  Attach the support in Lightroom depends on support from the manufacturer (Canon) SDK (Software Development Kit). Once the Canon supports a camera in their SDK is normally one or two versions of Lightroom before the help is integrated. If Canon today adds to their SDK, Lightroom 6.6 or 6.7 would be expected.

  The simple answer is that Apple has caused the problem by changing something in the latest version of their operating system stopped tie working in LR. Which means that the Nikon (and other manufacturers of cameras?) had to rewrite their SDKs for each camera, so that they would work with the operating system has changed. Then Adobe could take all the SDKS updated and use them to make tethering work in LR. That all takes time and tests to make sure that the SDK Update causes problems elsewhere.

  Solution? Do not update your operating system until you have discovered that your programs, printers, etc. work correctly with the updated operating system. This applies to Windows users and Mac users. Although Windows 10 is out for months, most windows users still use older versions they work with their programs and materials. Programs, printers, video cards, etc., all need to be updated to work with Win 10 and from Apple and Microsoft constantly change their SES, it is an endless work to deal with these updates.

  Canon 70 d raw files are not supported in Lightroom version 3.3

  you need at least version 5.2 of Lightroom and Camera Raw version 8.2

  So, you have two options:

  • upgrade to a newer version of Lightroom
  • Free DNG Converter allows you to convert your images to DNG and then import into Lightroom 3.3

  I guess it's a matter of how you look at it. I'm not the creative cloud like something that I have to pay for ever. It seems to me a monthly fee to make sure that I always have the latest Lightroom and Photoshop. But do not subscribe to the creative cloud. You can certainly buy Lightroom 6. It has essentially the same features as Lightroom CC. It lacks some features that have been added since its launch. But this isn't really a problem because there will be an another upgrade in another year or so that you can buy that will have these features. There is always a cost involved with the software. It will always be updates and upgrades. And if you want to keep up to date with the software you are using then the price must be paid. It's a bit more expensive to subscribe to the creative cloud that is to buy upgrades as they arise. And if you prefer not to upgrade which is all the better with respect to the pocket book is concerned. I'd rather spend a little extra to always have the latest features of Photoshop and Lightroom. If this isn't worth it for you, then you can consider buying Lightroom 6.

• Tethering: How to save pictures on memory card + computer with Canon

  I've been shooting tied to more than a year with a Canon Rebel T5i and Lightroom on a Mac laptop. The photo would still save on the memory card that was in the camera as being transferred to the computer.  I got a new laptop and installed Lightroom computer, but now when I shoot captive photography is only transferred to the computer so it is no longer the backup to memory card, I became used to it.

  Clearly, as I did in the past, it is possible with a gun to get the image to be saved on the memory card and the computer. I can just find a way to get there.

  I thought about it! I thought I'd be a good citizen and a report on this issue. The problem was a FAULTY MEMORY CARD. After troubleshooting with a representative of Canon, we tried attaching the Canon EOS Utility 2 software which has a box where you can tell it to save on computer + card. Even when this has been verified for some reason any image would save on the memory card. We unplugged the strap and turned images on the camera without the cord plugged in and recorded everything on the map normally. The support guy suggested I have try shooting with a different memory card. After that switch on the memory card, it was working fine... saved in two places as it was supposed to.

  I'm so happy, it was a such simple fix. Interesting that the memory card otherwise works normally (for the body of fire). In any case, I hope this can be useful to someone else someday.

  So HAPPY to have this mystery solved!

  • Not sure if your Ipad will be able to read the raw files directly, if it isn't then all you need to do is move or copy pictures to the Ipad and then use LR mobile app for the synchronization of the images.

  I'll have a chance to attach my camera (Nikon D750) to lightroom via a new cable 6. The camera is read by the computer, but Lr does not detect a camera. It is listed as supported. I tried each power, option to restart the plug-in/disconnect, which suggests / I can think. Someone at - it ideas? Suggestions? A real cure?
