- What version of Windows are you using?
1. it is possible that you are missing the codec to play the file or it is clashing with other codec files.
2. the link provided below lists supported by Windows Media Player file format.
It does not list the AVCHD or. MTS files supported file format directly:

I used to be able to watch VIDEO (including the .avi) files in the preview pane in windows Explorer, but it has since stopped working. This change took place after the update to the latest version on windows media player. (version 12.0.7601.18150)
attempted fixes:
1. in options from files of the variations of tab - all reviews of checking / unchecking "always show icons, never thumbnails" and "show previewhandlers in the preview pane. the first has nothing to do with this problem. If it is just an audio file, you must download the file to a file free host then post a link to the file on the Web site. If Windows Media Player comes into play depends on what media player the person clicking the link used as their default media player. After about one day it started working again fine except that now I have no sound at all. I get the message of theC00D11B1 of windows media player and I followed using web, but nothing works. All my audio devices are activated and started but when I run the test for his failure and I hear nothing. The speakers were working fine before the crash bit I had. Any help is appreciated.

I'm trying to burn an audio cd using a playlist and the Windows Media Player built-in burning capability. I already went through the standard elements, changing CDs, shift etc. The problem persists.
When I try to burn an audio cd from a playlist I get the following message "windows media player has encountered a problem when burning the file to disk"
