Cannot write DVD movie

I did a movie using Windows Movie Maker, works fine on my PC.  When I go to publish the movie on a DVD it seems to write, takes 15 minutes and lists the percentage of completion.  At the end he goes down and there are no data on the disk.

HP Pavilion dv-1285dx, 6 GB of ram, processor double of Windows Vista Edition, 64-bit Home Premium

I used the DVD burner Power2Go.   Part of the original PC.

Can someone help me find the problem with editing movies on DVD?

Thank you

Hello

First, open the optical drive tray and use a soft material like cotton or a cotton swab to clean the lens.

Then, run the fixit automated Microsoft at the link below.

If it still does not work, click on the Menu start, open the all programs, open accessories, right-click on command prompt and select "run as Administrator".  In at the prompt, type the following command and press ENTER.

sfc/scannow                (Note that there is a space between sfc and /)

Let the entire process, then the output type and press ENTER.

Then, click on the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager.  Click to open the CD/DVD-ROM drives.  Right-click on the drive and choose uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.  When the device has been uninstalled click the icon 'Search for hardware changes' (usually just below help in the toolbar).  Let windows reinstall the disc and see if it works now.

Kind regards

    Hello!

I always watch DVDs with VLC media player. With this player, you can also listen to music and he can play many types of files.

In addition, you should look on the Toshiba website for an update of the firmware. Maybe this could also solve the problem.

According to the description of the drive can write DVD-R, DVD - RW and DVD-RAM. In my opinion, the first step, you can try is to test the player with various media (various manufacturers).

    Hello

I'm afraid, I have bad news for you m.
If you want to watch the shape of U.S. DVD or another continent you need to change the region code of the DVD player.
But you can change the region code 5 times only.
Then it of not possible to change the settings more.

The new driver or firmware update won't help in this case.

    Maybe someone can help me?

    Hey Buddy,

You still use another brand of DVD? Some brands could not be compatible with your player. I made good experiences with DVD-R (not DVD + R) of Verbatim and TDK. Both brands are working well and never had any problems.
    Did you check that?

What burning software do you use?
I use CD Burner XP because it s nice and little freeware tool.

  • Cannot write DVD + RW on Satellite A100

    Hi all
On my satellite A100 (PSAA9) I came to write on a DVD + RW (4.7 GB of Philips) since the year last to April this year.
Today when I try to write on the same DVD, I can't do it and the answer is the "disk reads protected", but I can format? ! After format I can not always write about it! I have the same behavior with 3 DVD

Thanks in advance for your support
    Best regards

Maybe you should write your data using a program of writing and not directly with windows.

You really should try a burning like "Nero" or "CD burner XP" program if you have not already because it s probably the best way to burn General and not with windows Explorer.

I didn t understand your description about your tool, it s not a little clearer. Can clarify you?

  • Cannot play DVD movies on due to licensing issues.

My friend built me a computer and installed a Dvd inside player.  Unfortunately, when I put in the DVD videos, I can't view because of licensing issues.  I know that most other DVD readers can read the videos without these problems.  I think that my dvd drive is an ATAPI iHAS120 6.  Help, please.

This is the message I get when I try to play the DVD.  "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card.

I think that these DVDs are protected by DRM, but they played on my sister's laptop.

If you could play before commercial video DVD...
do a system restore to a time before this started
    may be your solution.

Or you could buy a DVD decoder at the following link:

  • Satellite Pro M30: Cannot write - DVD SD-R6112

I have a M30 Satellite with a Player Pro combined DVD - ROM SD-R6112 DVD. The drive is marked as "DVD-R/RW. It will play the DVD without problem, but it will not recognize any blank DVD - RW disc. I've used Nero6 and RecordNow Delux.

The drive is incorrectly marked? If anyone has had problems similar and, more important still, to find a solution?

    Hi Geoff,

Your device works properly if you use DVD-R discs? I tried mine using a DVD - RW once and it would not accept the disk until I had formatted (using NERO).
Using DVD - R blanks I had no problem at all.

  • Satellite A210 - cannot write DVD-DL - need firmware for LG GSA-T20N

I have problem with my DVD player... I can't burn DVD-DL discs (DVD + DL too).
I'm looking for a firmware for my drive.

Toshiba Support I can find firmware for Pioneer and Toshiba (TSSTCorp) readers only.
LG says that Toshiba has new firmware.

    Hello

I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and find tree updates different firmware for TS-L632H and TS-L632P and TS-L632, but there is no update for LG GSA-T20N.

If you are not able to burn data to discs double layer, then you should try different brands.
AFAIK that should your user manual contains some details and information taken in charge and compatible discs.

    Check it!

  • Carpet * a UJ-830 cannot read/write DVDs on Equium L10

Hi, I have a laptop Equium L10. My DVD RAM mast * a UJ 830 cannot read/write to DVD discs. But it can read and write CDs.
I have installed the latest driver but no luck. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

This problem appears since day one?

I ask because it looks like a hardware malfunction, to me it seems that the lens can not calibrate properly and that's why the drive can read and write DVDs.
What burning software do you use?
For the most part a burning like Nero program provides an error message if the burning process failed

Windows XP does not write on DVD, you can use another software.
Your dvd player should also be a dvd burner, not just a cd burner.
You should have software installed with the dvd burner, you have nero or roxio, this will do it for you.

  • Cannot read DVD on Satellite Pro 4600 movies

    Hello

I have good experiences with VLC media player. Try to use it.
Back to your problem. I think you need to MPEG2decoder. Googled around and look for any W2K codec pack. After installing it, I'm sure that everything will work properly and you will be able to watch DVD movies.

As I wrote already test VLC media player. It's really good.
