Cannot restore my L750-170 Satellite to factory settings

Hi all

I have a Satellite Win 7 64 bit L750-170. I want to start the HARD drive partition recovery process, but the option does not appear in the page of rescue under the command promp option.

I have held down the 0 key, the key F12 and the process of repairing construction, but, alas, no option to start the recovery... See here... http://APS2.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD1303440001R02.htm

The last option next to the red arrow... I don't understand that... I have the partition on the disk, just can not access... I suspect that the o/s has been more written... What are my choices?

Cheers in advance...

As I see in this document is described clearly that you need to use F8 at startup. If you have the European model for laptop, you use F8 to display the advanced startup options.
The first option, there are fix my computer. With this option, you should be able to enter the system recovery options and are offered option for installation of HARD drive recovery.

Please note: this works only if your laptop is always the factory settings. In case you have installed the version of the own BONE this option won't be there more.
So the question is: what version of the OS is installed on your machine?

Only way to install original recovery image is to use recovery DVDs, but I assume that you didn't create, right?

Restoring to factory settings worked fine however not recover my files backed up.

A message is displayed (the location you specified contains no stored information)

    Hi GeorgeGould,

If it helps, try the step below and check out them.

    (a) access to the following location: C:\WINDOWS\system32 and copy the USMT folder (and all what it) to the location you saved the USMT2. The UNC file.

    (b) now when you run the files and the Transfer Wizard from the settings of the computer that you want to transfer the data, navigate to the location of USMT folder you saved above and click on ""migwiz " and that should start normal files and the wizard to transfer settings from this location."

Note: Be sure to point to the location to the root, for example, if you save your data at X:\nelson\USMT2. UNC, then point the location to X:\NOT to X:\nelson\USMT2. UNC. The wizard should find the data automatically.

You should now be able to successfully complete the transfer process.

How do I restore my windows 7 to its factory settings? as a new installation!

If you have bought and installed Windows 7 yourself, see the following resources:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-7

If it is preinstalled on your computer.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Samsung: Press the F4 key to the Samsung logo when you turn first.

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

  • Cannot restore the portable computer Satellite Windows 8.1

I have recently acquired some malware on my laptop, and after several failed attempts to remove it have decided to try to restore the device to factory settings.

Unfortunately, I don't create backup media when the laptop was new and the recovery media creator appears only to create a cover for the system as it is.

I tried to update the laptop using recovery tools built-in, but got an error "the drive where windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive and try again."

Then I tried a reset and got "failed to reset your PC. A required partition is missing. »

I have created no recovery media when the laptop was purchased, do not not this.

I don't have a system image 'clean' for a system image recovery.

I do not have a restore point created earlier for a restoration of the system.

Auto repair seems to only deal with problems of boot of the system, but still had an error "auto repair could not fix your computer" as I was trying anything at this point.

Please can anyone offer any advise of any other route that I could take to restore factory settings.

    Thank you

EH... it is a quite complicated situation now. Problem is that there is not a special workaround solution and you can not force installation of recovery image. Either it works or not.
It is a pity that you don't l l create recovery media. It is the first step that everyone should do after the purchase of the laptop. This recovery media can be used in complicated situations.
    > Unable to reset your PC. A required partition is missing
For some reason tool recovery doesn't have access to the recovery or recorded data recovery partition.

What can you do now? To be honest, I see only one solution: order the new original recovery media for your laptop model. It can be done on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Cannot retrieve the Satellite to factory settings after installing Win XP

I was running windows recovery then I chose 'delete all data... '. "something like that.
Then in the Middle by mistake I turned off the system.

After that, I tried to start windows so was in error "missing operating system". I managed to install WINDOWS XP, so I could access HDD RECOVERY but nothing happened.

I tried pressing the "F8" key and also the '0' key when the computer starts to "toshiba" logo but it is still not send me any option to get my computer back to windows vista or you can say "out of the box.

One important thing is, while installing windows XP its show me this HARD drive recovery exist and 973 MB is free off 5665 MB. This means that I have still all windows and the drivers on the HARD drive. Now please help to return normal system recovery or BOX STATE.

    > After I tried to start windows so was in error "missing operating system". I managed to install WINDOWS XP, so I could access HDD RECOVERY but nothing happened.

The installation of Win XP has damage and remove the Boot Manager and options preinstalled by Toshiba and backed by Toshiba picture.

This means that if you will be unable to retrieve the device using the drive HARD recovery option.

You could retrieve the device back to factory settings using only the Toshiba recovery disc! But I guess that you didn't create this disk is good?

Well, in this case, you can order this disc from here:

I have reinstalled factory for the laptop several times, but the problems keep occurring - should I buy a recovery disc - is - it different for recovery system installed? Thank you

Recovery DVDs contains the same recovery image as image stored on the HARD drive, so there is no difference.

To be honest I don t understand what may be the problem.

  • What happens when I restore my El Capitan mac to factory settings?

I currently have El Capitan and wanted to reinstall my Windows partition because I needed more space, but after deleting the partition and to set up the new partitions, I came across some problems during the installation of windows, in which he said that the drive was GPT partition or something like that. I've lost 3 days trying different solutions in various sites, including this and have yet to make it work so I decided to just restore my Mac for its original OS and reinstall my Windows then just upgrade to El Capitan again.

    My questions are:

    1. it would be the first time that I do this, but from what I've read and watched, what are the exact steps to restore my mac to its factory settings?

    a. restart the Mac.

    b. hold the cmd + r

    c. Select utility disk under the window utility for OS X

    d. Select the partition (Macintosh HD)

    e. clear it for OS X (journaled)

    f. utility disc close

    g. click on reinstall OS X under OS X utility window

    h. click on continue

    i. choose my drive

    j. click on install

    2. what would be the OS X installed on my newly formatted partition? Would it still El Capitan (my current operating system before formatting) or Mountain Lion (the operating system original on my Air mid-2013)?

recovery of the Internet will reinstall the last interaction of the operating system that was available

the air of 2013 came with 10.8.4 when he left, internet recovery restore 10.8.5

No, you do not have an option to choose something else.

  • Restore my HP Pavilion laptop to factory settings it is a good idea?

I recently accidentally changed my default settings of the police, I did everything I could, except for the restoration of my hard drive to its default settings. However, since I bought this computer a year ago, I noticed faster internet and less connection issues, as well as some other problems fixed. I'd be willing to sacrifice my default settings for performance, so I was wondering if it would be a good idea to restore my computer to its default settings. Also, I currently do not have records to back up my data, so I'll need to do the same. Another thing, my HP Advisor advised me not to restore my laptop unless I really need to.
Yet one thing, lightning struck our House a few months ago. Unfortunately, I accidentally turned off my father the day before surge protector. Anyway, he destroyed all of our equipment to wireless internet, as well as the fan of my father. We then contacted AT & T and they sent us a few tricks, with phone, download order software online to make our internet work. I do not have these registered Web sites and I don't know how in the world I would like to reinstall that software. So, I was wondering if I drop everything this software if I did a factory restore.

I'm with your HP consultant. Restoring default values should be a last
Resort. If you need assistance resetting your fonts, start another thread for

task, compared to the restoration of your PC.
