What do you do?
You want to install applications on the hidden partition or what?
Why did you hide the partition?

I use also the 8 and I must say that it s a fantastic program.
I divided my HARD drive into 3 partitions C, D, E
On C, I have installed Windows operating system and all applications like MS Office for example.

On the partition D and E, I placed all the documents, files, images, etc.
As you can see, the programs are installed on the same partition as the operating system Win and I didn't hide all partitions.

It works very well

  • Squeak inside the Satellite P100-387

I updated the BIOS in my laptop P100-387, to version 3.30 (from probably 2.20). After that, I hear a silent scream, especially on the left side of the laptop. The intensity of squeak has changed when I run glxgear (in linux with opengl support) and resize the window. The grinding is not audible when the window is maximized.

This happens on windows and linux. The State of the battery makes a difference.

I would like to know if there is a Posibility to damage the material. Also, I would like to know if you plan to perform another a BIOS update. If this isn't the case, then where can I find the original version of the BIOS (I forgot to backup)?

    Hi Peter

At first, I just want to say that if you write these questions to Toshiba, you're on the wrong place here. This is a user forum and no place where you can talk directly with Toshiba.

It is not easy to discuss some strange noises because here on the forum, no one can imagine how it sounds and the best solution is to contact the service and deal with this issue. Of course there is possibility of damaging the material, but here on the forum person cannot confirm with certainty.

One last thing on BIOS. There is just the latest version of the BIOS available on download from Toshiba site, and you will not be able to find an old. Speak with the service. They can help you and maybe all this ca be repaired in a few days. Please do not panic, make a call!

  • Fingerprints and the remote control supported on Satellite P100-387

P100-387 has a fingerprint and the remote? Please, someone answer me.
    Thank you.

    Hello

To my knowledge, the Satellite P100-387 does not support the fingerprint reader and is not supplied with the remote control.
    But you're right.
The fingerprints and the remote control are optional and some laptops in the P100 series support fingerprint reader and are delivered with command remotely.

  • Cannot install programs that depend on temporary files

When you try to install several different programs, each one comes with an error that it cannot find a temporary file (often .exe) that it needs to continue. The file is always in the AppData/Local/Temp folder and is simply not there. Any suggestions that could mitigate this problem?

    Hi Liam Kelley,

    1. What is the complete error message you receive when installing programs?
    2. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    3. When was the last time it was working fine?
    4. You have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

I suggest that you try to install programs using administrator privileges and check if that helps.

    • Right-click on the Setup file, and then click on run as administrator.

    Method 2

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

But when I remove an executable statement my work normally requires.

  • Try to get the HD-DVD player to work on the Satellite P100-463

    Hello world.
I bought this baby the weekend and since I am struggeling trying to get HD-DVDs to work on it. I added the HD_DVD xbox 360 drive, but Power DVD Software Advisor continues to say that the graphic card 9Geforce Go 7900) drivers must be updated to read HD-DVD content. Now, there is no available such as newer driver installed (84.0?)

Can someone please advise if the card supports protection hdcp anyway? Maybe my problem is another source.
    Thanks for the tips.

Wait do you use player designed for the Xbox in the Satellite P100?
Hmm, I m surprised that this device is compatible with the Toshiba laptop.
Anyway, as far as I know you need a special DVD player to play and watch HD-DVD on the laptop.
A simple WinDVD does not support the new HD-DVD.

By the way: I know a Toshiba model that shipped with the HD_DVD drive.
It was a Qosmio G30 DVD HD model.
I found a new Nvidia GeForce Go7600 8.3.2.7 Version graphics card driver update in the download section of driver on the Toshiba site
But I put t know if it s compatible with your card...

  • Cannot install Google earth. Error in the administrator account: "your system administrator set policies against the installation of this program.

Original title: why not my Windows XP SP3 machine allows installation of any product from google?

I am running Windows XP SP3 and what-so-ever did not want to upgrade to Vista or Win7.
Now I try to install google earth, what is happening is the setup.exe for downloading google earth data, but will not perform the installation process.

I get an error message saying that "the installation failed, try again."
So I asked google if he could understand that out and they were no help, so I decided to use the administrator account on my computer to install it, what was interesting on this topic (and disturbing) was that after running the same setup.exe file, a different error came up saying that "your system administrator set policies against installing this program" (or something like that)
now, I checked everything in "Political system" under administrative options, but still no help.
    Can someone help me please?
    Derek "Rick."

Well, it seems that the program has been installed, it was not recognized as a program in one of the directories, I have just fallen on the directory with the program Google earth work. The directory was hidden in the ~ temp file deep inside the C:\ drive
