  It is not your serial number, at least for your friend (s) officially transferred the property to you.  Your friend was actually in violation of its license agreement for have given you serial number unless he did the official ceremony of transfer.

  Because you cannot start Photoshop, you cannot change the allocation of work disk in preferences.

  Fortunately for you, the engineers designed a shortcut to fix that: hold down CTRL + ALT (PC) / CMD + OPTION (Mac) starts as soon as Photoshop to get this menu:

  

  Select a different drive with more space, but don't forget the cleaning of files cluttering your hard drive, as described in other posts.
