Cannot receive messages - Windows Mail

Hello, whenever I click on my Windows Mail, an error message appears that says the following:

Your server suddenly put an end to the connection. The possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'the House', server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, secure (SSL): Yes, error number: 0x800CCC0F

When I click the send/receive button to receive messages, I have the same exact message. However, when I spam click the message, a dialog box appears that is labeled "Windows Security" and ask you a user name and password "Logon at home please verify that the user name and the password are correct for your mail server".

Does that mean exactly? I'm trying to complete to the best of my knowledge, and no matter what I put in, it shows the error again box and says the following:

Account: 'the House', server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR [AUTH] username/password invalid ', Port: 995, secure (SSL): Yes, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

I'm very confused here, if I could get help

Depending on the issue recently posted by Brian Farb and Bruce Hagan's response, I have already changed the settings of the antivirus and compacted and repaired with WMUtil and one STILL cannot receive emails!
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sympatico.ca seems to be itself rebranding.  I could not find instructions on settings on their website.  You could contact them directly and see if they have changed something in their system.

  • Cannot receive or send mail using the Windows Mail get 0x800CCC18 error number

How can I fix the problem?
Cannot receive or send mail using the Windows Mail get 0x800CCC18 error number
Windows mail was working fine until about 2: 30 EST 2011-12-14 and tried to send an email and got the above error msg.

Check with your mail service provider to make sure that there is not an intermittent interruption of service.  If you have webmail capabilities, you can also check.  Otherwise, compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and if that doesn't help, remove your e-mail account, close and reopen WinMail and then add it back back.  Also check 3rd party program interference such as antivirus software (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).

  • Send/receive in Windows Mail box is off the screen to the right

Outbox send/receive in Windows Mail (Vista) used to appear at the top left of the screen.  Now, she is partially visible and on the top right of the screen.  I would like to return it where it was.  It comes to the Outbox Send/REC/WAV with the Green shows the 'streaming' line in messages and not the send/REC/WAV in a box in the toolbar.

Right-click on the toolbar and slick on customize and control the order of the displayed icons.  Adjust them to send/receive is not the end, but where you want.  If the order is good but it still hurt shows, press the Reset button and that should restore icons in their right place (although if you have no customization, you will need to do it again).

After further review, I know that I have responded to the toolbar tells you not what you were referring too.  I've been looking for each menu option and toolbar option I could find and you can't find any reference to any other send/receive button available in Windows Mail so that I have all the answers for you since the feature that you are discussing seems to not exist in my copy.  My only suggestion is to try to grab it with the mouse (left-click on it and hold down the left button) and see if you can move whenever you prefer it to be.  Otherwise, I have no suggestions to offer.  Do you know how to activate this box on or off (do appear or disappear) - if so, please explain how it's done.  If we can get this dialog to appear in our versions, then maybe we can find a way to solve the problem.  Have you ever installed some software enhancements 3rd party Windows Mail which could include this as a feature?

    I hope this helps.

  • I get the empty error message when clicking on "send & receive in Windows Mail.

Original title: I receive a blank error message when you click "Send & Recieve" in Windows Mail.

I recently asked a question in the Microsoft answer that I could access Internet Forum is no longer my favorites to Internet Explorer 8 (although they were always on display in the folder My Favorites in my user account folder.)  Several fixes to this problem have been proposed, but the one that worked was when it was suggested that I might have a corrupted user account.  I was directed to Microsoft link "How to fix a corrupted user profile." I followed the instructions and created a new user account and copied the files to the new account. Was done to correct the problem, and now I can access all my favorites still in IE8 in the new user account.

However. I am now no longer able to send or receive messages in Windows Mail. When I click on "Send & receive" I get the box that says "some errors occurred while processing tasks requested. Please see the list of errors below for more details. "However, the box below which is supposed to list the errors is completely empty. I contacted my ISP (Virgin Media) provider, who did various diagnostic tests. They told me that this isn't a problem with their security, and they checked my account settings to make sure that everything is correct. They seem to think that this could be a problem with my registry. They sent several messages test (arriving in my web Virgin Media mail box), but for some reason are not getting downloaded in my Windows Mail. On a few occasions did pass the test messages (but only after I closed Windows mail and then reopened.) However, Windows Mail has stopped working again.

Just once, I got details of an error that has been ' ERR protocol error. Port 110, secure (SSL): 0X800CC90. 0x800ccc18 error number. "However, it was the only time. All other times, the error box is completely blank.

I would be very grateful if someone could help me solve this problem.  I'm very IT limited knowledge.

I looked in the links provided by Karena & Bruce, but they did not provide a solution to my particular problem.   I must say that I have noticed some improvements to Windows Mail but the button "Send & receive" still does not work properly. I can now send and receive messages.  If there is no message on my e-mail server of the Virgin, access automatically when I open Windows Mail. However, if a new message is sent to me and as I click on "Send & receive" Windows Mail is already open on my computer, I always get the empty error message. The only way I can access the message is to close Windows Mail and re - open once again, when the new message is downloaded automatically. I found a link that says this error could be due to a duplicate news account.  I found that I had two ms.news accounts in my Windows Mail account and remove one of them.  However, this has not resolved the problem, and I'm still only able to receive new messages by the opening and closing of Windows Mail.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi Steve... We have McAfee Security and we have always had. It was only last week we had problems with Windows mail... :( Should update us do you think? BTW, the server is ok that I am able to retrieve messages on the site from servers...

    ----------------

The SMTP server and the Web site are not the same.

This problem could have been caused by a recent update from McAfee?
Try disabling electronic e-mail scanning in McAfee following the instructions here.

Mail scanning is unnecessary and purely aesthetic.

  • Can send emails, but cannot receive the get Mail error ID: 0x8DE00002

    Original title: Windows Live mail

    First timer. Windows Live mail. I can send emails but cannot receive them. The following error occurs;

Can't send or receive messages on behalf of Hotmail.co (rosspriory).

    Server error: 4402
    Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x8DE00002

Unlike what the error message says, I can send emails. Only, I don't get all using Windows Live mail

I can access the web version and it sends and receives e-mail messages. But I find the flaky web version, to say the least.

My only problem is how to find my way in this forum?

    Do not laugh!

    Server error: 4402

This error is often associated with folders created by the user. I seem to remember that a user facing this error discovered that he had reached the upper limit on the number of files. Is this possible? There is a maximum number of folders created by the user regardless of the nesting level, and I think it's 128. Otherwise, check that the files that you see in Windows Live Mail are identical to those that you see at http://mail.live.com. If you have recently added a folder, empty it by moving its contents into a folder under storage folders, and then remove it.

The program log shows where the error arises. Registration is enabled on the page of Maintenance program options, you can get to by pressing Ctrl-Shift-O for Options when displaying your message list. You will see the button of the Maintenance on the Advanced tab and logging for the different modes is selected at the bottom of the page. The newspaper itself, it's a text file called WindowsLiveMail.log and he lives in the root of your storage folder. The location of this folder is given under the storage folder on the same maintenance page.

You will later need to remove Windows Live Mail account, and then add it again back to restore the synchronization between the client and server relationship. Because this may involve a lot of re - download messages, this is the last resort. He might have to wait until your account has been reset to the level of the server, which would require the intercession of a support worker. Let's try the less memorable potential remedies first.

I don't think that repair or uninstall and reinstall the program will have any effect on this server error.

  • shippers on gmail not received by Windows Mail

It has been more than 6 months, I'm trying to get a response with these "forums".  NO RESPONSE.  I never have the alert and it's so complicated that I don't remember where to find my answer.

I have Vista and Windows Mail.  I don't use gmail, but for those who do and send me messages, their message is in the box remove or only findable in my webmail.

Please notify.  The unfortunate gmail that makes it in my mail to delete every day is a hate mail.  Every day I put it, with the same address of gmail in the blocked senders list or list of areas and 90% of the time, it appears in the deletion area.

Advise there still on the way to block this guy.

    Thank you.

    Last question first.

Quote: The unfortunate gmail that makes it in my mail to delete every day is a hate mail.  Every day I put it, with the same address of gmail in the blocked senders list or list of areas and 90% of the time, it appears in the deletion area. Advise there still on the way to block this guy.

First of all, if you put this type address in the blacklist, when mail arrives, it must be found in the junk e-mail folder. No deleted items folder.

Follow this procedure which is supposed to remove all incoming spam instead of download the Junk folder:

Open Windows Mail > tools > junk e-mail Options > place a check to the last entry "Permanently delete junk e-mail presumed rather than move to the junk mail folder" > click OK when finished.

I have no positive response to your first question. Rather than give you a 'fade' answer, I think you should repost this particular problem to:
Networking, e-mail and get the article online: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistanetworking/threads
Ask why you can not receive emails of people who use gmail. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

When you say "my PC", do you mean your * desktop *? The desktop and laptop computers are PC - for personal computers.

It can usually be overridden, but e-mail accounts are usually configured to delete a message from the server once it gets your e-mail program. So what do you expect, it's the first that looks like mail receives messages that are out there, and the other does not.

So, it looks like you want to automatically delete messages from the server. Tell us what e-mail program you use nd one of us can tell you how to change the setting, so it is not that.
