    Hello

    Try this:

    1. open the run command via start-> run or press the Windows Logo + R on your keyboard.
If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, you can also open the Start Menu and use the search field to type to the next step.

    2. in the box you opened in step 1, type; Outlook.exe

3 press the SPACEBAR once and then type a slash mark (/) followed by the switch that you want to use (see list below). For example, if you want to use resetnavpane the command you type in the Open box should look like this:
    Outlook.exe /resetnavpane (note the SPACE)

    4. to execute the command, click OK.

or try a restore of the system before this happened

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

If necessary do in safe mode

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

    Hi Sam,

How is configured your outlook? What is the exact error message? Click Start-> settings-> Control Panel-> Mail-> see her => profile, select your active profile... Set your profile to request, if any doubt in the case of more than one profile listed, click ok on the screen and open outlook. Should you be asked to use profile, select the profile and try it.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot open outlook... .icons disappeared, perhaps sys. files also tried restoring, no luck

I uninstalled a program called Flash Player free from GNU, and it took my files system with it. Now, some of my desktop icons won't work and will change to paint miniatures of program. My outlook express open used... error says "windows does not recognize this file etc... When I select a list, it will not always be open. Tried to change the outlook properties icon, but it will not change. In the Explorer, some say 'empty' and other files appear in blue! Lost my recovery disc. Tried system restore, but still no luck. Used the drive to factory settings, but they do not work.

I tried to download Adobe and still failed to open the file.  Cannot open the file with everything that has been suggested by people of Staples and my place of the computer didn't load good software

The winmail.dat file does not contain something useful. It's people who use Microsoft Outlook to send e-mail messages. They can prevent to appear by sending messages to plain text. • Export Windows Mail to Outlook 2003 on VISTA error "can't initialize MAPI.

The woman has Windows Vista Home Premium installed. Using Windows Mail. We want to move to Outlook 2003. MS Office 2003 (including Outlook) was installed, was able to connect to the mail server, we use (POP3). With the help of the excellent Note Microsoft KB 196347 to export emails in Windows Mail when I choose the file, then export, then the Messages, then Microsoft Exchange, and then click OK in the popup note, I get this error: "Export could not be performed. An error occurred during initialization of MAPI". I read a lot of notes related to MAPI forum on import INTO Windows Mail, but not vice versa. NOTE: I installed VISTA family premium on my own PC, configure Windows Mail and then installed Office 2003 (including Outlook). I followed the same steps of export and had no problems. My VISTA installation is new, and my wife has been in place for about a year. Any help is appreciated! -Al

It is difficult to understand what the problem could be.  You can try compacting and repairing the database on the machine of your wife, but I don't know if this will have an impact on the problem (seewww.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Moreover, as a workaround you could transfer the Bank of messages of the wife to your pc, import the messages and then export them to Outlook, and then move the PST to his machine.  See here for general information: www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx

You can also consult an Outlook forum to see if they have a solution.

  • Cannot open Outlook Express

I'm unable to load Outlook Express.  When I try, I get the first blue box but nothing beyond that.  Finally, I got the error msg, "Outlook Express could not be started because another instance of it is still running on your computer."  The cure of suggsted is to disconnect or to stop and restart the computer.  This has no effect.

Also, I tried to 'fix' OE as indicate support of Microsoft Outlook Express.  It lists the 4 files which should registered bere.  No problem with the 3.  The 4th, regsvr32 mshtml.dll, makes me a message error "DllRegisterServer entry point not found...". "Any suggestions on what I need to do to fix this?

Before you try to open OE, right-click on the taskbar and see if she, or msimn.exe is running. If this isn't the case, it is probably corrupted Folders.dbx.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

The path to the message will be very similar to this:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\ {long string of letters & numbers} \Microsoft\Outlook Express
With OE closed, find the Folders.dbx file and delete it.  Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

    Note these possible side effects:

When you re - start OE, it will build a new index of all *.dbx files it can read and create a new Folders.dbx. However, understand that you will lose the mail directory structure and message rules will probably have to be edited.
  • Cannot open outlook express on windows xp pro, error message is impossible began another version is running on the system

It started when could not send email with pictures, I can't even delete the email then after outlook express does not open. The error I got is outlook express could not be started another version is running on the system

Before attempting to open OE, right-click on the taskbar and open the Task Manager and check that there is no mention of OE or MSOE in the running processes. If it's OK, try a new Folders.dbx file.

MSIMN. EXE is the real process of OE

  • Cannot open Outlook Express dbx files saved

    Original title: files__ dbx

I backed up all of my Outlook Express folders and now I can not open them. They have all of the .dbx endings. How can I restore them?

If you have saved all of the directory, copy it to the desktop computer and right-click on the file and check properties to ensure that they are not read-only.  Then go to file | Import | Messages in OE and choose to import from a directory, and point to this directory.  To import a single dbx file, see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#imp1
