cannot reply to group imessage on macbook

I recently discovered that I have now can not meet Group imessage with my family, but only on my Macbook. I can still communicate on my iphone and I still can't see the messages received on my Macbook. It is a new issue for me since I used an imessage gladly on the iphone and macbook until recently, and it's frustrating. I don't know if it's related but I've recently updated to iOS9.3 on my iphone6 and immediately after this noticed the problem.

Can anyone help?

Hi SWW888,

Are you running the latest operating system on your mac? You can check this by clicking on the logo  and pressing 'About this Mac' at the top of the drop-down list. The version should be OS X El Capitan 10.11.4

I hope this helps!

  • Cannot install adobe flash player on macbook pro

Cannot install adobe flash player on macbook pro. Setup automatically runs through Matlab as default program. What should do?

I don't really know what is "MatLab", or the ".mdlp" suffix, or why it is added.

What is the file size of the downloaded install_flash_player_11_osx.dmg.mdlp file?  It should be 18,005,202 bytes.

If which is, I would try to simply rename the file (removing the suffix ".mdlp"), then try running it.

  • Cannot respond to some texts of group in iMessage on Macbook

Hey guys, I have a weird problem that I noticed for a bit, simply never passed me pretty buggy until today to reach out for help.

In some messages of Group (everyone has an iPhone in the Group), the application iMessage on my Macbook Pro will not let me answer, as there is no bar to type in. Not really sure how to solve the problem because it only happens to some group messages.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi onetruevu,

Glad you reached out to the Apple Discussions. Looks like you have a problem with the sending of group messages to a specific group of the message of your MBP app? Because it occurs in a specific group, there may be a problem with a contact. If you send a group message through iMessage, everyone in the group must have a phone number or have an email address registered with iMessage. If you have an iPhone with iOS 8, you can send a message as a text Message to the members of the group who have a phone number, even those who are not registered with iMessage.

I would try too updateyour OS X to the latest version using your App store and setting up forwarding of SMS on your Mac. Transfer of SMS allows you to send and receive SMS to a mobile phone number to your Message on the Mac application! See the link below for more information about the messages in the group.

Messages (El Capitan): Send a group message

Following the steps above should allow you to send your group message successfully.

  • Groups iMessages "(invalid).

    I use a 27 "mid-2011 and 2.7 GHz Intel Core processor i5 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory iMac with OS X 10.11.3.

I have problems with Messages 9.1 (5085). From what I can tell the problem exists for about two weeks (maybe since 10.11.3 has been installed, but I have not checked my current MacBook OS for comparison). When I go to iMessages group of text that have a name, I'm told iMessage or name is not valid and the message splits the thread - even if the address and addresses are the same. I can receive messages from groups on my iMac, but must meet to keep the wire from my phone or my MacBook.

I tried to restart my computer, completely remove the threads on my iMac, removing and reading my available for messaging Apple ID, confirming the address on my end, etc. I compared the message settings on my iMac and Macbook, and they are the same, although I have not yet confirmed that I am under the same OS on both machines (which I will do when I get home).

Attached is a picture of what the field looks like when I try to send the message. It is specifically says "(invalid) iMessage" but does not say what is not valid as long as others on the thread-what happened more than a named group message - can answer and I can, but not my iMac. Since I do most of my iMessaging with a real keyboard, that is irking me and my friends to split the thread or have to answer my phone.

Update: late 2011 MacBook Pro (processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory) running OS X El Capitan v. 10.11.1.

I guess something happened between 10.11.1 and 10.11.3 who killed my iMessages group, so for now I'm not updated my OS on my MacBook Pro. Any help from Apple?

  • Cannot transfer files from iPad to MacBook

Personally, I understand better than anything else of directories.   I guess that when you connect the iPad to the MacBook using the USB connection - you cannot move pictures as you would with any other device connected as a drive.

    Okay, so what now?

I was with my iPad to take shots (my first mistake).  Due to the number of falls that I ran out of memory and it stopped everything - now I do not know how to remove the iPad videos and placed them on my MacBook.

At first, when I plugged the iPad for the Macbook using the USB I had an application that seemed to allow you to "import" - I did.  Or do I think that I did.   Where it matters to I don't have any idea.  Directories of meaning for me - but whatever the application is - I had zero indicating where the photos/empty went.  I've been good with that - thinking I could use the find command to locate my videos at a later date.

But now this mysterious request automatically don't invoke not himself.   = / I cycled the power on my iPad - with no luck.

I've heard that iTunes could be a portal for the transfer of files form an iPad with other devices.   I opened iTunes on my MacBook with the iPad connected - but nothing obvious jumped out to me (as a directory) that allows me to easily move these videos.

I guess I should buy some type of camcorder.

In any case - if there is a simple way to transfer files from an iPad to a Macbook (for example a directory) then let me know.  I'd appreciate it really.

    Thank you

Please understand that I want to say this quite constructive feedback.  I suggest a change in your way of thinking.

I suggest that you leave the point of view of directory at the door when you work with an iPad and a Mac.  Apple devices tend to use directories to answer the question 'how', something is done.  But the "how" may change from time to time.

However, if you focus on 'what' to do (for example, move pictures to the iPad for the Mac), you'll realize the functions (applications) on both ends that manipulate your data.

On the end of the iPad, this app is Photos.  And on the side of Mac, that request is probably too Photos - assuming that your Mac operating system is up-to-date.

So, check in the Photos of the Mac app and see if your photos are here.  Absolutely, do not worry about the Photos app directories used to store these photos.  If you need to send them elsewhere, export Photos of Macs.

  • Is it possible to print timestamps with iMessages via MacBook Pro?

I was happy to know that you can print right from your MacBook iMessages until iCloud is turned on and synchronized. However, one small downside is not having each individual meter print with it. It will be displayed on the screen if you place the cursor on the particular message, but they will not print unless he appeared in the course of the text bubble. There is a function I can turn it on to make each text (iMessage) have a time stamp next to it for printing?

If you plan to print the messages from your iPhone, you can use the PhoneView Mac application. It will print your messages with time and date stamps. We're worth the $29 or so it cost for all archiving of messages I've done over the years.

  • Cannot install Windows 8 on retina Macbook Pro 2011

I try to install and run Windows 8 on my Macbook Pro 15 "retina end 2011 with OS 10.10.5."

I read a ton of forums, and they say all get a Windows 8 ISO from Microsoft Web site. I did it.

Then, they say get a Virgin USB key and plug it in. I did, and I put the ISO on my USB external drive.

Then he said: open Boot Camp Assistant, what I do, but then it does not match what say all forums. When I open the Boot Camp Assistant, he goes to the Introduction page. I click CONTINUE and the next page says SELECT TASKS. The only two available tasks are to "Download the latest software from Apple support" or "install Windows 7 or later.

I select both, it asks me to select my destination drive, what I do, then click "CONTINUE".

It downloads the Windows support software.

Then I get an error message that says "Installer disc cannot is, wait a few minutes for something (I forget exactly).»

So I wait and nothing happens and I'm back on the screen SELECT TASK.

    ANY HELP MUCH APPRECIATED.

  • Contacts app - cannot add a group contact

Contacts app needs a bit of love programmer.

I am trying to create a new group of contacts (* no * a "Smart group").

I created the (file-> new group) group.  Tried to created in the section of the sidebar and "on my Mac" iCloud Same behavior.

I select "All Contacts" and enter a keyword to search for. If the contact is not in the Contacts, but is in the Mail, you * must * "Add to Contacts" entry allows you to drag the contact into a group.

You * might * be able to do it once or twice, but soon the Contacts won't you allow to drag anything else in the new group you created.

If you leave Contacts and re - open, you can add one or two people, and then it stops once to answer more trolling.

All this experience?  Or a solution?

    Hi there, Mark Rushton!

Contact groups can be quite practical, and I understand your message you are having a little trouble to create yours--you cannot drag contacts you want in the Group shortly after. I know it's important to be able to create these groups with all you need, and I have a few steps, we can try troubleshooting.

    1. Exit the Contacts App. Hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard. While now Shift, re - open Contacts. Try to add to your group again.
    2. Restart your Mac. Click on the menu  Apple in the upper left of your screen, then select "Restart" in the menu dropdown. When the computer is back on, Contacts open and try to add to your group again.
    3. Test of a new user account. This will help determine if there is no data that could cause a conflict. Instructions on the configuration and test in a new user account can be found in the article from the link below.

How to test a question in another account on your Mac.

    4. Try to create your group in Mode without failure. Use the following article to help get into Safe Mode. Even if the title is not specific to your question, it's still a big step to take. Safe mode runs checks on your system and prevent execution that might be the cause of some software conflicts.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

  • iMessage on MacBook

    Hello!

Whenever I try to use iMessage on my MacBook, I get an error saying I can not connect on iMessage with my Mac at the moment and I need to contact the Apple Support. The error also gives a validation code that I have to give to the Apple Support. However, when I call Apple Support I can't past the answering machine that I don't have Apple Care.

Is there anything else I can do to get iMessage to work on my Mac? It works fine on my iPhone and iPad.

I have a MacBook late 2009, all original except for one SSD I myself installed it last year. My Mac is running on the latest version of Mavericks (10.9.5).

  • deleting data iMessage on macbook will also delete history on my iPhone?

I need to free up space on my disk storage on my macbook pro and I tried, (emptying the trash, cache, photos, history, etc.) except deletion of my data to iMessage with his pictures, videos, gifs (and I think that is what takes up the majority of the 'other' in my storage). Delete all the files "~Library/Messages/Attachments" also will remove them on my iPhone? I prefer to keep my story of CAT on my phone, but doesn't count delete on my computer. Thank you!

To only delete a device. Should not delete the history from other devices.
