  I have CD/DVD burning problems on my Satellite C660D-1GH under Win 7 x 64. With the standard windows Explorer engraving - the process starts however, it is incredibly slow and after 2 hours of burning 1 MB of the file on disk 4 GB - it dispays one error there is not enough space.

  I installed the CD Burner XP - it does not even recognize the burner.
  Any ideas how to fix this?

  Can you please test a feature with a well-known like NERO burning ROM application?

  In my opinion, you have a bad driver. You can find the most recent version of the driver from the official website of Toshiba. The version of the driver for windows xp is 3.1.0.0 (last updated 02/03/05).

  I can do not to write any information on DVD + RW. I used some different discs, but nothing.
  Writing system "disk is written protected" and the information on the disc: DVD-ROM (but I used DVD - RW).

  You update the Firmware of the DVD drive? Some firmwares can block the RW functions, or cause problems if the Firmware has not been provided by Toshiba.

  Does anyone know why, when I try to play a CD or CD-ROM, I get a box saying i/o error of entry?
  I have a Satellite L10 with a DVD super multi drive. It can read DVDs and DVD ROM

  I thought maybe it was a cable connected the drive itself, but if it's that I need how out of the car and how to support.

  I tried updating the driver and uninstall it then reinstall the drive, but I still have the same problem.
  Cannot use the accompanying software as is all the cd.

  In most cases the entrance of e/s, error message is related to a hardware malfunction (CD/DVD drive).
  The readers of the lens laser can not calibrate properly and therefore it can not read the CD inserted.
  These errors are not uncommon and occur mostly after a long period of use due to a material stressed.

  But let's check the last possibility of solution;
  Go to Device Manager and remove the drive from the list of devices CD/DVD.
  Then start the registry (regedit) and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  Then, restart the computer and check if it of possible to read CDs.

  I have a M30 Satellite with a Player Pro combined DVD - ROM SD-R6112 DVD. The drive is marked as "DVD-R/RW. It will play the DVD without problem, but it will not recognize any blank DVD - RW disc. I've used Nero6 and RecordNow Delux.

  Your device works properly if you use DVD-R discs? I tried mine using a DVD - RW once and it would not accept the disk until I had formatted (using NERO).
  Using DVD - R blanks I had no problem at all.

  You still use another brand of DVD? Some brands could not be compatible with your player. I made good experiences with DVD-R (not DVD + R) of Verbatim and TDK. Both brands are working well and never had any problems.
  Did you check that?

  What burning software do you use?
  I use CD Burner XP because it s nice and little freeware tool.

  Hello! I used my Satellite L10-194 for a few years, and he started to be really slow, I decided to reinstall the system (recover) to make it cleaner and faster.

  I think that this is the reason why your laptop does not start after the recovery procedure.
  Seems that the drivers that are part of the image are not compatible with the new motherboard.
  Maybe the driver chipset or make sure you graphics card drivers some worries and windows crashes before starting the system
  Maybe you could star the windows in safe mode. Press F8 just after pressing the power button / stop. Then choose Safe mode.
  In safe mode, uninstall the chipset driver and the graphics driver and then try to start it again.

  If that does not help, then install windows using a clean Microsoft CD.
  Pilots should be placed on the page of European driver of Toshiba.

  My cd/dvd has packed all of a sudden and then now I can't read cd, write discs or load programs. The local hypermarket of the PC (no names) say I need a new CD drawer which they cannot provide you with... So, does anyone know how to buy one or even what might be the part number? the model is a Satellite L10. Oh yes and as the laptop never moves from his spot on my desk, someone has any ideas as to what may cause it to stop working... ?

  I was put in with the carpet * a reader of DVD-RAM UJ-830 s mounted on my Satellite L10 for a few years, because I have used in a extent the laptop somewhere and have had my external USB DVD - RAM drive still available. However; now I am in the situation where I'm moving around more and am not always able to have my external hard drive with me and make me more frustrated by the performance of the carpet * player.

  I use what is widely regarded as the best available DVD + R media, namely Verbatim 16 x Taiyo Yuden dye, and the UJ-830 s offers only write a 2.4 x. application of Toshiba technical support asking, nea pleading for an update of firmware are met with the response "will be there, but we cannot say when.

  When asked if there was an upgrade of the hardware available, told me that "this is not recommended because of possible compatibility issues".

  Surely Toshiba must have the necessary information, either:
  (a) output a status update for the UJ-830 s firmware so that it recognizes new media correctly
  (b) provide a compatible hardware upgrade

  Anyone with ideas on how to sort this point, or which may suggest some media 8 x good quality that works well with this player, please post. I would also like to hear from someone who has put a new DVD writer (i.e. not original) in a laptop and has successfully obtained work as I am tempted just to try and see.

  What to say all 100% compatible CD and DVD media are mentioned in the user manual.
  To my knowledge these media work and are 100% compatible with the laptops drive

  But note; the operating manual only provides a list of manufacturers of CD/DVD and NOT CD DVD sellers.

  I have satellite L10 series laptop. I have no problem on the tv-out until my last windows xp pro installation. I have the same system and utilities installed on front. but when I formatted my system and install os clear last. section of graphic properties, on the only section of mobile devices is selected. no other device dual display clone, monitor or desktop extended... bios and the display driver is more recent.

  I recently bought a new notebook Satellite L10-192, and I have trouble with the video out of service.

  The image on the TV screen is black and white. I have read and followed the instructions of the manual (indicate the video mode PAL B, etc.), but it is always black and white.

  I have Win XP Pro without Service Pack.

  Anyone has any advice on this problem? Can I change the resolution or color depth or install Service Packs? Or a Toshiba from the factory CD utility?

  In my opinion, your settings on the laptop are right but please check your TV also. I put t know if your TV is a S-video port or you use a S-video adapter. Please check menu TV. Maybe it's for S-video option in the port.

  If the TV doesn't have a S-video port, you can connect your unit as follows:

• A few questions about satellite L10-186 and L10-102

  Some stores in my city model offers a L10-186. The technical parameters are described the same L10 - 102 (only the amount of RAM is different).
  I can't find detailed information because the L10-186 model does NOT exist on Toshiba pages (!)

  Nobody knows:
  1. what exactly are the differences between L10-186 and L10 - 102?
  2. If I buy an extra battery - universal battery fits all laptop L10 for example can I use it with L10-101 too?

  Alternatively, if Toshiba has a support email address in order to write and ask? I can't find contact e-mail with Toshiba experts anywhere.

  I guess satellite L10-186 is your specific country and you can't find it on the site of Toshiba Europe. If you find any information on the Toshiba site please try to find a dealer in your country that sells this laptop. I checked on Google Ant lots from the southeast of Europe.

  The only difference I have found is the RAM. L10 - 102 has only 256 MB of RAM and 512 MB of RAM L10 - 186.
  As far as I know that the battery needs to adapt to the L10 series.
