  on the flash drive, then paste it N87_0102.bin it

  I suggest to select the language appropriate to the download page and check if you are able to install the update on the system or not. The update that you are trying to install on the system must be of the same language as installed.

  The istall.exe should not breaks down and you should not update the BIOS in safe mode!
  Windows should be started and should work properly!

  Before running the BIOS update tool, you should close all applications running in the background and need to disable firewall and antivirus too!

  In addition the VAP (value added package) must be installed on your laptop.
  The VAP is a package of tools of Toshiba which is on the European driver Toshiba page.

  As far as I know the latest version of the BIOS for Satellite U400-134, which belongs to the PSU40E series is the version 3.50.
  Check again on the Toshiba site: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

  If you download the zip file, you should extract all files before you start the update.

  But a question; Why do you want to update?
  If your laptop works ok, you shouldn't t update the BIOS. It s simply not necessary!

  Tried to update the BIOS on a new T431s. downloaded the last utility to Flash the BIOS on the Lenovo support site, extracted everything very well, but once the flashing utility starts and tries to Flash the BIOS it gets an error and re-tent (3 times), before giving me an error message: "unable to update firmware. The process of the utility has not completed. ».

  Looking at the log file shows an "error code = 183" after each attempt.

  The existing BIOS is ver 1.04, and I try to upgrade to version is 1.06.

  The ISO image for the update of the BIOS seems to be a nogo because this machine is not an optical disc drive. Unless there is a way to copy the partition [BOOT] on the iso on a USB key.
