  Yes, it is better to update the old Mac EC.

  Have an older CV (990c, m series) which worked fine on my iMac Leopard PPC (X.5.8) running.

  Since the upgrade to the new Intel iMac running Mountain Lion (the most recent software upgrades / w X.8.2) this printer will print only in black and white, despite having new color and cartridges inkjet black installed - even the test pattern that prints automatically when I changed the print cartridges only in B & W.

  The detailed print dialog box that appears when I try to print a color page does not include the usual option to print in color.

  I think that HP is no longer provides this older printer drivers but guess they are in the software updates in Mac OS.

  Someone has an idea how I can fix it, or is it just time to recycle this printer and buy a new one?

  I have Adobe Web Premium CS4 and use it with happiness.  However, I now need InDesign. I've been using Microsoft Publisher, but I would try InDesign, because I think that it would work better. The only application options looks that suits me perfectly. But I can not install.  I can open Adobe.com and save it.  I can click on my subscription where it shows that I had a Creative Cloud Free Membership trial period. That's all that is listed.  I try to click on 'manage the plan' and get a blank page.  I try to go through the indesign page at desktop Publishing software | Download the free trial version Adobe InDesign CC, this page will load, but then when I click on free trial (https://creative.adobe.com/products/download/indesign?promoid=KSPFR) I get nothing other than the blank page.  I try click on buy now because I think I have him enjoy it enough to buy (plans pricing and membershipcreative cloud |) Adobe Creative Cloud) and nothing but a blank page.  There is no pop up blocker active.  I completely DISABLED my antivirus (Norton) to be sure, that there is no conflict.  Everything else on the computer works well, including the internet.

  Pure, install the new drive with the new Windows 7.  Creative cloud installed okay including Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat.  When you try to install InDesign I get "unable to extract in the temp directory.  Contact customer (EX11).  What is going on. Tried install 5 times.

Apparently, it is quite common when the temp directory is moved from your user profile. If you have tried to install and had the error of the AIR, and that you have downloaded the latest version of AIR as you are prompted to do so, and then you try to run Setup again, it will treat this as a custom installation. You have to scroll down through the programs on the right side of the window and Select the programs you want to install. Deselect Acrobat.com, Adobe AIR and Adobe Media Player (they can be downloaded separately later), but everything else selected, click "install".   Try the following:
  Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
  Click Install now
  Accept the license agreement
  When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
  Click on drive Options
  Select the disc/s click on Delete
  Click new
  Click on apply
  Click OK
  Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

  If the problem persists, you can reinstall Windows XP, update your BIOS then try the installation again. Its possible that you have created the bootable USB key is damaged, try to create another copy, or try to install using a dvd player external usb.

  Basically, I'm unable to install anything with .msi (windows package install), I get the error messages like:

  "Installation directory must be on a local hard drive" (even if this is the case).
  It is not with a specific software, I have a problem with. For example I tried to install Acrobat, Quicktime, rhinoceros (3d software) and T-splines (plugin for Rhinoceros)... which was a mistake and had some msi installers, so I think its safe to assume this is not not the software, but a problem with my computer, and I suspect the registry eventually.
  Things I've tried so far without success
  • sfc/scannow
  • Microsoft fix it tool
  • Checked the status of windows install services (it was in operation)

  The only thing that I came close to using 'run as administrator' with quicktime as it was the only program which enabled this option as an msi file. This actually worked and was able to replace the DLL error somehow and install quicktime.
  Any help is really appreciated, I hope that his is not going to use a new installation on win 7 :(
