cannot open firefox; Profile showed lock-uninstalled and reinstalled, still cannot access
Years, I used Firefox-suddlenly it won't open (can access the site with another browser). After spending hours reading forums, autonomies, etc. that I tried to look at the profile and he had a parental.lock shown in this topic. I am the administrator of the computer, so I know it's not computer partner. I tried to remove the lock (which I introduced myself to succeed in restarting the computer but when same could not access Firefox.
Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and get a message to close the previous version of Firefox. The update will not start.
Can someone PLEASE, please help me?
You run the update, you will need to stop the firefox.exe
process through the Task Manager.

Unable connect message is displayed for each Web site. IE works fine. I think the problem has something to do with the Firefox update I got this morning from notification. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox and the problem persists. I tried the restart without Add-ons, still does not work. What's next?
Hello, Barnetta, normally these problems are caused by a security/firewall software which does not recognize and therefore blocks the new versions of firefox. If please delete all the rules of the program for firefox to your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.

Firefox has been updated automatically at 7, and now all the sites I go on horizontal active things, that you have to click will do nothing. for example in ebay I cannot access 'My ebay' and Facebook cannot click my profile or messages, I can't click on "Your Photostream" which means I can't use it in Flickr. I tried exploring and all these work, then firefox. I uninstalled and reinstalled and did a virus check system on top of the one active ongoing and nothing no change. I am at a loss what to do now. A relative offered to download an older version that worked, but I don't even no how to do this. I would appreciate help I can use firefox as at the same time, I'm stuck with exporer I hate. Thank you

After you apply a systematic update on Windows XP, I started having "not responding" to stop and had to cancel the task through the Task Manager. The error "not responding" moved to the selection of items on a screen and had to cancel via the Task Manager. I applied the updates and that did not fix the problem. The last update was 34.0.5 and FireFox would not start up. I noticed several people also had this same problem with Windows 7 (although my Windows 7 works ok - touch wood).
34.0.5 upward in safe mode but would not come otherwise. I did a Reset and FireFox started with Extensions disabled. The first expansion, I have activated was Norton 2014 Toolbar and FireFox did not come to the top. After application of all available newly INDEPENDENT States fixed, FireFox came upward with the NIS active 2014 and seems to operate normally in the present tense.
Some added addons toolbar and anti-virus are known to cause
Firefox issues. Disable all of them.Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
While you are in safe mode;Type of topic: preferences #advanced< enter > in the address bar.
Under Advanced, select General.
Find and stop using hardware acceleration.Search web sites secure. Are there problems?
Then restart.

I did nothing else during the last 3 days but now Firefox has decided to install and it loads fine - I have no idea why or what caused it as I have not downloaded one thing - but thanks for the aid application. Regards Terry -
My computer is set to the automatic update in Windows 7 Home Premium and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. I am also running Norton 360. There was a major update for the office on 10-12-14, which seems to be at the start of my problems. This month, whenever my updates caused a restart, Mozilla has failed to open. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, and it lasted only a day or two before it crashes again. This last time it is still not open. All instructions to solve problems appear to be based on the idea that the program is open and just questions. I can't even open it in Mode without failure.
I tried to reinstall, and it says it will launch automatically when the installation is complete, but it does not work. As Norton scan every download before it works, I am not sure if this is the problem since I never get the window that indicates the setup step by step for Firefox.
What should I do?
Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. A clean reinstall is not the same as a regular resettlement performed using built-in installer. Please follow these steps:
Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.
- Download the latest version of Firefox from mozilla.org office (or choose the download for your operating system and language on this page) and save the file to install it on your computer.
- Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (or open the Firefox menu
Click the close button
).
- Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
- Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
- Windows:
- Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
- Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
- Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.
More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.
WARNING: Do not use an uninstaller to third parties as part of this process. This could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and passwords saved. They can be retrieved easily unless they have been backed up on an external device! See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.
Please report to say if this helped you!
Thank you.

I opened this morning with no problems, went to my g-mail account, pulled upwards an e-mail, click on answer, typed my respons, but when I hit send, everything went completely empty.
I have not compressed, without... menu bars anything other than firefox upper-left logo and reduce it, full-screen/small screen and close / x buttons in the upper left corner... it's she.
I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but nothing works.
What now?
COR - el,
Wow... that was well above my head... at least tonight. Laughing out loud
After my last post, I did a little research and figured out how to import my favorites in IE8... so I uninstalled firefox again... but this time I had checked the "delete my personal Firefox and customizations" in the wizard, who did remove two addons (Ghosery and Ad Block Plus)... the relocation was different this time and the first time you start firefox He asked if I wanted to import my IE Favorites, which I did... I now added Ghosery and Ad Block... and if so far everything goes well... seems I got this back up and running.
The mention of the malware in a madperson add-on has been helpful to my solve my problem.
Thanks for the help...

The first time it happened, I reinstalled and it was fine for a week, then the same thing happened. Now when I try to uninstall and reinstall it is the same problem - no page igoogle, no e-mail, web pages don't show pictures or just look weird, and the interface of blog that I use doesn't work at all.
I tried to delete the folders, but the computer would not allow me to do so either. I have Macafee antivirus, norton not
See updated McAfee Security Center and firewall settings to allow access to the Internet Firefox or even try to clear the cache and cookies.

I can open adobe reader, but then cannot do anything with it. It does not. I have to control, alt, delete and use the Task Manager to close. I've uninstalled and reinstalled without success.
Hi Elizabeth,.
This issue could be related to the version of Adobe Reader you are using on the computer.
Please help me with the following information related to the issue:
(1) what is the latest version of Adobe Reader, which is installed on the computer?
(2) is that Adobe Reader application-specific question?
I suggest completely uninstall Adobe Reader and then install the latest version.
Follow these steps:
Step 1:
Refer to uninstall Adobe Reader with Adobe cleaning tool:
http://labs.Adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Step 2:
See the link to download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader:
http://get.Adobe.com/reader/Enterprise/
If the problem persists, you can post the same query on the community of Adobe Reader.

Using Player Adobe 11, now comes up with an error, once the file is opened. "Invalid Plugin detected, will waive the software Adobe reader." Close the program so cannot display PDF files. Running windows 7. I uninstalled and reinstalled the same Adobe. Help
It seems that something has been added in the folder on the drive. I would recommend http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.htmluninstalling the program, running, removing any left over parts of the record player (this could be the problem), reboot and reinstall. If all goes well, that solved the problem. Future questions about the player, you should consider asking in the forum of reader, is not.

need to uninstall and reinstall firefox, it tells me to close google chome windows I get thi message when I
go to the Control Panel programs and features high firefox uninstrall
I did the same process with google chromeUninstall Firefox ask you to close Google Chrome? It's strange. I guess that you have closed all the browser windows when this happens.
I should ask: why do you need to uninstall and reinstall Firefox? Usually, this does not resolve problems with Firefox. Maybe read this article: Firefox Refresh - reset the settings and Add-ons.
