Cannot install Call of duty 4 (16-bit application) on Vista 64-bit

Hello

I just call of duty 4 and I can't install the game because it says that I need a support for 64-bit version. I tried to change the compatibility properties for Windows XP service pack 2, but still does not work.

Help?

Thank you

Simon

Hi Simon1160,

I think you have an incorrect version of the file of installation of Call of Duty. As far as I know, Call of Duty 4 is not available in 16 bits.
I would like to know the exact error you receive when installing COD 4.

It's the system requirements for installing COD 4 on Vista:

Required (minimum) space:
CPU: Intel (r) Pentium (r) 4 2.4 GHz or processor AMD Athlon (TM) 64 2800 + or any 1.8 Ghz Dual Core Processor or better supported
RAM: 512 MB RAM (768 MB for Windows Vista)
Hard drive: 8 GB of free space
Video card: Nvidia Geforce (TM) 6600 or better or Radeon (R) ATI 9800 Pro or better.

Recommended space:
Processor: dual core 2.4 GHz or higher
RAM: 1 G for XP; 2 GB for Vista
Hard drive: 8 GB of free space
Video card: 3.0 Shader support recommended. NVIDIA Geforce 7800 or better, ATI Radeon X 1800 or better.

As an additional information, please visit the link of Activation Support for COD 4:

Let us know if it helps.

Kind regards
Clement Kumar.

Hi, OK so here is how I did it. I have a Vista 64-bit operating system, and I had the same problem. First, click on file -WHSConnectorx64.msi , and when the apears promp to save or run, click on save and just save it to your desktop. Then click on the -setup.exe file and and when you are prompted to run or save, you can save it to the desktop or run it. I don't remember exactly what I did at that time, but there are only two options. If you save it on your desktop, simply open the installation program and it should be able to find the rest of the required information complete the 64-bit installation. After you have installed the sowtware connector that I came across another problem. Because I'm also on my PC wirlessley I couldn't actually Conect to Server console initially. I found that by disabliling the my security software internet temporarily, that I was able to connect, and everything seems fine. I hope it's useful. Thank you

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I'm unable to install updates for iTunes (last successful update was my PC itunes 12.2.2.25 64 bit). The error message I get when you try to run the downloaded exe file from apple is: 'there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your supplier of staff or the package of support ". Please indicate what the problem is and how I can fix. I am not able to backup or synchronize my devices (for example iphone 6 sec) over to my PC as it is said that iTunes must be 12.3 or higher. Thank you - Bryan

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, and then reinstall iTunes.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

You have the correct license (non - OEM Windows XP license) for this computer?  One license per installation.

If you boot from the Windows XP CD, actually start from a legitimate WIndows XP CD - you can not install Windows 7 — you can only be failed install WIndows XP somehow.

Sounds - perhaps - like a bad CD or CD drive (the last becomes more common.)

  • Cannot install itunes on windows 8 64-bit.

just got a new laptop of WIn8. will not let me install itunes 10.7; said the program is incompatible and will not run the installation program. Any IDE? Have to wait as Apple updated itunes?

I have the answer I think that, even if it is not for the non-techie types. Fortunately, he does not imply the registry entries or a command prompt, it is not that difficult if you follow each step carefully. :) Seriously, take a deep breath, consider a step at a time and you can do the.

Before these measures taken, I couldn't get iTunes to install, but I understood this process recently with another program that gave me problems. Once I did this I have iTunes to run without any problems at all.

FIRST: You need to download and Save the full install package to iTunes. It will not work if it's a web installer! So don't go on iTunes and just hit Install. You must use the download and save.
I used iTunes 10.7.0.21 is told by the way. I downloaded it in October 2012, but the timestamp real Digital Signature says September 10, 2012. If possible, I recommend trying to get this version, in order to get out of another potential variable. Once downloaded go the file itself, probably in the downloads.
    1. Open the iTunes Setup file Properties (right click, properties) and you will see five tabs at the top: general, compatibility, Digital Signatures, security and details.
    2. In compatibility hit the button change the settings for all users , then check to run Windows 7 and run as Admin. Press Apply and réécrirait usual property tabs
    3. Then go to Security and click on Advanced
    4. In Advanced Options, you will see probably two types user unknown with a digital channel for a long time after. Not exactly sure what these are (probably Apple associated with), but they cause problems with the installers, so we are going to get out them. Click on one and press disable inheritance , and then click the button that appears to convert inherited permissions to explicit permissions on this object.
    5. After that select two unknown profiles and press delete and apply
    6. Then go to the last tab in this group (still in the Advanced Setup menu), which is entitled effective access
    7. Press to Select a user , and type the name that you use to connect to Windows 8 with in the Open box and then click on check names (name of your full user profile will come) and click OK
    8. When you do that, you can hit OK until you are off the menu of propriety .
    9. Run install, and I think you'll be all set, if this isn't an official technical support.
    Good luck!
