Cannot open InDesign CC

Whenever I try to open InDesign CC, it crashes unexpectedly.

I uninstalled InDesign CS6, uninstalled InDesign CC, reinstalled InDesign CC, restarted my Mac while trying to launch the application through the steps.

Please try the steps in the following help document.

    Hello

I can't open Indesign CC 2014 more. Creative cloud app works, but when I try to open Indesign it pops up a window saying sth like "Indesign doesn't anymmore. Indesign cannot start due to technical problems. We will contact you as soon as we have a solution to this problem"(I translate from German to English...):

I uninstalled first Indesign as a program and then the cloud app. But nothing has changed.

You have an idea, what could be the problem?

    Thank you very much!

According to me, it does, but delete the preferences would in any case. Have you tried running Windows restore ' the system to get back to a date when it was working?

Many windows users are having problems with MSVCR110.dll. If there is nothing in case the viewer associated with the failure it might help to point out the problem.

  • Cloud Creative canceled but now cannot open InDesign CS6

I had to use InDesign CC for a client project, so I bought a subscription for 2 months. The subscription is long now, but I can't open my original, owned, CS6. Whenever I try to open it, its says I need a subscription. CS6 is not part of the creative cloud, then I don't understand what could be the issue. Meanwhile, Im needing to do a project for a client and an Im paralyzed.

I just thought of it. For me, the answer was simply you connecting on my Adobe account, which was still running. I then exit the creative cloud application. Now I can open InDesign CS6. Not sure why anyone tell in the older link you just posted. What a big mess CC is, IMO. Thank you.

  • Cannot open indesign after download.

CC. downloaded indesign can't open the app and error message: could not launch Adobe InDesign that you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Make sure that you have the appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign.

    Hello

As said quite rightly by Mylenium, you must set the permissions on the folder Preferences.

You can see the lower thread for the same as well:

  • Cannot open InDesign Mac files on pc

I am trying to open certain InDesign files made on a mac on my pc, but it does not work.

I have the latest version of InDesign on my PC.

    We tried:

Open mac files as they are.

Resave the mac as the former format of indesign files, then open them on PC

Export from mac to IDML files and open these files on the pc.

Open the file on my pc as a "copy".

    Nothing works.

    I get the message:

Either the file does not exist, you may not, or the file may be in use by another application.

With a deadline for this project very soon so really need to solve this problem. Any ideas out there?

I don't know what's the mac version of original for this. And it will take some time to find out.

I see this somewhere? It would make a difference?

    Use this: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/934429

Yes, it makes a difference. First of all, my script checks if it is indeed an InDesign file. If this is the case, it indicates which version of the file has been created with (and recent versions of the script also usefully tell you this as that means for you, that is, whether or not you can open it with your version of inDesign).

Also check out: nothing strange in the name of the file? Don't assume - Remove the name of the original file and type in something reasonable. There are a lot of strange symbols of Mac that can have hooked a ride along.

If this does not work: either send the file somewhere for us to watch (preferred), or open it in a hex editor and show us the first two bytes. To allow us to check what it is.

  • Cannot open InDesign EPS files by other users

Hi, I wonder if someone can help me...
I am trying to export something to a customer as a .eps since InDesign CS5.5. I can export fine, I can open it on my laptop
no problem using my other copy of InDesign...

But when the other person try to open the file (I thnk they use Corel PaintShopPro X 4) it produces just one

error message saying that the file is corrupt or uses features not supported.

The file I'm trying to export is vector (separated and indicated to eliminate the problems of fonts) and also contains jpg files

in the design. (I also tried to send him just a page with a box of vector contour and nothing else on him and who)

    will not open either.)

    Anyone has any suggestions please?

    Thank you very much

    Jerry

The only entity that can answer your question is Corel. That's their code! Once again, the EPS of InDesign is fully in line with the PostScript specification. I suspect that Corel code is only able to completely interpret a subset of PostScript and some buildings or constructions of output PostScript by InDesign sequences are simply beyond the capabilities of Corel's products.

  • Cannot open indesign 2014

After you have installed indesign 2014, I get this message: could not launch Adobe InDesign that you do not have sufficient permissions to access the preferences folders. Make sure that you have the appropriate permissions and then restart Adobe InDesign.

    It happens to indesign

Here's what solved it for me. Went into ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Indesign / and copied my 9.0 prefs 10.0 in the directory. Now it starts very well.

Also note, my previous version of Indesign CC still implemented as usual during all this. I had previously tried using disk utility to repair permissions, but that did not help. When I looked the permissions on the folder 10.0 they were identical to the 9.0. So, not sure what was going on there.

  • InDesign Mac CC: "cannot open resource file' popup message when loading a feather in my plugin

We have a pretty simple plugin for InDesign, which we have maintained since the time Pre-cs.  We would wear to CC.  Everything works on Windows and Mac, with one problem.

The plug-in displays a file save dialog box, which is customized with a couple of additional controls for additional information from the user on the exported file.  As far as I know, there is no way to do it with the InDesign SDK directly, so we do it with code specific to the platform and resources.  Under Windows, we have this by calling GetSaveFileName in the Windows API and by setting a custom resource .rc and "hook" function with OFN_ENABLETEMPLATE and OFN_ENABLEHOOK.  On Mac, until CC InDesign, we asked the function of carbon NavCreatePutFileDialog, with a style file old Pier and an event proc handling kNavCBCustomize and al.  This has all worked for a long time great.

However CC InDesign on Mac is 64-bit only, and carbon will not work with it.  So, we took the leap in cocoa and put implement with [NSSavePanel setAccessoryView:], where load us a NSView custom from a pen integrated into our bundle of plug-ins.  And it works very well also.  However, when the plugin code call [NSNib initWithNibNamed:bundle:], InDesign CC appears a warning message saying: "Cannot open resource file."  However, the resource (the pen) is obviously loaded correctly.  Thus, the user must dismiss this apparently false alert box before being able to move forward.  Once the alert is dismissed, the NSSavePanel works very well, with our custom NSView.

I can say that the popup alert just InDesign itself, rather than a subsystem of Mac underlying as cocoa, because he has the title of "Adobe InDesign" and the gray dark background as the rest of the CC of InDesign and the OK button has an orange highlight around it.  It is clearly not a standard thing of Mac as a NSAlert.  And if I do the same calls to [NSSavePanel setAccessoryView:] et al. in a stand-alone application, obviously no this popup appears.

It seems that somehow our call to load the file Nib triggers some kind of hook in InDesign.  My guess is that it's a hook for InDesign load its own resources, which is hanging by mistake in features our plug-in.

I tried two approaches to load the Nib enumerated file here:

    http://StackOverflow.com/a/5855561/3207828

And they both work, the pen is responsible and we can get our NSView to it and use it in the NSSavePanel.  But if we call [NSNib initWithNibNamed:bundle:], or [NSViewController initWithNibName:bundle:], CC InDesign displays the message box as soon as the call to load the pen is made.

Why InDesign CC showing the message 'Cannot open resource file', and how can it be prevented?

    Thank you

    Dan

I thought about it.  The problem was the plugin code to create a ResourceEnabler object, which is needed by older versions (CS *) of the plug-in on Mac to locate resources .rsrc for the call of NavCreatePutFileDialog of carbon with the carbon resource custom.   I #ifdef'd out so that the ResourceEnabler object is not created during the generation of Cocoa 64 bit for the CC and the offending message popup no longer appears.

I do not understand why the ResourceEnabler object is needed for carbon, resources of the plug-in to the top of the stack of the resource, but I do not completely understand why the presence of the ResourceEnabler object would have an effect on a call from cocoa to [NSNib initWithNibNamed:bundle:], which also works fine.

Note that simply create the ResourceEnabler object does not trigger the popup even if the bundle of plug-in contains no carbon resources to move to the top of the stack.  It's only when I go to load the Nib file that the ResourceEnabler seems to want to get involved and complain that it cannot find anything.

So if anyone from Adobe is reading this, I would say that set you the ResourceEnabler feature so that it does not interfere with loading crane of cocoa.  It is perhaps best to just do the ResourceEnabler a no - op in InDesign CC.

  • CC of InDesign cannot open the file - error: recorded in a later version (CS7.0)

My colleague and I have implemented CC accounts last month (updated for CS5), but now when I'm trying to open a file, she led recently I get this error: "cannot open 'file name.indd' because he was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign (CS7.0). You must use this version or later to open the file. To then allow him to open up in this version, click Save as InDesign CS4 or later version, or exporting to IDML. »

Both are PCs. We use the same software, it seems so I'm confused as to the version of CS 7, she saves in and does not allow me to open the file.

    Any suggestions?

Your cowoker has installed InDesign CC and you always run CS6. You

Where can I find these plug-ins?

The features of standard ID implemented in the form of plug-ins that come with each stable of ID. If your file cannot open, it was probably created to CS6 and not saved until CS5 / CS5.5. You must CS6 open the or ask who created it to save a version that you can use.

  • Cannot open the Indesign CS6 in CC doc

Hi, I had no problems until now opening a document that I have worked on CS6 in the trial version of CC for a free one month trial, I downloaded. But today, I copied the doc of my USB on my desktop and when I try to open it in the CC, I get a message saying "cannot open".

I did CS 6 here at home and don't really want to hike in the office on weekends to work on it.

    Any ideas?

There is a good chance that the file is damaged. Removing a USB drive before the end of writing is a common problem.
