I wonder if the f-secure anti-virus is blocking the update of the bios

I don't want to remove it unless it's the culprit

> I wonder if the f-secure anti-virus is blocking the update of the bios

Before running the BIOS update tool, you should close all applications running in the background and need to disable firewall and antivirus too!

In addition the VAP (value added package) must be installed on your laptop.
The VAP is a package of tools of Toshiba which is on the European driver Toshiba page.

  • Satellite Pro L670 - 14 p - cannot update Bios - error message appears

    Hello

I downloaded the latest update of the Bios for the computer laptop afforementioned, and it is not allowing me to update. It says that I need to make sure that: Bios is not later than 210 (mine is 1.80), AC is connected (it is), and that the battery is greater than 10% fee (mine is 100%).

I have tried everything I can think (update running as administrator, reset the bios by default, removing all power from the laptop for half an hour etc.) and I still get this error message?

Does anyone else have this problem?
    Its got that puzzled me.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    See you soon,.
    Craig

    Hello

Did you install VAP (value added package)?
If so, uninstall and update this tool. Once again install it and restart the laptop.
Then try to update the BIOS once more.

    Good luck

  • Satellite Pro L300D PSLC9E - failed to update BIOS

    Hi all

I got a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300D Windows Vista Business, this isn't that four months, recently, he began to break up and whenever he did, I got a message to upgrade the BIOS.
So I went to the Toshiba Site and I downloaded an updated BIOS yesterday and installed even today, during installation the PC frooze.
I left it on and it stayed like that for four hours, then it turns off.

Now, when I turn it on all that I get is the fan turns to nothing else.
The powerleader was connected to the laptop all the time.

Do you have any ideas on what I can do, I have heaps on the laptop I would not loose.

Model is PSLC9E Satellite Pro L300D

The case is clear buddy update the BIOS has no procedure
Perhaps the BIOS might not be updated correctly because the laptop crashed until the update procedure could be completed.

Well, I can tell you that you will not be able to fix it yourself it's a serious issue and ONLY the ASP (certified partner) would be able to help you!

So contact the ASP technician and ask for later handling.

    Good luck

  • Satellite Pro C660 bricked by update of the BIOS that failed

My sister asked me to update his laptop (Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-16N; The part number PSC0ME-01S00SEN) of Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) of Windows 8 (64-bit).
    So I did.

Then I went UK from Toshiba Web site to check if there are any drivers I had to install for Windows 8. The only one was an update of the BIOS (for BIOS v1.70). I don't know what was the previous BIOS version number.

So I run the update application in Windows 8. Phoenix WinPhlash Technologies starts and then in the middle of the update, everything freezes.

The trackpad would not move the cursor or anything like that. I had no choice but to disconnect the phone from the wall and remove the battery. The laptop is not under warranty.

Of course, now it won't turn. It will beep once when I press the power button, but the system does not light. A few minutes later, it looks like one long beep and two short beeps. It then keeps repeating this sequence every two minutes "one long beep, 2 short beeps".

I google and read the site after the blog after the post on the forum, but nothing works. Links to the software offered on these forums/blogs/Web sites in french are usually dead, so I can't try what they suggest.

The most common solution is the Phoenix crisis recovery tool. I managed to download v1.0.0.4 which is supposed to allow me to make a bootable USB key. The version of this tool that I downloaded is supposed to be for a Lenovo ThinkPad X 200. I have the correct BIOS.rom to C660 Pro Satellite (I renamed BIOS.wph and copied to the appropriate folder).

I followed all the instructions, but it doesn't seem to work. Some sites say if it happens, I have the wrong version of phlash16.exe. Some other sites say that HP Boot Disk USB Utility should be used, but I don't know how to use it.

What I really need, is a definitive step by step foolproof guide to know what to do, with links to the files/tools to use for this model of laptop. I will follow this blindly (which I don't really understand what makes each step, I just do it with no understanding,) so if anyone can help me with this, please write a guide like an idiot!

If anyone can help me with this, I appreciate it. I'm really in a difficult situation - I can't really afford to pay a Toshiba ASP to fix it, and I can't afford a new laptop certainly. But I also couldn't bring myself to tell my sister, ' it's broken, deal!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Cannot install Win 8 - Satellite Pro C660 does not detect HARD drive

    Hello

My HARD drive died, so I decided to upgrade my Satellite Pro C660 - 1 9 to an SSD.
I made a USB bootable with Win8 and starts very well.

The problem is that it does not detect my SSD, so I can proceed with the installation.
SSD appears in BIOS but not in Windows Installer.
He said that there is a missing driver.

I downloaded the AHCI drivers (XP, only ones available) and even in this case, after you have selected the only rider that appears, it says no new device found.

I tried to change the SATA from AHCI mode to compatibility mode and it's the same thing...

    What can I do?

    Thanks for the help.
    Best regards
    Bruno Moreira

More old Windows XP need a driver AHCI Intel's but I think this isn't a problem with SATA driver missing because as far as I know Windows 8 as well as Win 8.1 already contains the drivers to recognize the SSD or HARD disk drive.
In addition, the installation of the OS should be possible even if the driver would be added for this procedure, you must use the "compatibility" mode
As you say, the compatibility mode is not working too, so I think there is another problem.

However, page driver Toshiba also provides a driver Intel RST (Intel Rapid Storage Technology) (Windows 8 - updated) you can try to add during the installation of the OS.

But I m wondering if you would be able to install this Win 8 on common SATA HDD.
Have you tried to format the SSD using a different computer, then install Win 8?
    Give it a try.

I downloaded the last three display driver updates that I can't in the list that matches the C660 but none of them won't install - temporary files are extracted, but then nothing happens. Could someone help me?

  • Satellite Pro C660 - keyboard problems

This issue is one for computer laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-1UX running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1.

Some of the keys on Board (E, T, U, I, O, A, B, N, and the Enter key) fail to register.
All keys tested so far seem to register normally.

When you connect an external USB keyboard, all the keys work properly. When you use the integrated keyboard or external USB keyboard, however, pressed some key is selected for about 2-3 seconds so that his character register. This makes typing incredibly slow and is naturally unacceptable.

I checked the Manager of devices looking for errors, but can't find one. The keyboard driver is classified properly installed and functional, and driver update indicates that the latest version is in already in service.

I've also scanned for viruses using Spybot and Malware bytes and also with laptops own antivirus software pre-installed. All the analyses of the entire system refer a none found the message of threat.

I read that the keyboards on these machines can sometimes be problematic, which could respond only to edge, some function keys. The fact that all the external USB keyboard keys work seems to confirm this. However, the fact that the keyboard both onboard and external is affected by the same slow pressure might also suggest a bios problem - but that this laptop computer is several years old and working perfectly, why bios suddenly would cause this problem.

I visited the Toshiba site and based on this laptop with the part number: PSC0ME-02100SEN, I have concluded (rightly or wrongly) that the correct bios download version is 1, 70 - WIN, only when I read the following installation instructions http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9502M10000R01.htm bios
I became quite concerned, like installing the bios update seems far from simple.

Does anyone know if it is possible to download and install the bios right through an update automated versus manual download and installation step by step, which, if not carried out as planned, could make the laptop completely unusable.

Has anyone reading this post experienced similar problems with this make and model laptop and was able to return successfully to the good operating condition. If so, how?

All constructive advice would be welcome.

    > When you connect an external USB keyboard, all keys work correctly.

This means that the keyboard controller is OK and the internal keyboard is defective.
To resolve this problem of keyboard, internal keyboard needs to be replaced.

    > However, the fact that the keyboard on board as external is affected by the same keypress slow could also suggest a bios problem - but this laptop computer is several years old and works perfectly, why bios suddenly would cause this problem.

    Hmm I n t think so
The keyboard delay can be bound to parameters.
You can check this in the control panel-> keyboard

  • Re: Satellite Pro C660-1UX keyboard became mad

    Hello

Got a Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-1UX with a crazy keyboard.
    It all started yesterday.

Pressing a few keys I get nothing, some bad letters and when I press a ' get the date and time is displayed.
Have updated the BIOS, no change. Connect a USB keyboard, everything works fine.

A new keyboard will fix things?
I see they are £20 on eBay.

    Thanks for the help.

    > Connect a USB keyboard, everything works fine.
Yes, this means that the keyboard controller is OK and the internal keyboard needs to be replaced.

    > Will be a new keyboard fix things?
Yes, new keyboard should solve the problem.

  • Satellite Pro C660 is not commissioning

    Hello
Deploy a satellite Pro C660, who decided that he no longer wants to start.

When you press the power button, the green light turns on and the fan begins to hum, however, the laptop does not have to go through the routine of the POST and everything turns off.

I checked the RAM Modules and the HARD disk automatically to the poor in the hope that the problem is simple, but nothing helped.

I managed to start the laptop previously now CTRL + ALT + DELETE, when it has sprung into life. But this trick works now is no more. I also tried waving the F12 or F2 key at startup, but the laptop won't always start.

I should mention that this laptop is not very old, less than six months, but if there is a simple solution as an alternative to return, I would like to try rather than the first!

    Hope someone has a solution?

To these questions there is not some sort of magic bullet.
The description of your problem is OK, but we don t know what you don t in the past.
This problem doesn't happen for no reason and maybe something you did can be responsible for this.

Looks defective BIOS so can you please tell us since when you have this problem, and maybe you tried to update the BIOS in the past?

  • Satellite Pro C660 graphic needs driver upgrade for Adobe Lightroom 6

I tested 5 Lightroom on my Satellite Pro C660 and it worked fine.

I decided to do it, and that week Lightroom 6 came out, so I bought Lightroom 6.

LR6 gets to the start screen, then stops and closes the Windows7.
I contacted Adobe and they went on my machine and identified the problem as being the graphics card and says I need an update of the driver.

I've been on the Toshiba site and it says that the latest driver is 8.15.10.2189, which is the one I currently have (and was changed in 2012).

I've been on the Intel site and their obtrusive says that the machine has a pilot custom then contact Toshiba.
I looked around the Intel site and tried to install that seem to be plausible drivers, but have not found one that would install.

My installation includes a monitor LG 22 "connected to the laptop with the spread of the desktop on both screens (laptop and monitor).

No one knows what would be the upgrade of the driver I need or how can I know?

    James

The page Intel graphics driver can be used, and you can also download the driver directly from the page.

This CPU does support your laptop?
What Intel GPU (Intel HD graphics chipset *) is the support of laptop?

The Intel download page provides a driver Intel as an exe or zip package
    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/

You need to download and unpack the zip package.
You will then be able to update the driver in Device Manager, choose the Advanced installation update procedure.

  • Keyboard stopped working on my Satellite Pro C660 2JD

    Hello world

    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-2JD.

The keyboard has stopped working, it only works when the keyboard screen is selected as soon as I close the screen keyboard that it stops working. I plugged another keyboard that doesn't work or only works of the mouse and the keyboard on the laptop works ok. I used the Ubuntu live CD, and the keyboard works with it, but not in windows.

I have restored the laptop to factory settings and also make a clean installation still does not work only when the screen on the keyboard keyboard works. Does anyone have any ideas of what is the problem? It seems that something prevents the loading keyboard driver.

    Krones

Start your laptop and enter the BIOS settings. Keyboard works in BIOS mode?
Have you tested using \Windows in "safe mode" (F8)?
    Please test and send feedback.

  • Satellite Pro C660-29W. How to remove the supervisor password

    Hi all
I've been locked out of my bios and I don't know the password. My little brother was playing with my laptop computer and accidentally set the supervisor password. Is it possible that I can recover the password or reset it? I really need to change my boot sequence as I just bought a new SSD and need to format my laptop. Suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Here's my version of bios and details of laptop

    Toshiba satellite Pro C660-29W

    CPU Intel Core i5 2410 M

    8 GB Ram DDR3

BIOS: BIOS FRIEND - installation utility Aptio
    BIOS system ver: 1.50
    THIS Version: 1.50

    Thank you

Supervisor password is very important safety device and a kind of reset of the user is not possible. You can cancel it, but you must know the correct password to confirm that you are the real owner computer laptop.

Toshiba provider in your country can help you with this. You just approve that you are owner of the laptop, and they can cancel it for you. Of course, you must pay for it.

As far as I know, there are several techniques for the removal of password and it depends on phone model.

Contact the closest Toshiba ASP and ask for help.
