgraded to Windows XP Professional.

PS: If "winver" still says Windows XP Media Center Édition, did you not correctly upgraded & something is not. Better contact the Dell Support on this issue (if they'll still talk to you).

When I have only a single virus of Gabrielle, I know, this program is Mcafee.

It is not recommended to run two anti-virus programs at the same time.  It will make the System unstable, crashes, slow performance and so on.  It is better to use a program that you trust on a regular basis and if you want to double check this program, use a parser in line one of the main websites AV.

  • Conditions of the retail of Windows XP Professional and license and decal OEM COA / label question:

Hello everyone and especially lawyers license!

It's pretty obvious (applying common sense) that a single license is a single Installation, no matter if Windows XP, Vista or 7, or OEM or retail.

    However...

    Question 1:
Is that the only true, firmer and more correct to do statement?
""Windows XP Professional OEM license dies with your computer / caisse".

    Question 2:
I have two DELL computers. One is with Windows XP Professional OEM (Dell) and the other with Windows Vista Business OEM (Dell). I would like to swap/Exchange two licenses COA stickers (if it's physically possible) and simply change the Microsoft Windows operating system on these two computers. From what I understand at this time - and please correct me if I'm wrong - Microsoft Licensing policy said it is legally impossible. True? Fake?

    Question 3:
This question is about the "decommissioning" of Windows Vista business to Windows XP Professional. I'm OK with my understanding that there are some licenses of Windows Vista Business out there that can be legally retired, and some who cannot?
How do I determine by looking at just the Windows Vista Business OEM COA sticker, if it is a license that can legally be downgraded or not?
If it can be downgraded, can I license Windows Vista Business COST just the installation of Windows XP Professional key, when asked to enter?

Thank YOU ALL for your expertise and your help!

    Hello

Question 1: "Windows XP Professional OEM license dies with your computer / caisse"-c' is licensed OEM is NOT transferable to another machine and once your dies of PC/LAptop, then the license dies with him.

Question 2: You cannot exchange an OEM license of any computer to another. This includes exchanging the COA from one device to another, making of this ould invalidate your license, as the certificate of authenticity shall be kept with the license provided with the original machine.

Question 3: Downgrade rights allow you to get off at analogues for the same edition of vista, IE company from Vista to XP Pro, you cannot downgrade from Vista to XP Pro home.

hope that answers all your questions.

  • I get a message HTTP/1.1 401 unauthorized when I try to use a file sharing program. I use windows 7 Professional and firefox ver 40.0.2.

I use a file to http://www.psms-cpa.com/exchange.html Exchange program
It should bring up a box of connection credentials, but I get HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized
I use windows 7 Professional, Firefox ver 40.0.2
It works fine on other computers using FIrefox ver 40.0.2 and it worked fine for the past 2 weeks ago.

This page is actually a framework around another site (https://client.psms-cpa.com/). You can load pages framed in a new tab by right clicking on the error page, expanding the submenu 'this framework', then Open Frame in a new tab.

40 Firefox no longer displays the login prompt of authorization basis for a framed page that is hosted on a different server. This is to protect you from accidentally giving your credentials for the external page for an attacker.

One solution is to use the page framed directly, but if you prefer to disable this new protection, there is an option to do so. Of course, please be wary of this guest appearing on other sites.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press enter/return. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste auth and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference of network.auth.allow - subresource-auth and edit the 1 to 2, and then click OK

    • 1 shows the dialog box logon only for pages framed, images, etc., hosted on the same site
    • 2 allows the connection to pages dialog box framed, images, etc., hosted on any site

This should take effect the next time you reload the external page (your home address).

upgrading Vista to Windows 7 Professional

I followed the instructions given on the MS site to upgrade my vista to windows 7.  I answered the questions and MS said that I had to purchase the Professional upgrade from windows 7.  After purchasing, I tried to install it and the upgrade program says that I can't upgrade vista with this version.  Is there a work around for this problem, because I don't want to do a full install.

    Hi JimNorman,

    1. What is the version/edition of windows vista installed on the computer?

    2. How do you try to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7 (via anytime put at level or by using a disk)?

Make sure that you upgrade to the correct version, some versions of Windows cannot be upgraded with the installation disc you are trying to use. For example, you cannot upgrade a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version, or upgrade a higher edition of Windows like Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, to a lower edition, such as Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. If this is the case, you will need to use the custom during installation option.

Before you attempt to upgrade, please run the Windows 7 upgrade Advisor:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

Also, check if your computer is compatible for Windows 7, using the Compatibility Center:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

To learn more about the upgrade process, please visit the link below:
